Renseignements sur le nouveau systè-
me photographique „Advanced Photo
System“
Mit der MINOX CD 25 haben Sie sich für eine
Kamera von modernster Technologie entschieden.
Nachfolgend erhalten Sie einige kurze Hinweise,
die Ihnen die besonderen Vorteile des Advanced
Photo System beschreiben. Detailliertere Hinweise
entnehmen Sie bitte den entsprechenden Punkten
dieser Anleitung.
xFilmkassette IX 240
Für das Advanced Photo System können aus-
schließlich die Filmkassetten IX 240 verwendet
werden. Sie zeichnen sich im wesentlichen durch
ein kleineres Negativformat, eine besonders
hochauflösende Emulsion, eine Film-Statusanzei-
ge und eine Magnetschicht, die zum Datenaus-
tausch zwischen Film und Kamera dient, aus. Die
handelsüblichen Filme sind mit 25 oder 40 Auf-
nahmen lieferbar.

xCartouche de film IX 240
Vous ne pouvez utiliser que des cartouches de
film IX 240 pour le Advanced Photo System. Un
format de négatif plus petit, une émulsion à très
haute résolution, un indicateur visuel d’expositi-
on et une bande magnétique permettant un
échange de données entre l’appareil et le film -
telles sont les nouvelles propriétés du film
IX 240. Les films d’usage sont disponibles à 25
ou 40 poses.

In choosing the MINOX CD 25, you have selected
a state-of-the-art camera. The following is a short
description of the special advantages offered by
the Advanced Photo System. For more detailed
information, please read the relevant sections in
this instruction booklet.
xIX 240 film cartridge
The IX 240 film cartridges are the only films to
be used with the Advanced Photo System.
They distinguish themselves through a smaller
size negative, a special high-resolution emulsi-
on, a visual exposure indication, and a magne-
tic stripe for exchange of data between the
camera and the film. Usually films with 25 or
40 exposures are available on the market.

xIX Datenaustausch
Beim IX Datenaustausch werden verschiedene
Informationen, die insbesondere zur Verarbei-
tung Ihres Films im Fotolabor von Interesse sind,
auf der Magnetschicht des Films gespeichert. Es
handelt sich im einzelnen um die Informationen
Aufnahmedatum, Blitzbelichtung, Bild-Seitenver-
hältnis (C/H/P) sowie den Belichtungswert.
xDrop-In Automatik
Die Drop-In Automatik macht das Filmeinlegen
zum Kinderspiel. Die Filmkassette kann, ähnlich
einer Batterie, in das dafür vorgesehene Filmfach
eingeschoben werden. Das manuelle Einfädeln
des Films entfällt dabei gänzlich. Dies ist mög-
lich, weil der Filmanfang bei der Filmkassette
IX 240 im Inneren der Kassette liegt und erst
nach dem Einlegen in die Kamera automatisch
ausgestoßen und eingefädelt wird.

xÉchange de données
Grâce à l’échange de données IX, diverses infor-
mations importantes pour le traitement du film
par le laboratoire photographique, peuvent être
mémorisées sur la piste magnétique d’enregistre-
ment du film. Il s’agit d’informations telles que
la date de la prise de vue, le mode flash, le for-
mat d’impression d’image (C/H/P) ainsi que la
valeur de l’exposition.
xSystème automatique „drop-in“
Grâce au nouveau système „drop-in“, l’insertion
du film n’est plus qu’un jeu d’enfant. Doréna-
vant l’insertion du film dans le logement prévu à
cet effet est tout aussi facile que celle d’une pile.
Avec ce nouveau système, l’amorçage manuel
du film n’est plus nécessaire, parce que la lan-
guette du film IX 240 se trouve au fond de la
cartouche. L’amorçage et donc l’avancement ne
sont effectués qu’après le chargement du film.

xIX information exchange
Thanks to the IX information exchange, diffe-
rent types of information, which are of particu-
lar interest to photo labs, can be stored on the
magnetic stripe of the film. The stored data
holds information on the date on which the
photograph was taken, flash exposure, print
aspect ratio (C/H/P) and the exposure value.
xAutomatic drop-in function
The automatic drop-in function makes loading
the film pure child’s play. Like a battery, the
film cartridge can be pushed into the relevant
chamber. It is no longer necessary to manually
thread the film, because the film leader is insi-
de the IX 240 film cartridge, and is thrust and
loaded automatically once the film has been
inserted into the camera.

