GUARANTEE
This product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 12 months from the date
of purchase. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase. This guarantee is invalid if the
product is found to have been abused or tampered with in any way, or not used for the
purpose for which it was intended.
Faulty goods should be returned to their place of purchase, no product can be returned
without prior permission. This guarantee does not effect your statutory rights.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING!
All machinery carries the risk of certain hazards involved with their operation and use. To
lessen the chance of personal injury it is imperative that respect and caution be exercised at
all times during operation of this equipment. If, however, normal safety precautions are
overlooked or ignored, personal injury to the operator, or damage to property may result.
For your own safety, please read and pay attention to the following instructions:
1. Compressed Air is potentially dangerous and can cause serious injury and damage.
Extreme caution is required at all times when using the compressor and accessories.
2. Make sure that children and animals are kept well away from the compressor and
respective equipment at all times.
3. Do not operate the compressor if any of the guards have been removed.
4. Electrical or mechanical repairs are to be carried out by qualified engineers only.
Contact your MGF dealer in the case of any problems.
5. Make sure that any pressure is expelled from the air receiver and the machine is
disconnected from the mains supply BEFORE carrying out any maintenance
procedures.
6. Do not leave pressure in the air receiver overnight or during transportation.
7. Do not adjust or tamper with the safety valves. Never attempt to exceed or adjust the
maximum pressure. This is factory set and clearly marked on the machine.
8. Do not operate the machine in wet or damp conditions. Ensure that the machine is
kept dry at all times.
9. Do not operate the machine in dusty or otherwise dirty conditions. Ensure that the
atmosphere is clean for efficient operation.

10. Be sure that machine is placed in a well ventilated position to ensure the perfect
cooling of the compressor.
11. Avoid touching metal parts that get hot during operation. Wait for the compressor to
cool down.
12. For safe operation, adjust the pressure regulator to the recommended setting as
indicated by the specific tool or accessory being used for a particular usage and
application.
13. Some paints and other materials are combustible when sprayed and these should
not be sprayed near any flames, heat source or areas where sparks or other sources
of ignition may occur.
14. Make sure that the area is well ventilated when using materials that give off fumes
and when spray painting.
15. Always handle the paint/material to be sprayed in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions and safety advice.
16. Always wear appropriate protective gear such as safety goggles, mask and gloves,
etc., when spray painting.
17. Always take special care with the electrical cables and hoses, making sure that they
are not put under strain, wrapped, bent or angled or in the way during usage of the
compressor.
18. Make sure that the air supply is switched off and that all pressurized air is expelled
from the compressor and any equipment attached to it when disconnecting or
attaching hoses and/or any other equipment.
19. Any equipment or accessories used in conjunction with the compressor must have a
safety working pressure exceeding that of the compressor.
20. Make sure that any person using the compressor has read and fully understood the
information contained in this Instruction Manual.

OPERATION
1. Before switching on the compressor - 17 Lt. And 30 Lt. Pumps versions only: remove
the black rubber cap placed at the top of the aspiration pipe (Fig. 1.A ) and replace it
with the aspiration filter (Fig. 1.B ) supplied together with your Silent compressor.

2. Before switching on the compressor - 50 Lt. Pumps versions only: remove the plastic
tap placed in the hole of the aluminum cap (Fig. 2.A ) and replace it with the
aspiration filter (Fig. 2. B ) supplied together with your Silent compressor.

ATTENTION:
without black cap removal or plastic tap removal the compressor will not be able to
work and you may seriously damage it.
3. Make sure that the compressor is level at all times. Do not operate the compressor if
it is at an incline as this will result in pump failure due to loss of circulation.
4. Check that you have adequate power supply and that the mains voltage corresponds
with that shown on the data label on the back side of the compressor.

