Followtheheatingequipmentmanufacturer’sguidelineandsafetystandardssuchasthose
publishedbytheNationalFireProtectionAssociation(NFPA),theAmericanSocietyforHeating,
RefrigerationandAirConditioningEngineers(ASHRAE),andthelocalcodeauthorities.
Whencuttingordrillingintowallorceiling,donotdamageelectricalwiringandotherhidden
utilities.
Ductedfansmustalwaysbeventedtotheoutdoors.
Donotmakealterationstotheoriginalwiring.
Donotattempttorepairorreplaceanypartofyourhoodunlessitisspecificallyrecommended
inthismanual.
Allotherservicingshouldbereferredtoaqualifiedtechnician.





BEFOREINSTALLINGTHEHOOD

Forthemostefficientairflowexhaustuseastraightrunorasfewelbowsaspossible.
Ventunittotheoutsideonly.
Twopeoplearerequiredforinstallation.
Removetherangehoodfromthecartonpackagingandplaceonaflatsurfacefor
assembly.

ELECTRICREQUIREMENTS

CAUTION:THISAPPLIANCESHOULDBEPROPERLYGROUNDED.

Thishoodmustbepowersupplied120V,60Hz,andconnectedtoanindividual,properly
groundedcircuit(3-prongoutlet).

Iftheelectricalsupplydoesnotmeetaboverequirements,callalicensedelectricianbefore
proceeding.

Routehousewiringascloseaspossibletotheinstallationlocation,intheceilingorbackwall.

Thehoodmustbeconnectedtothehousewiringinaccordancewiththelocalcodesandnorms.



PREPARINGTHEINSTALLATION

Forhouseholduseonly.Nottobeusedtoexhaustexplosiveordangerousfumesormaterials.

Foryoursafetyandforoptimumperformance,refertothe‘InstallationDrawings’forthedistance
requiredbetweenthecooktopandtherangehoodtakingintoconsiderationtheheightoftheceiling.
Iftheinstructionsforinstallationofthegashobspecifyagreaterdistance,thishastobetakeninto
accountaswell.

Theexhaustairmustnotbedischargedintoachimneywhichisusedforexhaustingfumesfrom
otherappliancesburninggasorotherfuels.

 Determinetheexactlocationoftheventhood.Mark
thelocation.Findthecenterlineofthecooktop.Usea
leveltodrawaverticalstraightpencillineonthewall.

Plantherouteforventingexhausttotheoutdoors.Usethe
shortestandstraightestductroutepossible.Makesurethe
firstductrunsisatleast12’’beforeredirecting.Longduct
runs,elbowsandtransitionswillreducetheperformanceof
thehood.Useasfewofthemaspossible.Largerducting
mayberequiredforlongerductruns.

 Installawallcapwithdamperorroofcapattheexterior
opening/wall.Jointhewallorroofcaptotheductwork. 

Connectroundmetalductworktocapandworkbacktowardsthehood
location.Use2"metalfoilducttapetosealthejoints.

Forceilingsof8’,thehooddistanceaboveanelectriccooking
surfacemustnotbelessthan28”andnotlessthan30’’foragas
cookingsurface.


Forceilingsof9’ormore,theminimumhooddistancemustbe

Intheeventofanelectricalshortcircuit,groundingreducestheriskofelectricshockby
providinganescapewirefortheelectriccurrent.Thisapplianceisequippedwitha3-prong
groundingplug.Theplugmustbeconnectedintoanoutletthatisproperlyinstalledand
grounded.

A110-120volt,60Hz,fuse-protectedpowersupplyonaseparate15ampscircuitfusedatboth
endsofthelineisrequiredfortheinstallationofthisproduct.

Donotgroundonagasline.

Thehoodmustbeconnecteddirectlytothefusedisconnectbox(orcircuitbreaker)witha
flexibleshieldedornonmetallicsheathedcoppercable.AU.L.voltagereducer-orC.S.A.-
mustbeinstalledateachendofthepowercable.

Donotuseanextensioncordorplugadaptertoconnectthisunit.

