1. We recommend that you rst prep your skin with the enclosed degreasing
cleanser in the lavender tube. Sonic Dermaplaning is most effective on skin that
is clean, dry with all traces of residual surface oil removed. If your skin feels a
bit tight and dry after using the degreasing cleanser, do not worry. You will be
applying a hydrating soothing serum after your session.
2. Before using you sonicsmooth for the rst time, charge the handle for 12
hours. See charging instructions.
3. We do not recommend using the sonicsmooth directly over the eye lid, on
the nose or lips.
4. Attaching/Removing Safety Edges:
• sonicsmooth must be in OFF mode to change Safety Edges
• To remove a Safety Edge from the Handle, with the device turned OFF, grip
the outer edges of the Safety Edge with your thumb and pointer nger and
slide upward away from the device handle
• To attach a Safety Edge, with the Safety Edge still in the Cartridge Case,
slide the device Handle through the opening in the Cartridge Case along
the Safety Edge tracks until the Safety Edge “clicks” into place.
• Tip: Use your pointer nger on the hand not holding the device Handle to
hold the Safety Edge in place when attaching the device.
• When the Safety Edge is secured into place, lift
the device and attached Safety Edge from Cartridge
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

sonicsmooth |9
5. Starting: Press the ON/OFF Button to turn on
6. Selecting Speeds: To customize your dermaplaning session, sonicsmooth
provides a choice of 3 power/intensity settings (low, medium and high). We
recommend that you start on a lower speed setting and gradually increase
power/intensity as you get used to sonic dermaplaning.
After pressing the on/off button one time the unit will power on in low speed.
When you press the button again, the unit will change to medium speed.
Pressing the power button a third time will change the speed to high and
pressing the button one more time will shut off the device.
Through smart technology, if you hold the power button down for 2 seconds in
your favorite speed setting, the unit will power off and remember your favorite
setting the next time you power on the device. For example, when the unit is
powered on in medium speed setting, hold the button down for two seconds
to power off the device. When you press the button one time to power on the
device, the handle will power on in the medium speed setting
7. Sonic Dermaplaning. After prepping your complexion with the degreasing
cleanser in the lavender tube, rinsing clean and patting skin dry, you are ready
to begin your session. There is no wrong way to dermaplane but if you would
like to mimic the pattern your aesthetician uses to perform a dermaplane
session, follow the tips below.
Caution: Pull hair back away from face and take precaution when using
around hairline and eyebrows.

Sonic Dermaplaning Tips
This is a graphic that shows the
aesthetician recommended
directions to dermaplane in different
areas of the face for the best
possible result.
8. Gliding movements. Hold
skin taut with the second and third
nger of the hand not holding the
sonicsmooth. Starting near the
two ngers holding skin taut, gently
glide the sonicsmooth along
the skin moving away from ngers.
Treatment areas should be between 1”-2” long and the width of your Safety
Edge. You may gently glide over skin in a treatment area 1-3 times positioning
the sonicsmooth at a 45°. angle.
9. When you are nished, power off the sonicsmooth and return it to the
charging cradle. Discard your Safety Edge.
10. After a sonic dermaplaning your skin may be slightly pink or red in color. This is
normal after the complexion. Apply the Sonicsmoothe Soothe After Treatment
Gel to the skin. Any sensation of post treatment redness will fade in the next
couple of hours.

Expert Tips from an Aesthetician
1. Best Time to use sonicsmooth. Sonic Dermaplaning is one of the safest and
most effective at home dual anti-aging / hair removal treatments. It is important
to space treatments apart every 7-10 days.
2. When you perform sonic dermaplaning with sonicsmooth the complexion
is excited resulting in a refreshed plumping effect and an increase in skin
luminosity. As you dermaplane you are removing unwanted facial hair and also
the top layer of dead dull skin as well as pore clogging debris. It’s important to
protect your skin from sun exposure, harsh chemicals and exfoliants around your
dermaplaning sessions.
3. Ideally, performing sonicsmooth treatments at night before bed will allow
your skin to refresh itself while you sleep. Keep in mind that after dermaplaning
skin is more readily able to absorb serums and moisturizers because the dead
layer of skin and vellus hair that blocks absorption has been safely removed.
You may notice a dramatic improvement in the look and feel of your skin when
your serums and creams are able to perform properly.
4. It is not recommended that you apply makeup directly after a sonicsmooth
session. Allow freshly revealed skin to receive soothing nutrients from the
sonicsmooth Soothe After Treatment Gel as well as revitalizing oxygen.
Allowing the pores to “breath” while you sleep will yield a refreshed glowing
complexion in the morning.

