Installation on a ooded suction is recommended. Installation under vacuum is
not advised, any damage to persons or associated equipment will not be covered
under this guarantee.
Maximum operating pressure is identied overleaf. If the maximum pressure is
exceeded or if operating close to this pressure t a suitable pressure limiting valve
before the lters.
WARNING: This system operates under pressure. Under no circumstances should
the system be disassembled unless the internal pressure of the unit has been
relieved. Failure to observe this warning will expose persons to the possibility of
personal injury and may result in damage to the product or other property.
This unit is designed to lter the cold water line at ambient temperatures
(0ºC to 50ºC).
The appliance is not intended for use by young children or inrm persons without
supervision.
Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with
the appliance.
If installing on Australian Municipal water sources, a dual check valve and back
ow prevention device must be tted prior to this system.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of a high quality, Microlene Twin Filter Housing Kit.
All components have been designed and manufactured to provide reliable operation.
Model Selection
Davey offer our Microlene Twin Filter Housing Kits with two purchasing options:
KAS#J Models – Include preselected lters for treating harvested water, 20 micron for
removal of dust and sediment, followed by 1 micron for ner sediment and cyst removal.
KAS#JM Models – Include a preselected 5 micron lter for light sediment removal
and a 5 Micron Carbon Cartridge for taste and odour.
AS Models – Offer the option to select your own lters to suit your specic requirements.
The model selected should be based on the maximum water or peak ow rate required.

Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality
without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certied
for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected waters that may contain
lterable cysts.
Filter must be protected against freezing, which can cause cracking of the
lter and water leakage.
If your uid system is suspected to have high night time pressures or
occasional high pressure surges/water hammer (which can be induced
by the quick acting valves in equipment such as washing machines and
dishwashers) or the pressure is regularly/typically over 100 psi / 680 kPa
- then it is recommended that an anti-hammer device (before/after) or a
pressure reducing valve be installed before the lter housing.
The rubber O-ring provides the water-tight seal between the cap and the
bottom of the housing. It is important that the O-ring be properly seated in
the groove below the threads of the housing or a water leak could occur.
Because of the product’s limited service life and to prevent costly repairs
or possible water damage, we strongly recommend that the bottom of all
plastic housings be replaced every TEN YEARS. If the bottom of your
housing has been in use for longer than this period, it should be replaced
immediately. Date the bottom of any new or replacement housing to
indicate the next recommended replacement date.
Special Notes
• For cold water use only.
• Do not install where system will be exposed to direct sunlight.
• Make certain that installation complies with all state and local laws and regulations.
• The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by the selected cartridge
are not necessarily in your water. Ask your local water municipality for a copy of their
water analysis, or have your water tested by a reputable water testing lab.
• After prolonged periods of non-use it is recommended that the system be ushed
thoroughly. Let water run for 5–6 minutes before using.
• The lter cartridges used with this system have a limited service life. Changes in
taste, odour, and/or ow of the water being ltered indicate that the cartridge should
be replaced.
• Some harmless bacteria may attack cellulose media cartridges. If your cartridge
seems to disintegrate or develops musty or mouldy odour, switch to a synthetic
media cartridge or consult the manufacturer.
• Please read all instructions, specications, and precautions before installing and
using this lter.
Installation
Housings are easily installed on cold water lines. The water supply should be turned
off at the meter or, preferably, a shut off valve installed before (and after is also
recommended) the housing inlet to allow for easy installation/replacement of cartridges.

