AT THIS POINT THE ALA M SHOULD SOUND WHEN DOO

IS TU NED TO THE (ON) POSITION WITH THE DOO
CLOSED. FI ST CHECK #3 F OM ABOVE LIST. ALSO
CHECK TO SEE THAT THE UBBE BUMPE IS MAKING
CONTACT WITH THE MECH. SWITCH. (THE UBBE
BUMPE IS LOCATED ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOO AND
SHOULD BE CENTE ED IN THE ECTANGLE WE E MECH.
SWITCH MEETS THE DOO IN THE CLOSED POSITION. )

Battery
o Standby
The battery li e o the alarm is determined by the state o
the alarm. When the alarm is in standby, the buzzer and
strobe o , the alarm will unction in standby or two ull
years with out needing a battery change. It is still
recommended to change battery twice a year
o Full operation
When the unit is activated and the strobe and buzzer are
unctioning, the unit will unction or a ull two hours.
Note: The battery should be changed every time the unit is
activated to ensure ull li e expectance.
o Changing the Battery
The battery can be changed while the unit is still
mounted, or a ter the unit has been removed. In either
case the battery is accessed rom the ront o the unit by
removing the two Phillips head screws and li ting the
battery cover o as shown in Figure 5-1

Note: The battery is to be replaced with an industrial 9v Alkaline
battery.

Features
o Alarm volume
The alarm has a very high decibel level (85-120 db).
The decibel level will vary with the li e o the
battery. See section 5 or more in ormation on
battery li e and when to change.
o Alarm setting
Alarm has the option to be activated in our
di erent settings. See Section 4 or more details on
how to set alarm.
1. Alarm activated when door is opened, shuts o
when door is closed.
2. Alarm activated when door is opened, shut o
with key only.
3. Activates or 30 seconds, when door is opened.
4. Activates or 3 minutes, when door is opened.
o External alarm relay wiring
The optional relay wiring is used to connect the
alarm to an external security monitoring system.
See section 2 or more details.
o Mechanical door switch
The mechanical door switch is used to activate the
unit when the door is opened and deactivate the unit
when the door is closed. See section 2 or more
details.
o Low battery chirp
Alarm has a low battery chirp to warn when battery
is low. When chirp is heard change the battery as
soon as possible. See section 5 or battery details
and instructions.

Standard Features
o Key Switch
The Key Switch is attached to the right side o the
unit as indicated in Figure 2-1.

Note: If the Key Switch is attached and turned on without
any of the switches attached the unit will be armed and
activate. The unit requires a switch to be deactivated
when armed.

3. Alarm activates for 30sec after door is opened.
To obtain this setting “Dip” switches 1, 2 and 3 will
need to be in the down position while switch 4 is up,
see Figure 4-3.

4. Alarm activates for 3 minutes after door is
opened
To obtain this setting “Dip” switches 1, 2, and 4 will
need to be in the down position and switch 3 in the
up position, see Figure 4-4.

1. Alarm is activated when door is opened, shuts off
when door is closed.
To obtain setting #1 “Dip” switch 1 will need to be
down and the rest up, see in Figure 4-1

2. Door is “open” unit is activated until reset/turned off
with the key switch
Setting #2 can be accomplished by putting all o the
“DIP” switches in the up position see in Figure 4-2

o Mechanical door switch
The mechanical door switch is used to activate
the alarm when the door is opened, deactivate
the unit when the door is closed. Mechanical
door switch is attached to the cabinet and
connects to the le t side o alarm. See Figure 2-1

Section 2
o External alarm relay wiring
The relay wiring is used or connecting the alarm to an
external security system. Wires are connected by inserting
them into the upper slots o the connector as seen in igure
2-2. They can be removed by pressing a small lat blade
screwdriver into the bottom slot that corresponds with the
wire needing to be removed see igure 2-2.

Optional accessories
o Strobe
The strobe is used as a visual indication o the alarm
being activated. The strobe is powered by the alarm
and only requires to be connection to the right side
o the alarm see igure 3-1. When the alarm is in
the o position the strobe will still activate when
the door is open. The strobe can be purchased at the
same time as the alarm or added a ter.

eed switch
The reed switch is used in place o the mechanical
switch. It activates the alarm when the magnetic ield
is broken. This option is available at an additional cost.
