Than you for purchasing the MERASON DAC 1 digital-to-analog converter! The aim of the
multi-year development of the device was to meet the highest demands on sound quality
in order to ma e an authentic listening experience possible. We believe, and others
confirm, that with the DAC 1 we have achieved this.
So that you can enjoy the elegant appearance even after many years, clean the device
carefully with a cotton cloth lightly moistened with soap and water. Be sure to unplug the
appliance from the mains before cleaning. Avoid solvents such as alcohol, acetone, petrol
and the li e.

Notes on safety and installation
For your own safety, observe the following points:
This symbol indicates that defective components may only be replaced by components of
exactly the same type, and only by qualified personnel, and that the instructions supplied
with this device contain important information on operation and maintenance.
This symbol indicates that high voltages are present inside the unit and that there is a ris of fatal
electric shoc when the unit is opened.
Keep this information in a safe place. If you pass on the device to a third party, add these
notes.
The following minimum values must be observed to ensure adequate ventilation: Distance
to the top 5 cm, to the bac 10 cm, at each side 5 cm.
Keep the unit away from heat sources.
The unit is designed for operation in a moderate climate.
The upper side serves to dissipate heat and must not be covered with insulating materials
such as magazines, textiles, etc.
The unit may only be operated indoors.
Do not expose the unit to moisture, dripping or splashing water.
Do not place vases, burning candles, etc. on the unit.
The device complies with protection class I and may only be connected to a mains soc et
with a protective conductor connection. Use the enclosed mains cable for connection.

The specified mains voltage is noted on the bac of the device.
The unit is switched on and o completely by pressing the switch on the front left (label
"Power").
Repairs and maintenance may only be carried out by qualified personnel.

Installation
The DAC 1 develops a certain amount of waste heat during operation, so care must be
ta en to ensure adequate ventilation. The following minimum distances must be observed:
Distance upwards: 5 cm.
Distance to the rear: 10 cm.
Lateral distance: 5 cm.

5 AUX digital input, standard USB Audio Class 2.0.
6 Optical digital input (TOSLINK).

Operating and Display Elements
1 On/o switch.
2 Lit when the input signal can be processed correctly.
3 Lit when an existing USB signal is detected.
4 Lights up when coax input is selected.
5 Lights up when balanced input is selected.
6 Lights up when optical input is selected.
7 Lights up when USB input is selected.
8 Input selector switch.
Press the on/o switch to put the unit into operation or disconnect it from the mains.
The inputs are selected by pressing the input selector switch.