NOTE: When installing your lter kit allow a minimum of 100mm clearance below housing
bowl to enable lter cartridge changes. The lter housing connections are standard ¾” BSP (on
10” Standard) and 1”BSP (on 10” Jumbo and 20” Jumbo models) connections and can easily
be installed on copper, plastic or galvanised pipe by use of the appropriate ttings.
CAUTION: In some countries metal pipework is used as earth. If applicable
in your country, housings installed on metal pipelines must have a jumper
wire installed from the metal pipe on the inlet to the metal pipe on the
outlet. This work must be carried out by a suitably qualied person.
WARNING: Do not over tighten inlet/outlet connections – stripped
threads will result.
For installation on galvanized, copper or plastic pipe. Style of ttings may vary from
those shown, depending on type and size of pipe.
Take into account other equipment installed nearby. Installation above electrical
equipment is not preferable as water loss during maintenance or in the event of a
water leak, could damage this equipment.
Mounting, Plumbing and Start-up
The 10” Standard unit (AS10A) has 20mm (3/4”) BSP female plumbing connections
requiring 20mm (3/4”) BSP male plumbing.
The 10” Jumbo and 20” Jumbo models (AS10J, KAS10J, KAS10JM, AS20J, KAS20J
and KAS20JM) have 25mm (1”) BSP female plumbing connections requiring 25mm
(1”) BSP male plumbing.
– Hold the unit in the desired mounting position to make a mark through mounting
holes on the surface you are mounting to.
– Remove the kit from the marking position and place down carefully.
– Fix screws to the wall that will allow the kit to be mounted using the key-holes in
the back of the unit. Ensure there is more than 100mm space below the lters for
future maintenance.
– Mount the kit to the wall then tighten the screws to hold it rmly.
– Plumb the pipework into and out of the unit. If connected to a pumping and/or UV
system switch on and allow the UV system to warm up for two minutes.
– Turn water on and any tap downstream.
– Check for leaks.

Sediment Cartridge Filter Life
Once the housing is properly installed, a reduction in ow/pressure (to such an extent
as to cause inconvenience) will indicate when the cartridge is becoming clogged and
needs replacing/cleaning. Sediment cartridges should be replaced/cleaned/sanitised
when the water ow has been noticeably reduced/or after 3-6 months - whichever
comes rst (this is for hygiene reasons).
The stage one pleated cartridge is washable, in mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly
and replace. If damage to the pleats is visable, it should be replaced.
The stage two poly spun is not washable and requires replacement every 3-6
months depending on water quality.
It is always good practice to keep a spare set of lters on hand.
Activated Carbon Cartridge Filter Life
– available as an added option
Fit into the stage two lter housing. Readily available through your Davey dealer, these
should be replaced when they no longer remove taste or odour from the water, when
blocked, or after 6 months - whichever comes rst (the latter recommendation is for
reasons of hygiene - Bacteriostatic cartridges can be used up to a maximum of 12 months).
NOTE: Actual ltration/purication life of cartridge can vary with the condition
of incoming water.
WARNING: DISINFECTION MAY ALSO BE REQUIRED ON UNTREATED WATER
SUPPLIES. We recommend Sterio Ultraviolet Disinfection Systems.

Filter Cartridge Replacement
A. Turn off water supply to lter. Depress blue pressure-relief button to release
trapped air.
B. Place a bucket or container under the housing if needing to protect surface
underneath from any spilled water.
C. Remove bottom of lter housing by turning clockwise (if required use spanner
included with product upon initial purchase).
NOTE: If turning off water supply to the lter, this will also turn off water to the rest
of the home. Be sure to ll a bucket of water rst to allow you to clean the housing
after it has been removed.
D. Locate and remove large O-ring on the top of the lter housing base, wipe clean
of lubricant and set aside.
Discard used cartridge. Rinse out bottom of housing and ll 1/3 full with water.
Add 2 tablespoons of bleach and scrub cap and bottom of housing with non-
abrasive sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly.
Lubricate O-ring with clean silicone grease. Insert O-ring back into groove and
smooth into place with nger.
NOTE: This step is important to ensure proper housing seal. Make sure O-ring is
seated level in the groove.
Insert new cartridge into bottom of housing.
E. Screw bottom of housing onto the cap and hand-tighten. Do not over-tighten.
Turn on water supply slowly to allow lter to ll with water. Depress blue
pressure-relief buttons to release trapped air. Flush cartridge for 5 minutes before
use. Flush again for 10 minutes before using water. Check for leaks before
leaving installation. If leaks present, tighten with spanner provided.
Troubleshooting
1. Leak between cap and bottom of lter housing:
a. Turn off water supply and press the blue pressure-relief button. Remove
bottom of housing.
b. Clean O-ring and O-ring groove (located directly beneath threads of housing).
Lubricate O-ring with clean silicone grease and replace securely into groove.
Do not use petroleum based lubricant. Screw bottom of housing onto cap and
hand-tighten. Do not over-tighten.
c. Replace O-ring, should leak persist. O-ring can deteriorate over time and
periodic replacement is required.
2. Leak on inlet/outlet connections:
a. Turn off water supply. For brass ttings, tighten nut snugly about half of a turn
with a wrench.
b. Turn on water supply. If leaks persist, or if there are other leaks on the system,
turn off water supply. Contact your nearest Davey dealer for advice.
Maintenance
Filter housings must be maintained according to manufacturer’s instructions,
including ongoing replacement of the lter cartridge. Failure to do so will result in
poor water pressure and poor ltration results.