Settheelectricalpowersupplywithinthespacecoveredbythedecorativechimney.

Positiontheoutletoffsetsothatthepowercordwillnotinterferewiththeroundduct.

Makesurethisdoesnotinterferewithamountingbracketfasteningareaorwiththe
decorativechimney(wherethechimneytouchesthewall).










WHENCUTTINGORDRILLINGINTOWALL,DONOTDAMAGEELECTRICALWIRINGANDOTHERHIDDEN
UTILITIES.WHENBUILDINGFRAMEWORK,ALWAYSFOLLOWALLAPPLICABLECONSTRUCTIONCODES
ANDSTANDARDS.


Toconstructwoodwallframingthatisflushwithsurfaceofwallstuds,ensurethat:
a)Theframingiscenteredoverinstallationlocationandissturdyenoughtosupportthe
weightofthehood.
b)Theheightoftheframingwillallowthemountingbrackettobesecuredtotheframing
withinthedimensionsshown.

Afterwallsurfaceisfinished,carefullycenterandlevelthehoodmountingbracket,secureitto
wallframingwiththree(3)no.8x1½"mountingscrews.Tightthescrewscompletely.
IMPORTANT:Makesurethatholeslocationsareleveled,andcorrectlycenteredbythevertical
centerline(thisinstallationinstructionappliesforconcretewalls).

WARNING 
TWO(2)PEOPLEAREREQUIREDTOLIFTANDPOSITIONTHEHOODONTOTHEMOUNTINGBRACKET.

INSTALLINGTHEUPPERCHIMNEYMOUNTINGBRACKET


Centerthebracketoverthehoodlocationandplaceitflushwiththe
ceiling.
Makesurethattheslotsoftheupperchimneybracketpointdown.
Usetheupperchimneymountingbracketasatemplatetomarkthe
positionofitsscrews.
Drillbothscrewholesusinga5/16"drillbit.
Inserttheincludeddrywallanchorsintothedrilledholes(oneperhole).
Securetheupperchimneybrackettothewallusingtwo(2)no.8x1½"mountingscrews.
Makesurethatthebracketistightagainstthewall.

WARNING 
BECAREFULWHENINSTALLINGTHEDECORATIVECHIMNEYANDHOOD,THEYMAYHAVESHARP
EDGES.
CAUTION
ATTHISSTAGE,DONOTREMOVETHEPROTECTIVEPLASTICFILMCOVERINGTHEDECORATIVE

Installthe6"roundadapter/damperontopofthehoodusingfour(4)no.8x7/16"mountingscrews.
Alignthehoodandcenteritabovethehoodmountingbracket.Gentlylowerthehooduntilit
securelyengagesintothebracket.
Withthehoodhanginginplace,drillthroughbothholeslocatedatthebackofthehoodusinga
5/16"drillbit(seeFig.2).
Inserttheincludeddrywallanchorsintothedrilledholes(oneforeachhole).Inserttwo(2)no.8x
1¼"mountingscrewsintwo(2)washers,theninsertintothedrywallanchors.Verifythatthehood
iscenteredandleveled.Tightenallscrewscompletely.
Removeprotectiveplasticfilmcoveringthelowerchimneyonly.
Ifpossible(whenspaceissufficient),installthelowerchimneybrackettothechimneyusingtwo(2)
no.8x7/16"mountingscrews,makingsurethattheslotspointup(seeFig.3).
Carefullyplacebothchimneysontopofthehood.NOTE:Slightlyslideuptheupperchimneyto
avoiddamagingit.
Slidea6"metalroundductovertheadapter/damper(seeFig.2).Usemetalfoilducttapetoseal
thejoint.
Plugthehood’spowercordintotheoutlet.
Slideuptheupperchimneyuntilitisalignedwithitsmountingbracket.Thebracketmustbeinside
thechimney.Securetheupperchimneytoitsbracketusingtwo(2)no.8x7/16"mountingscrews.
Removeprotectiveplasticfilmcoveringtheupperchimneyandthehood.