12 | sonicsmooth
5. Did you know that your makeup will look better when applied to skin that has
been dermaplaned? It’s true, liquid, cream and powder makeup will have a
smooth fresh palette elevating the appearance of makeup when applied the
morning after or hours after a sonicsmooth session.
6. We do not recommend using the sonicsmooth in the eye socket area, on
the nose or directly on the lips. These areas are not at in surface and are not
suitable for the at Safety Edge on the sonicsmooth.
7. Holding your sonicsmooth at a 45° angle is the safest and most effective way
to sonic dermaplane. It is not recommended that you hold the sonicsmooth
perpendicular to skin.
8. Unlike shaving other parts of your body, the best possible result from
sonicsmooth is achieved by using light feathery strokes in a downward
motion which is the same direction as hair growth. When we shave other parts
of our bodies we typically shave against the direction of hair growth but when
dealing with soft vellus facial hair, dermaplaning in the same direction as hair
growth yields a better result.
9. When working in areas better accessed in a slightly sideways angle, it is suitable
to angle the sonicsmooth to t the contour of the face. An example of
this is when working on and around the cheek bone area. It may be easier to
successfully dermaplane this area by directing strokes from the hairline towards
the center of the face. Just remember to hold skin taut with the opposite hand.

CHARGING
1. Your sonicsmooth is powered by a rechargeable battery. Recharge
the battery only as needed in the Charging Cradle. It is not necessary or
recommended that the sonicsmooth be recharged after each use.
Depending on the power setting used, the fully charged sonicsmooth should
provide 3 hours of continuous use before needing to be recharged.
2. First Use. Before you use your sonicsmooth for the rst time, you need to
charge it fully for 12 hours. For subsequent recharging allow 8-10 hours.
3. Charging Cradle. Your sonicsmooth comes with a universal Charging Cradle
to store and recharge the Handle. The universal Charging Cradle is compatible
with international and domestic outlets (100-240 Volts AC; 50/60 Hz) with the
respective country plug adapter. If the shape of the plug does not t the power
outlet, use an attachment plug adapter of the proper conguration for the
power outlet.
4. To charge the sonicsmooth, plug the power adapter into a wall outlet and
plug the DV jack into the back of the Charging Cradle. Place the handle
securely into the Charging Cradle. The Charge Indicator will light up in red
indicating the unit is charging. When the unit is nished charging the Indicator
will light up in green. Unplug the adapter from the wall and Charging Cradle
when not in use. DO NOT unplug the adapter from the wall outlet when it is still
connected to the unit as this will cause discharging of the battery.

14 | sonicsmooth
5. Infrequent Use. The Handle needs to receive a charge occasionally. If you
rarely use the Handle, recharge it in the Charging Cradle every 3 months to
maintain its charging capability.
6. Charge Indicator. When the charge is good the Power Light will be green.
When the charge is low the Power Light will be red. After 10 minutes of use with
a low charge the Power Light will Flash Red and the device will power off.
If the sonicsmooth is not sitting in the Charging Cradle Properly it will fall out
and will not receive a charge.
If your sonicsmooth stops working, charge it in the Charging Cradle for
a minimum of 5 hours. If the issue is not resolved, please contact Customer
Service.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Handle. To periodically clean the Handle, use an alcohol wipe. Using water on
the handle may damage the unit.
2. Safety Edges. The Safety Edges are designed for single use. Dermaplaning with
a fresh Safety Edge everytime is a good hygienic practice as well as eliminates
issues associated with using a dull blade.
3. Charging Cradle. DO NOT immerse the Charging Cradle in water. Unplug the
Charging Cradle before cleaning it. After unplugging the Charging Cradle,
wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
4. DO NOT clean sonicsmooth or any of its components using a dishwashing
machine.
5. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or chemicals to clean your sonicsmooth.
6. Storage. When not in use for prolonged periods, store your sonicsmooth in a
dry place at a temperature between 32°F and 140°F (0°C to 60°C).
7. sonicsmooth does not require any other regular maintenance. If the unit
is not working properly, discontinue use and contact Customer Service at
[email protected] or call (772) 800-7654.