Davey Warranty
Davey Water Products Pty Ltd (Davey) warrants all products sold will be (under normal use and service) free of defects in
material and workmanship for a minimum period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase by the customer as
marked on the invoice, for specic warranty periods for all Davey products visit daveywater.com.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or apply to a product that has:
• been subject to misuse, neglect, negligence, damage or accident
• been used, operated or maintained other than in accordance with Davey’s instructions
• not been installed in accordance with the Installation Instructions or by suitably qualied personnel
• been modied or altered from original specications or in any way not approved by Davey
• had repairs attempted or made by other than Davey or its authorised dealers
• been subject to abnormal conditions such as incorrect voltage supply, lightning or high voltage spikes, or damages
from electrolytic action, cavitation, sand, corrosive, saline or abrasive liquids,
The Davey warranty does not cover replacement of any product consumables or defects in products and components
that have been supplied to Davey by third parties (however Davey will provide reasonable assistance to obtain the
benet of any third-party warranty).
To make a warranty claim:
• If the product is suspected of being defective, stop using it and contact the original place of purchase. Alternatively,
phone Davey Customer Service or send a letter to Davey as per the contact details below
• Provide evidence or proof of date of original purchase
• If requested, return the product and/or provide further information with respect to the claim. Returning the
product to the place of purchase is at your cost and is your responsibility.
• The warranty claim will be assessed by Davey on the basis of their product knowledge and reasonable judgement
and will be accepted if:
- a relevant defect is found
- the warranty claim is made during the relevant warranty period; and
- none of the excluded conditions listed above apply
• The customer will be notied of the warranty decision in writing and if found to be invalid the customer must
organise collection of the product at their expense or authorise its disposal.
If the claim is found to be valid Davey will, at its option, repair or replace the product free of charge.
The Davey warranty is in addition to rights provided by local consumer law. You are entitled to a replacement or
refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also
entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not
amount to a major failure.
For any internet connected products the consumer is responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection. In the event
of a network failure the consumer will need to address the concern with the service provider. Use of an App is not a
substitute for the User’s own vigilance in ensuring the product is working to expectation. Use of a Smart Product App
is at the User’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law Davey disclaims any warranties regarding the accuracy,
completeness or reliability of App data. Davey is not responsible for any direct or indirect loss, damage or costs to the
User arising from its reliance on internet connectivity. The User indemnies Davey against any claims or legal actions
from them or others relying on internet connectivity or App data may bring in this regard.
Products presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished products of the same type rather than being repaired.
Refurbished parts may be used to repair the products. The repair of your products may result in the loss of any user-
generated data. Please ensure that you have made a copy of any data saved on your products.
To the fullest extent permitted by law or statute, Davey shall not be liable for any loss of prots or any consequential,
indirect or special loss, damage or injury of any kind whatsoever arising directly or indirectly from Davey products. This
limitation does not apply to any liability of Davey for failure to comply with a consumer guarantee applicable to your
Davey product under local laws and does not aect any rights or remedies that may be available to you under local laws.
