Congratulationson your acquisition of the Aragon D2A2 Digital to Analog Converter. The D2A2
is a state-of-the-art component. Years of dedicated research, extensive testing, and engineering
refinement went into this Aragon exclusive.
Aragon components offer unparalleled flexibility and performance to the discriminating music
lover. Your D2A2 incorporates many advanced design and construction features into a superbly crafted
digital to analog converter.
We recommend playing your D2A2 a minimum of 72 hours before performing any critical
listening. We do understand that most of you will not wait that long. Therefore, please note that your
D2A2 will improve sonicly over the course of the first week if the digital to analog converter is left on.
During this time, you will notice the sound from your D2A2 will become richer, warmer and more open.
After this first week of break-in the high current bias of the D2A2 will allow the digital to analog converter
to reach it's proper operating temperature within 20 minutes from turn on. From this point forward we
strongly recommend that you turn the digital to analog converter OFF when not listening to music.
Your new D2A2 Digital to Analog Converter was diligently hand-crafted, thoroughly tested and
carefully packed at our factory in California, USA. In the unlikely event that your D2A2 is damaged
during shipment, be sure to save the carton as evidence for the freight carriers' inspection and call your
authorized dealer immediately. We strongly recommend that you always save the box and packing
materials should you have to transport your D2A2 for any reason. This is a particularly good idea if you
wish to take full advantage of any future upgrades or options.
CAUTION:
Never ship your D2A2 Digital to Analog Converter without the original packing.

Warranty Registration/Survey card, and of course, this Owner's Manual. Please follow the instructions
contained in this manual in order to derive the maximum performance, flexibility and enjoyment from
your D2A2 Digital to Analog Converter.
Be sure to complete and return your factory registration card immediately. This will entitle you to our
extended warranty as outlined on the warranty card.

6. LEFT & RIGHT ANALOG OUTPUTS
These are the main audio outputs.
7. TOSLINK INPUT
This is the optical toslink digital input.
8. AES-EBU INPUT
This is the balanced AES-EBU digital input.
9. COAX INPUTS
These are the RCA \ Coax digital inputs.
10. A/C POWER CONNECTOR
This 3 prong connector is for the A/C power
input.

This light will be on whenever the D2A2 is in
the on position.
2. SIGNAL LOCK INDICATOR
This light will be on whenever the D2A2 is
locked on to a digital input..
3. HDCD INDICATOR
This light will be on whenever the D2A2 is
locked on to a digital source that is
encoded in HDCD.
4. POWER ON-OFF I SOURCE SELECTOR
This dual function knob turns the power on
and off when turned to the right an scrolls
through the inputs when toggled to the left.
5. SOURCE INDICATORS
These lights indicate which input source
has been selected.

SYSTEM SETUP
This section provides you with the setup procedures to easily connect the D2A2 digital to analog
converter to your system.
General Precautions
. Always mute your preamp before plugging in or unplugging the analog outputs of your D2A2.
. Do not plug in or unplug any of the digital inputs when the D2A2 is on.
. Your D2A2 is designed to be free standing, placed on an audio rack or stacked with other
components.
SETUP
1. INPUT CONNECTION
Using appropriate cables (ACA, XLA or optical) connect the output source (CD transport, Laserdisc
player, DSS, etc.) to the corresponding digital input on the back of your D2A2. Consult your
authorized Aragon dealer for his or her recommendations on cables.
2. OUTPUT CONNECTION
Using appropriate ACA cables connect the left and right analog outputs of your D2A2 to the
corresponding inputs of your preamplifier.
3. POWER CONNECTION
Plug the A/C power cord into the back of your D2A2 and then into your A/C wall outlet.
