1Product Introduction
Overview
The CyberBlock FLASH is used to provide write-protection for storage
cards. It blocks all inbound write commands at hardware level. This
protects data in storage cards from being modified during acquisition
and analysis, maintaining the judicial availability and data integrity for
forensic investigations. CyberBlock FLASH does not need any driver
installation and is easy to use.
The following figure shows the appearance of the CyberBlock FLASH
device.

Compatible to various OSs, such as Mac OS, Windows 8,
Windows 7 and Windows XP
Provide various interfaces that allow access from the following
storage cards: SD/MMC/miniSD/microSD/RS-MMC, MS/MS
PRO/MS PRO Duo, CF, and xD/SM
Support connection to the analysis computer through an USB2.0
interface

Front Panel
The front panel provides access to various kinds of interfaces, as
shown in the following figure.

Rear Panel
The rear panel is used to connect CyberBlock FLASH to the analysis
computer, as shown in the following figure.
①.Mini USB interface
The Mini USB interface is used to connect the device to the computer
with USB 2.0 data cable.

3Usage
This chapter considers Windows XP as an example to describe how to
use the CyberBlock FLASH.
Connecting a Storage Card
To connect a storage card to CyberBlock SATA, gently insert the card
into the relevant front panel interface of CyberBlock FLASH, as shown
in the following figures:

Inserting an MS card
Inserting an SD card
When inserting an storage card such as an xD/MS/SD card, keep the
panel with the chip downward and the panel with the arrow sign
upward and slowly insert the card into the correct interface.

Inserting a CF card
When inserting an storage card such as a CF card, keep the panel
with the arrow sign upward and the side with the pin holes inward.
Slowly insert the card into the correct interface.
NOTE: CyberBlock FLASH can identify only one card at a time.
Connecting to Computer
You can use a USB data cable to connect CyberBlock FLASH to an
analysis computer.

CAUTION: It is recommended to connect CyberBlock FLASH
directly to the USB interface on the motherboard of the computer.
Replacing a Storage Card
To change a connected storage card to another one, perform the
following operations:
1 Remove the storage card from the computer OS. For example,
click to remove the storage card on Windows.
2 Remove CyberBlock FLASH from the analysis computer.
3 Remove the original storage card and insert a new one.
4 Connect CyberBlock FLASH to the analysis computer again.

4FAQ
Q1: Why a computer cannot identify the storage card connected
through CyberBlock FLASH?
A1: Check whether CyberBlock FLASH is properly connected to
the computer. Use an USB interface on the computer
motherboard to connect CyberBlock FLASH.
If the problem persists, check whether the storage card is
properly connected to CyberBlock FLASH.
