NFC Reader Installation
1. The ACR1222L NFC reader requires the c rrect Smartcard drivers t be installed n the POS c mputer
f r it t perate c rrectly with the Green Receipt pr duct.
2. Bef re y u begin with the installati n pr cess, familiarize y urself with the driver installati n steps utlined
in this d cument.
3. Obtain the ACR1222L Smartcard driver package fr m Advanced Card Systems Ltd and place the driver
package n the POS c mputer. The d wnl ad link f r the Smartcard driver package is pr vided bel w.

4. Extract the c ntents f the ab ve c mpressed package nt the hard drive f the POS c mputer.
5. Plug in the USB based NFC reader int a spare USB p rt n the POS c mputer. The NFC
reader btains it p wer fr m the USB p rt and d es n t require a separate p wer adapt r.

Windows Vista and Windows 7
1. By default, the Micr s ft supplied drivers f r smartcard reader are aut matically installed f r the
ACR1222L. These default drivers are n t rec mmended f r use with the Green Receipt pr duct. Select
“Manage” by right-clicking n the “C mputer” menu.
2. Wait f r the “C mputer Management” applicati n t pen up. Click n the “Device Manager” item.

3. On the right panel, expand the “Smart card readers” gr up. Y u will see ne f the f ll wing depending n
h w up t date the versi n f Wind ws Vista/7 is n the POS c mputer:
a. N default driver has been installed. C ntinue t Step 4.
b. The default “Micr s ft Usbccid Smartcard Reader (WUDF)” has been selected and installed f r the
reader. C ntinue t Step 4.
4. Right click n the “Micr s ft Usbccid Smartcard Reader (WUDF)” item t select the “Update Driver
S ftware…” pti n.

5. Select the sec nd pti n “Br wse my c mputer f r driver s ftware”.
6. Use the “Br wse…” butt n t navigate t where y u had previ usly extracted the driver files t .

7. In s me cases y u will be pr mpted t verify the s urce f the driver. Select “Install” if y u are certain that
y u btained the installati n pr gram fr m the manufacturer.
8. F ll w the instructi ns n the screen t c mplete the installati n.
9. Wait f r the drivers t be installed.

10. On Wind ws Vista and later, y u will see the “Driver S ftware Installati n” screens appear during
installati n.
11. Y u sh uld see the f ll wing five (5) devices listed in the Smart car readers gr up if the driver installati n
was successful:
a. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader Bus Driver”
b. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader PICC”
c. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader SAM”
d. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader SAM”
e. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader SAM”

Windows XP
1. On Wind ws XP, y u will see a different set f screens fr m the ab ve. The “F und New Hardware”
message will p p up in the b tt m right c rner f the screen.
2. On Wind ws XP, the “F und New Hardware Wizard” will be displayed.
3. Select “N , n t this time” pti n.

4. Select “Install fr m a list r specific l cati n (Advanced)” pti n n the next displayed screen.
5. Uncheck “Search rem vable media (fl ppy, CD-ROM…)”
6. Use the “Br wse…” butt n t navigate t where y u had previ usly extracted the driver files t

7. On Wind ws XP, the Wind ws L g testing warning message will appear. Click n “C ntinue Anyway” t
install the driver.
8. The ab ve steps will be repeated f r each f the f ur (4) remaining devices. Y u sh uld see “F und New
Hardware Wizard” repeated f r the f ll wing f ur (4) additi nal devices:
a. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader PICC”
b. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader SAM”
c. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader SAM”
d. “ACR1222 3S PICC Reader SAM”
9. On Wind ws XP, the “F und New Hardware” message will p p up again n the b tt m right f the screen
t let y u kn w that the new hardware is installed and ready f r use.

Contactless Card Reader
1. The c ntactless card reader is used f r Near Field C mmunicati n (NFC) functi nality and needs t be
enabled. Use the “Reader” c nfigurati n area t select the “ACR1222L (USB)” reader. The
“C mmunicati n” settings are n t applicable and sh uld be ign red f r the ACR1222L (USB) reader.
2. Y u will be pr mpted t restart the system after y u make changes and save the c nfigurati n. Y u can
ch se t defer the restarting f the system at a later time after all the required changes have been made.

3. The Green Receipt will turn the backlight f the ACR1222L t ON and will display the “Please Present
Card” message.
 The NFC reader installati n and c nfigurati n pr cess is c mplete.

1. The cust mer can tap their NFC enabled smartph ne r a pre-pr grammed MIFARE card anytime bef re
the cashier has finalized the sale.
2. The Green Receipt has been designed t use the built-in share c ntact functi nality f NFC enabled
smartph nes t accept the delivery address f r the digital/paperless receipt. Refer t the NFC enabled
smartph ne f r instructi ns. In additi n, ur website has s me tut rials f r the c mm nly used NFC
enabled smartph nes.

F r “Write Tag” - The c ntactless card is n t a MIFARE Ultralight r
the MIFARE Ultralight is n t writable.
Thank Y u - The unit has accepted the v-card inf rmati n fr m the smartph ne r
the c ntactless card. The next receipt will be sent t the email address
identified in the v-card
Present Blank Card - The unit is ready t pr gram a MIFARE Ultralight with cust mer
delivery address

Programming MIFARE Ultralight
1. The Green Receipt has a built-in feature that all ws y u t pr gram MIFARE Ultralight cards/tags with
cust mer delivery address f r th se cust mers wh d n t have NFC enabled smartph nes.
2. Select the Write ag… menu fr m the Green Receipt tray ic n.
3. Please n te that the Write Tag wind w will n t all w the cashier t enter an email address if the system is
n t c nfigured c rrectly and the Status n the c ntr l panel is rep rting the “Error” message.
4. Enter a valid email address and click n Write.
5. The NFC Reader will beep and display “Present Blank Card”. Please n te that it c uld take up t 5
sec nds f r this message t appear. Tap a blank r writable MIFARE Ultralight and wait f r the “Thank
Y u” message fr m the reader. The MIFARE Ultralight is n w ready f r use by the cust mer and can be
attached t the back f his/her smartph ne.