5. Before plugging the electrical cable into the mains supply, make sure that the
ON/OFF switch is turned to the ‘0’ (OFF) position (A, Fig. 3-4 ). Plug in and switch on
at the mains supply and turn the ON/OFF switch to the ‘I’ (ON) position to start the
motor of the compressor.
NOTE: If the motor does not start immediately, it is possible that the air receiver is already
full of air. Check the tank pressure gauge (C, Fig. 3-4 ). If it is above the 6 bar you
will need to release air, by opening the drain tap, or by using your connected
accessory. The motor will start automatically once the cut-in pressure is reached.
6. Close the outlet by turning the pressure regulator knob (B, Fig. 3-4 ) fully anti-
clockwise then connect one end of the correct air hose to the connector at the air
outlet placed on the air filter and the other end to the nozzle/accessory being used.
7. Set the outlet pressure with the pressure regulator knob (B, Fig. 3-4 ) by lifting the
knob and turning it clockwise to increase pressure and anti-clockwise to decrease
pressure. Lock the Regulator knob in place by pushing down until it clicks.
NOTE: Most spray work will not need more than 50 psi (3,5 bar) unless otherwise indicated
by the paint manufacturer’s instructions. However, you may need to set the operating
pressure at a higher or lower level for other airline equipment (e.g. tyre gauges,
staple guns, paraffin guns etc.).
8. Open the air outlet tap again once you have set the required operating pressure.
9. The pressure switch placed inside the plastic cover beneath the ON/OFF switch,
should not require adjustment. This is an automatic device and has been preset at

the factory to stop the motor when pressure in the receiver reaches its maximum, and
to start it again when the pressure in the receiver falls to the minimum preset value.
This operation is completely automatic and does not affect the spraying process in
any way. However, should problems develop with the cut-in, cut-out settings, please
consult your MGF dealer, or the MGF Service Department.
NOTE:
a. If the machine pumps continuously without cutting out then the compressor is too small for
the application/tool being used, and damage may result. Consult your MGF dealer.
b. The motor is protected by a Thermal Overload which will trip and stop the motor should it
overheat for any reason. Allow the motor to cool down for 15 – 20 minutes before
restarting.
c. Do not exceed the Duty Cycle for the machine (see Specifications).
SHUTTING DOWN THE COMPRESSOR
1. Turn the ON/OFF switch (see A, Fig. 3-4) to the ‘O’ (OFF) position to switch the
compressor off.
2. Release air from the air hose before disconnecting the hose from the machine by turning
the air regulator knob fully anti-clockwise and triggering the spray nozzle.
3. Make sure all air is expelled from the receiver by opening the drain valve (F. Fig. 5) before
transporting your compressor or when leaving overnight.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT switch the compressor on or off at the mains. ALWAYS switch the compressor on or
off at the pressure switch ONLY.

IMPORTANT:
DO NOT FORGET to close the valve again when the tank is empty, particularly if the
compressor may not be used for some time
MAINTENANCE
DAILY
1. Check the oil level
Before using the compressor, check the oil level by viewing the oil sight glass ( Fig. 6 ).
17 an30 Lt versions are always supplied with oil inside. 50 Lt. Versions are supplied without
oil inside.
If necessary top up using synthetic MGF oil only available from your MGF dealer. To add oil
remove the aspiration filter ( Fig. 1-B and Fig. 2-B ) and add enough oil until the level
reaches the middle of the oil sight glass. Be careful when replacing the filler plug not to
cross-thread it.

IMPORTANT
Never exceed the maximum oil level shown on the label, this will compromise the
correct compressor running.

2. Drain condensation
Condensation may accumulate in the air outlet filter. Valve at the bottom of the filter gives two
options. In the standard position it drains the filter when it goes to zero bar pressure, turning it
anticlockwise direction it drains immediately (D, Fig. 3 and 4).
3. Open and close the drain valve
The drain valve at the base of the tank (F. Fig. 5) must always be opened when you have
finished using the compressor to expel all air and to allow any condensate to drain out.
NB: When the tank is empty, remember to close the valve again.
PERIODICALLY
1. Replace the oil filler plug/air breather after every 500 hours of operation.
2. If the oil becomes contaminated it will be necessary to drain it.
Remove the filler plug/air filter. Turn the compressor upside down and allow the oil to drain
out. Refill with new SYNTHETIC OIL until the level reaches the middle of the oil sight glass.

MGF synthetic oil is always available by your dealer or the manufacturer.

manomesso in qualsiasi modo, o usato per scopi diversi da quello per cui è stato fabbricato.
I prodotti difettosi devono essere restituiti al venditore; nessun prodotto può essere restituito
senza il previo consenso. Questa garanzia non preclude i diritti di legge dell’acquirente.