xFilmstatus-Anzeige
Die Filmkassette IX 240 verfügt über eine Film-
status-Anzeige. Entsprechend der nebenstehen-
den Abbildung können damit folgende Stadien
angezeigt werden:
xder Film ist unbelichtet,
der Film ist teilbelichtet,
xder Film ist voll belichtet, jedoch nicht ent-
wickelt,
yder entwickelte Film liegt in der Kassette.
Diese Status-Anzeige ist besonders bei der Archi-
vierung des Films von Interesse. Nach der Bear-
beitung im Fotolabor erhalten Sie Ihren ent-
wickelten Film in der Filmkassette liegend
zurück. So ist er gegen Kratzer, Staub und ande-
re Umwelteinflüsse geschützt.

xIndicateur visuel d’exposition
La cartouche de film IX 240 est dotée d’un indi-
cateur visuel d’exposition. Les quatre états sui-
vants peuvent être affichés (cf. illustrations ci-
contre):
xle film n’est pas exposé
le film est partiellement exposé
xle film est totalement exposé, mais pas encore
traité
yle film est développé et se trouve encore dans
la cartouche
Cet indicateur visuel d’exposition est particulière-
ment intéressant notamment pour le stockage
des films. Après son traitement par le laboratoire
photographique, le film vous sera remis dans sa
cartouche à l’abri des rayures, de la poussière ou
de toutes autres agressions extérieures.

xVisual exposure indication
The IX 240 film cartridge is equipped with a
visual exposure indicator, which, as shown in
the illustration opposite, displays the following
information:
xthe film has not been exposed
the film has been partially exposed
xthe film has been fully exposed, but not pro-
cessed
ythe cartridge holds a processed film
These visual exposure indicators aid in organi-
zing your films. After the film has been proces-
sed by the photo lab, the film cartridge with
the processed film inside will be handed back
to you. In this manner, the film is protected
against scratches, dust, and other harmful fac-
tors.

xIndexprint
Aus Ihrem Fotolabor erhalten Sie mit dem in der
Filmkassette liegenden Film den sog. Indexprint.
Auf ihm sind - auf einem Blick - alle Aufnahmen
des belichteten Films zu sehen.
Durch eine Identifikations- und eine Negativnum-
mer wird das Nachbestellen kinderleicht. Sie fin-
den diese Nummern auf dem entwickelten Film,
dem Indexprint und auf der Rückseite jedes ent-
wickelten Bildes.

xPlanche-index
En plus du film dans la cartouche une planche-
index vous sera fournie. En un clin d’oeil vous
pourrez ainsi survoler toutes les photos contenu-
es dans le film exposé.
Grâce à un numéro d’identification et un
numéro de négatif, le retirage de vos photos
n’est plus qu’un jeu d’enfant. Vous trouverez ces
numéros sur le film développé, la planche-index
ainsi que sur toutes les photos développées.

xIndex print
Photo laboratories hand you back not only the
processed film lying in the film cartridge but
also a so-called index print. This is a single
sheet showing each frame exposed on the
film.
The given identification numbers and those of
the negatives make reordering extremely sim-
ple. These numbers are shown on the proces-
sed film, the index print and every developed
photograph.

xBild-Seitenverhältnis
Die MINOX CD 25 mit dem neuen Advanced
Photo System ermöglicht besonders kreative und
variantenreiche Fotografie. So können Sie mit
Hilfe des CHP-Bildformat-Wählers jederzeit zwi-
schen drei möglichen Bildformaten wählen. Dies
sind im einzelnen:
Kleinformat hat das klassische Bild-
(C=Classic): Seitenverhältnis 2:3,
Vollformat hat das HDTV Bild-Seiten-
(H=High Definition): verhältnis 9:16,
Panorama Format hat das Bild-
(P=Panorama): Seitenverhältnis 1:3.

choisir un des trois formats proposés à l’aide du
sélecteur de format CHP. Les formats suivants

The MINOX CD 25 with the new Advanced
Photo System allows for a particularly wide
range of creative photographic possibilities.
Using the CHP selector, you can choose bet-
ween three different film formats at will. The
following three formats are provided:
Classic format (C): with the classic ratio 2:3
High Definition
format (H): with the HDTV ratio 9:16
Panorama format (P): with the ratio 1:3
