Foldable Waldorf Rocker Assembly Instructions

Included pieces:
A. 4 Wooden Side Pieces (2 longer pieces with a
metal prong sticking out and 2 shorter pieces)
B. 8 Slats (either natural or pastel coloured)
C. 2 Wooden and Metal Joint Locks
D. 34 Screws (note only 32 are needed and 2
are extra, for use as needed)
E. 1 Bottle of Wood Glue

ASSEMBLY STEPS:
1. You will need either a #2 Robertson (square) screwdriver or a drill with the #2 Robertson bit. Be careful
using a drill to put the screws in as you may over tighten them.
2. To begin, take ONE of the longer sides with the metal prong attached, lay it on the ground, and put a thin
line of glue in each of the 4 grooves.
3. Next insert four of the wooden slats into the grooves. They might wobble a little so be careful not to knock
them out as you insert all four.
If you are building a pastel rocker, you can order the planks as we have done in the product photo (light
pink, orange-pink, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, light purple, natural) or put them in any order you
like.
4. Next, take a short outside piece and add a thin line of glue into each of the four grooves.
5. Place the short piece on top of the four slats that are now standing vertically in the long side, lining up the
grooves with each slat, one at a time, starting with the outside slat (one closest to the handle). Push the
short side piece down firmly to ensure all four slats have been fully inserted into the grooves.

6. Take 8 of the screws and screw the short piece into the slats, ensuring that the screws are flush with the
wood.
7. Squeeze the long and short side pieces together and flip over the unit.
8. Take 8 of the screws and screw the long piece into the slats, ensuring that the screws are flush with the
wood.
9. Repeat steps 2-8 for the other 4 slats, 1 long piece, and 1 short piece.
10. Once both sides are assembled, you simply need to join them with the two Wooden and Metal Joint Locks.

1. To begin, find the metal pin on the inside curve of each Waldorf Rocker side.
2. Align both pins with this hole on the opposite half:
3. Push the pins in fully so they are completely inserted into the opposite half. When this is complete, there
should be no gaps/space between both pieces of wood.

4. Next, use the Wooden and Metal Joint Locks to secure the two sides together. Push it in as far as you can
and then screw it until it’s tight. Avoid over tightening and stripping the screw.
5. Once both Wooden and Metal Joint Locks are securely tightened, you are ready to play.
WARNING: CONTINUOUS ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED. As this can be considered a
climbing apparatus, please be aware that injuries can occur. Inspect the item before each use
and ensure that it seems safe to use and is sturdy.
Only use with The Montessori Room climbers on the floor.
Ensure that the surrounding area is safe. Do not place it near hard edges or sharp corners. Use
a cushioned mat underneath.

Strangulation Hazard. Never allow children to play with ropes, pet leashes, cables, or cord-like
items while using this item or attach them to this item.
Never allow children to wear loose-fitting clothing, ponchos, hoods, necklaces, scarves, or items
with draw strings when using this item.
