SAFETY WARNINGS AND GUIDELINES
This device is not waterproof. Do not expose it to water or moisture of any kind.
If using this device in a humid environment, ensure that no condensation occurs.
Condensation can damage the speaker driver and/or short the internal
electronics.
Fully charge this device prior to use.
If left unused for a long period of time, the battery should be charged at least
once every three months to ensure that it remains capable of holding a full
charge.
This device has no user serviceable parts. Do not open the case or otherwise
attempt to modify this device.
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing this Portable Mini Melody Bluetooth Speaker!
This compact speaker features a wireless Bluetooth connection with a range of up to 32
feet (10 meters). It also includes a physical 3.5mm wired connection for ultimate
flexibility and convenience. The built-in microphone allows you to use this as a
speakerphone for making and receiving telephone calls using your Bluetooth-enabled
phone.

CHARGE LEVEL INDICATION
The LED indicator will begin flashing red when the battery charge level is low. When it
does, charge the speaker by following the instructions in the Charging section below.
Depending on your device, a battery level icon may appear on
screen. The icon will have a short, red bar when the charge level is
low.

CHARGING
This speaker features a built-in battery, which can be charged from any USB power
source. Perform the following steps to charge the speaker's battery:
1. Slide the Power switch (7) to the OFF position.
2. Plug the USB Micro-B end of the included charging cable into the Micro-USB
Charging port (8) on the speaker.
3. Plug the other end of the cable into a USB power source, such as a computer's
USB port or an AC adapter/wall charger.
4. The LED will blink red while charging, then will turn off when fully charged.
Note: The battery should be fully charged at least once every three months, even
if the speaker has gone unused during that time.
BLUETOOTH PAIRING
This speaker can be paired to a Bluetooth-enabled device either manually or
automatically, using NFC.
Manual Pairing
Perform the following steps to manually pair the speaker with your phone or other
Bluetooth device:
1. Slide the Power switch (7) to the ON position. The speaker will beep and the
LED indicator will begin to blink blue, indicating that the speaker is in Bluetooth
Pairing Mode.
Note: If the speaker is already paired to a device, the LED will instead glow blue
continuously. To unpair the speaker from the other device, press and hold the
Multifunction button (3) for about 3 seconds. The speaker will beep and the
LED will begin blinking blue, indicating that the speaker is ready to be paired with
another device.
2. Open the Bluetooth settings on your device and search for nearby Bluetooth
devices.
3. Locate and select the MP-13271 entry. If prompted for a passcode, enter 0000
(four zeroes). The speaker will beep and the LED indicator will stop blinking and
begin to glow blue continuously.

NFC Pairing
Perform the following steps to automatically pair the speaker with your phone or other
Bluetooth device using NFC:
1. Slide the Power switch (7) to the ON position.
2. Ensure that both Bluetooth and NFC are enabled on your device.
3. Touch your device to the NFC logo on the top left side of the speaker.
4. Your device may prompt you to affirm the
connection. If so, click the Yes option.
5. The speaker will automatically establish a
Bluetooth connection with your device. When the
process is completed, the speaker will beep and
the LED will cease blinking and begin to glow
blue continuously.
PAIRING WITH ANOTHER DEVICE
Although the speaker can be paired with multiple devices, it can only be paired with one
at a time. Perform the following steps to pair the speaker with a different device:
1. Slide the Power switch (7) to the ON position.
2. Press and hold the Multifunction button (3) for about 3 seconds. The speaker
will beep and the LED will begin blinking blue, indicating that the speaker is ready
to be paired with another device.
3. Follow the instructions in the Bluetooth Pairing section above.
DIRECT CONNECTION
If you cannot use a Bluetooth connection, you can use the speaker for audio playback
by connecting it to your device using a 3.5mm stereo audio cable (not included).
Perform the following steps to make a direct connection:
1. Plug one end of a 3.5mm stereo audio cable
(not included) into the AUX port (9) on the
speaker.
2. Plug the other end of the cable into the
headphone output jack on your audio device.
The LED will glow red when using a direct
connection.
Note that when using a direct connection, the volume control buttons on the
speaker are non-operative. Use the volume controls on your audio device to
control the volume level.

TELEPHONE CALLS
If you are using a Bluetooth connection with your phone, the speaker can be used as a
speakerphone for incoming and outgoing calls.
Incoming Calls
When you receive an incoming call, audio playback will automatically pause. You will
hear your phone's normal ringtone and the speaker will beep to indicate that an
incoming call has been received.
To answer the call, press the Multifunction button (3) once.
To reject the call, press and hold the Multifunction button (3) for about 2
seconds.
Once the call has been completed, press the Multifunction button (3) once to
terminate the call. Audio playback will automatically resume.
Outgoing Calls
You can use the speaker as a speakerphone when initiating a telephone call.
Use your phone as normal to initiate the call.
Use the speaker and the built-in microphone as a speakerphone during the call.
Press the Multifunction button (3) once to terminate the call.
AUDIO PLAYBACK CONTROL
When using a Bluetooth connection, the following buttons control audio playback:
Previous < (2): Press to skip back to the beginning of the current track. If already
at the beginning, press to skip back to the beginning of the previous track.
Volume - (1): Press to decrease the volume level.
Multifunction (3): Press to pause/resume playback.
Volume + (4): Press to increase the volume level.
Next > (5): Press to skip ahead to the beginning of the next track.
SLEEP MODE
If the speaker is powered on and no audio signal is present for about 4 minutes, it will
go into Sleep mode. Press the Multifunction button (3) once to exit Sleep mode.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Q1: I slide the Power switch to the ON position, but the LED remains off.
A1: Recharge the battery.
Q2: The volume is too low, even with the volume level set to maximum.
A2: Increase the volume level on your audio source device. For best results, set the
volume level on your source device to near maximum, then use the volume controls
on the speaker to adjust to a comfortable listening level.
Q3: The volume controls on the speaker have no effect.
A3: The volume controls on the speaker are non-operative when using a direct
connection. Switch to a Bluetooth connection to use the volume controls on the
speaker.
