NOTES ON INSTALLING AND USING YOUR NEW WAKETUNES SPEAKERS
TOOLS: A 6 mm Allen wrench and torque wrench are required for installation
Loctite or equivalent thread locker is recommended for Item 7
For best performance, provide 150 to 200W-RMS at 4 Ohm to each speaker
Regularly check all hardware to make sure it is tight
Although the speakers are weather resistant and designed for outdoors use, do not spray
directly into the grill with high-pressure water
Speakers can be painted by scuffing the surface with a Scotch bright pad and using
catalyzed enamel automotive paint. Remove grill and tape speakers for painting

removed, items 6 and 7 are shown
STEP 1: Determine if you are going to access the speaker from the front as shown above or by
removing the wiring terminal on the back of the speaker shown below. It is much easier to
remove the Rear Terminal Cover but it is more difficult to work from that access port.

STEP 2: Once you have access to the inside of the speaker remove the bolt on the inside that is
holding the treaded insert. This threaded insert is shown on the top of the speaker in the above
photo. Note that for the other speaker you will remove the treaded insert on the opposite side.
STEP 3: Insert the Adapter Washer into the round recess on the top of the washer. Next, add the
Tower Collar to the Adapter Washer. Put the M8x50 Bolt WITH LOCTITE through the Backing
Plate. Run the Bolt and backing plate into the Tower Collar from inside the speaker and tighten by
hand. IMPORTANT -Make sure the Backing Plate is oriented as shown above.
STEP 4: Torque the M8x50 Bolt to 10 ft-lbs
STEP 5: Close the speaker back up by reversing what you did in Step 1
STEP 6: IMPORTANT NOTE: Repeat for the other speaker but on the opposite side if you want the
Terminal Covers facing opposite directions as show below. This is our preference but you can
have both facing the same way if you prefer.
Note the Terminal Covers are facing opposite directions. They can be mounted to face the same
direction as this is only a customer preference.

Attaching to the Tower
The rear side of the speaker with the connector should normally go towards the outside of the
boat as shown below. Attach the Collar Bracket to the tower using M8x25 bolts and the Collar
Inserts that matches your size tower (2-1/2” are provided for Monster Towers and a universal kit
with 1-1/2”, 1-5/8”, 1-3/4”, 1-7/8”, 2” and 2-1/4” are provided for other towers). Install the large EV
logo cap to the underside of the speaker to cover the lower mounting area.
A small amount of rotation of the speaker is available to point the speaker towards the outside of
the wake. This should be set once and not continually moved or you may need to retighten the
M8x50 bolt inside the speaker.
Monster Tower, LLC Warranty for WakeTunes Products
Monster Tower warrants these brackets against manufacturers defects for a period of five (5) years.
Anodized surfaces are specifically excluded, as their care and use cannot be controlled by the
manufacturer. Any modifications or improper use, not approved in writing by Monster Tower, shall void
this warranty. Monster Tower is not responsible for personal injury or damage to the boat caused by the
use of this product. Monster Tower’s obligation under this warranty shall not include any transportation
charges or costs of installation or any liability for direct, indirect or consequential damages resulting from
delay or improper installation. Your time would be better spent wakeboarding than reading warranty info.
If you need to make a warranty claim contact Monster Tower at 877-77-Tower to receive a return
authorization, number which is required for all claims. Defects must be reported within 30 days of
discovery.