Tutti glia apparecchi implicano alcuni pericoli durante l’uso. Per ridurre il rischio di lesioni
personali è essenziale esercitare sempre rispetto ed attenzione durante l’uso dell'impianto.
Se tuttavia le normali precauzioni di sicurezza dovessero essere trascurate o ignorate,
l’operatore potrebbe subire lesioni personali o potrebbero verificarsi danni alI’apparecchio.
Per la propria sicurezza, leggere e rispettare le seguenti istruzioni:
1. L’aria compressa è potenzialmente pericolosa e può causare lesioni e danni gravi. È
sempre necessario prestare la massima attenzione quando si usa il compressore e
gli accessori.
2. Assicurarsi che i bambini e gli animali stiano sempre lontano dal compressore e dalle
relative apparecchiature.
3. Non usare il compressore se sono state rimosse protezioni .
4. Le riparazioni elettriche o meccaniche devono essere effettuate solo da tecnici
qualificati. Contattare il proprio rivenditore MGF in caso di problemi.
5. Assicurarsi che sia stata espulsa tutta la pressione dal ricevitore d’aria e che la
macchina sia scollegata dall’alimentazione PRIMA di effettuare qualsiasi riparazione.
6. Non lasciare pressione nel ricevitore d’aria durante la notte o il trasporto.
7. Non regolare o toccare le valvole di sicurezza. Non cercare mai di superare o
regolare la pressione massima, che è stata impostata in fabbrica ed è chiaramente
indicata sulla macchina.
8. Non usare la macchina se l’ambiente è umido o bagnato. Assicurarsi che la
macchina sia tenuta sempre asciutta.

9. Non usare la macchina in un ambiente polveroso o sporco. Assicurarsi che
l’ambiente sia pulito per un funzionamento efficiente.
10. Assicurarsi che la macchina sia posizionata in una posizione ben ventilata per
assicurare un perfetto raffreddamento del compressore.
11. Evitare di toccare le parti metalliche che si scaldano durante il funzionamento.
Attendere che il compressore si raffreddi.
12. Per un funzionamento sicuro, regolare il regolatore di pressione nell’impostazione
come indicato dall’attrezzo o accessorio specifici in uso per un utilizzo ed
applicazione particolari.
13. Poiché alcune vernici ed altri materiali sono combustibili quando vengono spruzzati,
evitare di spruzzarli vicino a fiamme, fonti di calore o aree in cui possono verificarsi
scintille o altre fonti di ignizione.
14. Assicurarsi che l’area sia ben ventilata quando si usano materiali che potrebbero
sprigionare fumi o quando si spruzza vernice.
15. Usare sempre la vernice/il materiale da spruzzare secondo le istruzioni e le
indicazioni di sicurezza del produttore.
16. Quando si spruzza indossare sempre adeguate attrezzature di protezione, come
occhialini, mascherine e guanti, ecc.
17. Prestare sempre attenzione ai cavi elettrici e ai flessibili, evitando di sovraestenderli,
aggrovigliarli, piegarli, angolarli o lasciarli in un punto in cui siano d’impiccio durante
l’uso del compressore.
18. Assicurarsi che l’alimentazione d’aria sia spenta e che tutta l’aria pressurizzata sia
espulsa dal compressore e da qualsiasi parte collegata ad esso quando si
scollegano o collegano flessibili e/o altri attrezzi.
19. Qualsiasi apparecchiatura o accessorio usato insieme al compressore deve avere
una pressione d’esercizio di sicurezza maggiore rispetto a quella del compressore.
20. Assicurarsi che qualsiasi persona che usa il compressore abbia letto e capito
completamente le informazioni contenute nel presente manuale.

FUNZIONAMENTO
1. Prima di accendere il compressore – Solo pompe versione 17 Lt. e 30 Lt.: rimuovere il
tappo in gomma nero ubicato sulla parte superiore del tubo di aspirazione (Fig. 1.A ) e
sostituirlo con il filtro d’aspirazione (Fig. 1.B ) in dotazione al compressore Silent.

2. Prima di accendere il compressore – Solo pompe versione 50 Lt.: rimuovere il
rubinetto in plastica ubicato nel foro del cappuccio di alluminio (Fig. 2.A ) e sostituirlo
con il filtro d’aspirazione (Fig. 2. B ) in dotazione al compressore Silent.

