X5 GNSS
PPK GNSS Module for AERIAL Mapping
Positioning with Centimeter Accuracy in PPK for Phantom 4 Pro v1/v2 and Advance
with less GCPs.
1. Place the X5 PPK on the left side of the Drone.
2. Put the Light Sensor on the left front motor of the Drone
3. Connect the microUSB cable into the Drone’s microSD slot
4. Turn on the Drone
5. Wait for the Red LED to stay solid
6. Execute your Flight Mission
7. Download the UBX file from the microSD card
8. Process Logs and get a file Photos with Geotags

Another Base Station for PPK
To calculate centimeter-accurate coordinates in PPK, X5 needs corrections from a
GNSS base station on the ground.
Comes with METTA X5 App
A user-friendly software for data collection that is available for Android. Supports
several coordinate systems. With the METTA X5 App, you can control all the
features of X5 GNSS receivers.
Ports and LEDs description

MicroSD card slot.
Plug-in the SD card as shown in the icon. Max capacity is 64GB

RED LED
Logging/error LED INDICATOR.
●3 blinks: SD card is not found
●4 blinks: Error in GNSS module
●Solid: Recording in SD card

BLUE LED
WiFi INDICATOR.
●Blinking: WiFi waiting for connection
●Solid: User using web UI with WiFi connection

GREEN LED
POWER INDICATOR.
LED lights up when Metta X5 is connected to a power source.

MODE
MODE SELECTOR.
This function in no longer used

EVNT
TIMEMARK INDICATOR.
LED blinks when a trigger is asserted by the light sensor.

SAT
PPS (Pulse per second) INDICATOR
1 blink per second once the Metta X5 device has connection
with satellites.

USB connection for debug, powering and firmware updating.
The Metta X5 device can be powered by the microUSB cable or
USB-C connector but not both at the same time.

operation
mode
WiFi is available under the name of “X5 PPK XXXX” and can be
Connected by using the password “123456789”
For RINEX post-processing it’s required PPK mode
If data logging was paused, it is resumed in this mode.
Configuration
mode
During this mode, the data logging to the SD card is paused. In
order to resume data logging, move the switch to normal mode or
press ‘exit’ button
Can be used only with the Metta X5 App or accessing by using a
web browser with the address http://192.168.4.1

This Datasheet is compatible with host Firmware version v2.9 and ZED-F9P v1.12 and v1.32
FIRMWARE UPDATE
1. Save the *.bin file (provided by Mettatec) in the microSD card.
2. Delete the config file in the microSD card.
3. Place the microSD card in the X5 module’s slot.
4. Turn ON the X5 Module.
5. The X5 Module will start the firmware updating process.
6. When the updating is finished, the BLUE LED will blink every 1 second.
