Did you know?
If the Milton Solo is left unopened after microwaving and the safety vent
is closed, the bottle will remain sterile in the Milton Solo for up to 24 hours.
WARNINGS FOR USE IN THE MICROWAVE:
Check the power of your microwave before you begin using it.
Check that the accessories you want to sterilise can be microwaved. Your Solo is safe to microwave.
Always keep the microwave turntable clean and dry before use. For smaller microwaves, the turntable may need to be
removed to allow the Milton Solo to fit in.
Always ensure that your Milton Solo is clean with no old water residue before use in the microwave.
The Milton Solo contains boiling water when being sterilised. Handle with care and keep out of the reach of children.
Always wait 3 minutes before removing the Milton Solo from the microwave to let it cool down. Ensure that you take care,
as it will contain hot water and steam. Always place it on a hard, heat-resistant surface.
Do not put Milton Anti-bacterial Tablets or Solution inside the Milton Solo when you place it inside your microwave.
Do not use metallic items in your Milton Solo as this could damage your microwave.
THIS PRODUCT MAY BREAK IF DROPPED WHILE FULL OF WATER.
1 CLEAN
Wash all bottle parts in warm soapy water, then rinse in cold water. You can use Milton Baby
Bottle Cleaner for best results.
2 FILL
Pour exactly 60ml of water into the Milton Solo.
IMPORTANT: Your Milton Solo will not sterilise properly unless the correct amount of
water is added. You can use a baby bottle to measure exactly 60ml of water.
3 LOAD AND CLOSE
Place everything inside the Milton Solo, with the bottle opening facing downwards.
Screw the lid on, and then press the safety vent down if raised. When steam pressure
builds up inside Solo the safety vent will pop up automatically.
4 MICROWAVE
The Milton Solo can be placed upright in the microwave if space permits or it can be
placed on its side using the ‘lay-flat’ lip feature if you have a compact microwave.
Microwave for 2 mins at 1100-1850W, 4 mins at 850-1000W, 6 mins at 500-800W.
5 COOL AND USE
For safer handling, leave the Milton Solo to cool inside the microwave for at least
3 minutes after the microwave cycle has finished. Remove the Milton Solo using
oven gloves to prevent scalding.
Wash your hands well before handling sterilised items. Unscrew the lid and take the
contents out using tongs.
If you don’t want to use your bottle straight away after microwaving, press the pop-up
safety vent back down to keep the bottle sterile for longer.
Did you know?
The bottle can be left in the sterilising solution until you need to use it. When you have a used bottle simply clean
it and immerse it in the solution. You can continue to add and remove bottles to the same solution for 24 hours.
WARNINGS:
Do not transport the Solo full of Milton solution as the solution may leak through the valve. Avoid
contact with base metal, silverware, silks, woollen or coloured fabrics (may bleach).
Ask the experts:
Why should I sterilise?
During your little one’s first 12 months, their immune system is
still developing so they need extra protection from germs that
may cause gastroenteritis and other nasty bugs. To do this, you
need to make sure that all feeding equipment is clean and
properly sterilised.
How long should I sterilise for?
Right up until your baby’s first birthday
What should I sterilise?
Basically everything that can go into your baby’s mouth! This
includes bottles, teats, soothers, plastic feeding spoons, weaning
bowls, teething rings, toys as well as your breast feeding
accessories such as breast pump parts and milk storage
containers.
Did you know?
At 6 months old, your baby’s immune system is at its weakest
and even at 1 year they will only have around 17% of adult
immunity levels against the germs that cause diarrhoea and
vomiting.

How to get the best use from
your Milton Solo:
Check the power of your microwave before you
begin using it.
Dry your Milton Solo well after each use to
prevent a build-up of limescale.
The individual parts of the Milton Solo can be
cleaned in the dishwasher.
To remove the submerger
from the lid for cleaning,
insert fingers into the
holes as shown and
twist anti-clockwise.
Reverse the procedure
to re-attach to the lid.
It is only necessary to use the submerger when
using the cold water sterilising method, although
for convenience it can still be left attached to the
lid when sterilising in a microwave.