ATTENZIONE:
Se il coperchio nero o il rubinetto in plastica non vengono rimossi il compressore non
è in grado di funzionare e potrebbero verificarsi seri danni.
3. Assicurarsi che il compressore sia sempre a livello. Non usare il compressore se
inclinato, per evitare guasti alla pompa a causa di perdita di circolazione.
4. Controllare di avere l’alimentazione adeguata e che la tensione di rete corrisponda a
quella indicata sull’etichetta nella parte posteriore del compressore.

5. Prima di inserire il cavo elettrico nella rete di alimentazione, assicurarsi che
l’interruttore ON/OFF sia su ‘0’ (OFF) (A, Fig. 3-4 ). Inserire la spina ed accendere
l’alimentazione, poi portare l’interruttore ON/OFF su ‘I’ (ON) per avviare il motore del
compressore.
NOTA: Se il motore non si avvia immediatamente, è possibile che il ricevitore d’aria sia
già pieno d’aria. Controllare il manometro del serbatoio (C, Fig. 3-4 ): se indica
oltre 6 bar è necessario sfiatare aria, aprendo il rubinetto di sfiato, oppure usando
il proprio accessorio collegato. Il motore si avvia automaticamente una volta
raggiunta la pressione di cut-in.
6. Chiudere l’entrata girando la manopola di regolazione di pressione (B, Fig. 3-4 )
completamente in senso anti-orario e collegare un’estremità del tubo dell’aria corretto
al connettore in corrispondenza dell’uscita dell’aria sul filtro d’aria e l’altra estremità
all’ugello/accessorio in uso.
7. Impostare la pressione in uscita tramite la manopola di regolazione di pressione (B,
Fig. 3-4 ) sollevando la manopola e girandola in senso orario per aumentare la
pressione ed in senso anti-orario per diminuirla. Bloccare in posizione la manopola del
regolatore spingendola verso il basso fino a sentire “click”.
NOTA: la maggior parte degli spray non necessitano di oltre 50 psi (3,5 bar) a meno che non
indicato diversamente nelle istruzioni del produttore della vernice. Tuttavia, potrebbe
essere necessario impostare la pressione d’esercizio ad un livello superiore o
inferiore per altra attrezzatura con tubo per aria compressa (per esempio manometri
per pneumatici, pistole sparagraffette, ecc.).

8. Aprire nuovamente il rubinetto di uscita d’aria una volta impostata la pressione di
esercizio necessaria.
9. L’interruttore di pressione ubicato nel coperchio di plastica sotto all’interruttore
ON/OFF non dovrebbe richiedere regolazioni. Si tratta di un dispositivo automatico
preimpostato in fabbrica per fermare il motore quando la pressione nel ricevitore
raggiunge il Massimo, e per riavviarlo quando la pressione nel ricevitore scende al di
sotto del valore minimo preimpostato. Questa operazione è completamente automatica
e non influisce in alcun modo sulla spruzzatura. Tuttavia, se sorgessero problemi con
le impostazioni di cut-in e cut-out, si prega di consultare il proprio rivenditore MGF,
oppure L’Ufficio Assistenza MGF.
NOTA:
a. Se la macchina pompa continuamente senza cut-out il compressore è troppo piccolo per
l’applicazione/attrezzo in uso e potrebbero verificarsi dei danni. Consultare il proprio
rivenditore MGF.
b. Il motore è protetto da un dispositivo contro il sovraccarico termico che si innesca e
blocca il motore in caso di surriscaldamento per qualsiasi motivo. Lasciare raffreddare il
motore per 15 – 20 minuti prima di riavviare.
c. Non superare il ciclo di lavoro per la macchina (cfr. specifiche).
SPEGNIMENTO DEL COMPRESSORE
1. Posizionare l’interruttore ON/OFF (cfr. A, Fig. 3-4) su ‘O’ (OFF) per spegnere il
compressore.
2. Sfiatare aria dal tubo per l’aria prima di scollegare il flessibile dalla macchina girando la
manopola del regolatore d’aria completamente in senso anti-orario ed azionando l’ugello
di spruzzo.
3. Assicurarsi che l’aria venga espulsa dal ricevitore aprendo la valvola di sfiato (F. Fig. 5)
prima di trasportare il compressore o lasciarlo per una notte.
IMPORTANTE:
NON spegnere o accendere il compressore in corrispondenza dell’alimentazione, ma
spegnerlo SEMPRE SOLO in corrispondenza dell’interruttore di pressione.
