This User Guide provides you with all the information you need to get the
most from your phone.
Before you make your rst call you will need to set up your phone. Follow
the simple instructions in ‘Getting Started’, on the next few pages.

7Getting started
1. Getting started
IMPORTANT
Do not place your IT.6TX in the bathroom or other humid areas.
Location
You need to placeyourIT.6TX base within 2 metres ofthe mains power socket and
telephone wall socket so that the cables will reach.The socket-outlet should be installed
near the equipment and should be easilyaccessible.
Make sure it is at least 1 metre away from other electrical appliancesto avoid interference.
Your IT.6TX works by sending radio signals between the handset and base.The strength
of the signal depends onwhereyou placethe base. Putting it as high as possible ensures
the best signal.
HANDSET RANGE
The unit has a range of up to 300 metres outdoors when there is a clear line of sight
between the base and handset. Any obstruction between the base and handset will
reduce the range signicantly. With the base indoors and the handset either indoors or
outdoors, the range will normally be up to 50 metres. Thick concrete and stone walls can
severely aect the range.
SIGNAL STRENGTH
The icon on your handset indicates that you are within range of the base. When out
of range of the base, the icon disappears. If you are on a call, you will hear a warning
beep.
If you are on a call, the line will hang up if the handset moves out of range of the base.
Move back within range. The handset will automatically re-connect to the base.
Setting up
IMPORTANT
The base station must be plugged into the mains power at all times. Do not connect the
telephone line cord into the wall socket until the handset is fully charged. Use only the
power adaptor and telephone line cord supplied with the product.

Connecting the base
1. Plug the telephone line cord into the socket marked on the underside of the base.
2. Plug the poweradaptor into the socket marked on the underside of the base and
plug the other end into the mains powerwall socket. Switch on the mains power.
Charging the handset
1. If you are charging the batteries for the rst time, place the handset on the base to
charge forat least 24 hours continuously.
2. When the handset is fullycharged, the icon will appear steady onthe display. Plug
the other end ofthe telephone line cord (make sure that one end is alreadyplugged
into the base) into the telephone wall socket.
NOTE
You cannot access the battery in the handset. Do not attempt to remove the battery, as
you may damage the phone. If you need to replace the battery, contact customer service
helpline found in this user guide.
Connecting the handset and charger
(for multi-pack only)
If you have purchased a multiple pack, you will need to carry out this process for all the
handsets and chargers.

Handset and handset number (e.g. 2) to indicate that it is registered
to the base.
BATTERY LOW WARNING
If you hear a warning beep every 2 minutes during a call, you will need to recharge the
handset before you can use it again.
When charging, the icon will scroll on the display.
Removing the back cover
If you have purchased an IT.6TX with extra colour covers or have purchased the covers
separatelyyouwill need to remove the original coverto then replace with the new cover.
1. To remove the cover push down and slide the covero.
2. To replace the cover, line up the hooks on the coverwith the slots in the back of the
handset and slide up until it is in place.
BATTERY PERFORMANCE
In ideal conditions, fully charged batteries should give up to 7 hours talk time or up to 130
hours standby time on a single charge.1

Note that new batteries do not reach their full capacity until they have been put to normal
use for several days.
To keep your batteries in the best condition, leave the handset o the base for a few hours
at a time.
Running the batteries right down at least once a week will help them last as long as
possible.
The charge capacity of the rechargeable battery will reduce with time as it wears out,
giving the handset less talk / standby time. Eventually it will need to be replaced, please
contact customer service helpline found in this user guide.
After charging your handset for the rst time, subsequent charging time is about 6–8 hours
a day. Batteries and the handset may become warm during charging. This is normal.

Setting up your IT.6TX
Welcome screen
1.
Welcome is displayed and scrolls in dierent languages. Press M. The country name
is shown on the display.
2. Scroll uor dto your country and press M.
Conrm? is displayed.
3. Press Mto conrm.
The handset and base will reset to load the correct settings and you will be prompted
to set the date and time (see below from line 3). The standby screen is then displayed
and your phone is readyto use.
You can still make and receive calls without rst selecting your country and network
operator, however the Welcome screen will re-appear until you have congured your
phone country settings.
Date and time
If you have subscribed to a Caller ID Service and Auto Clock is set to on (see page 28), the
date and time is set automaticallyfor all handsets whenyou receiveyourrst call. IfAuto
Clock is set to othe time and date does not set automatically.
If you do not have a Caller ID service,you can setthe date and time manually.

Clock/Alarm and press M.

3. Enterthe date using the format DD-MM-YY e.g. 04/08/15 for 4 August 2015 and press
M.
4. Enter the time using the 24 hour format
HH:MM , e.g. 14:45 for 02.45pm and press M.
5. Press eto return to standby.

Navigating the menus
The basic steps of navigating through the menu and on-screen options.
1. From the standby screen, press M.
The main menu is opened.
2. Use the c(u) or B(d) keys to scroll through the menu.
3. Soft key options

NOTE
If you do not press any button on the handset for 30 seconds the display will automatically

3.1 Make a call
1. Press t.
2. Dial the telephone number.
3.2 Pre-dial
1. Enterthe phone number (maximum 24 digits). If you make a mistake press b.
2. Press tto dial the phone number entered.
3. Press tagain to dial over hands-free.
3.3 Dial direct memory numbers 1 to 9
1. Press and hold a keyfrom 1to 9 until the numberis displayed and dialled.
NOTE
To store a direct memory number see page 23.
3.4 Call from the phonebook
1. Press d.The rst entryin the phonebook is displayed.
2. Scroll uor dto the entry you want.
3. Press tto dial the number.
4. Press tagain to dial over hands-free.
NOTE
Instead of scrolling to browse the phonebook entries, press the numeric key corresponding
to the rst letter of the entry you wish to locate. For example, pressing 2will show the
entries starting with A. Pressing 2again will show the entries starting with B, etc...
3.5 Call from the Calls list
NOTE
You need to subscribe to your network’s Caller ID service to be able to see the caller’s
number in the Calls list. See “Calls list” on page 24 for more details.

3.6 Answer a call
1. When the phone rings and flashes inthe display, press tto answer the call.
2. Press tagain to answer the call via hands-free.

3. To switch between hands-free and the earpiece press t.
IMPORTANT
When the phone is ringing, avoid holding the earpiece too close to your ear as it may
damage your hearing.
NOTE
If Auto Pick up mode (see page 30) is on, simply lift up the handset from its base to answer
the call. The default setting is O. See all “Default settings” on page 36.
An incoming call has priority over other events. Whenever there is an incoming call, other
operations in progress such as phone settings, menu navigation, etc. will be ended.
3.7 Adjust volume
1. During a call, press uor dto adjust the earpiece or hands-freevolume. The level is
shown in the handset display.
3.8 Mute
Mute the microphone so that you can talk to someone else in the roomwithout your caller
hearing you.
1. During a call, press b.The microphone is muted.
2. Press bagain to turn the microphone back on.
3.9 End a call
1. Press e.
Afteryou hang up, the duration the phone is o-hook is displayed for 2 seconds.
NOTE
If auto hang-up is on (see page 31) simply replace the handset on the base to end the call.
The default setting is
On .
3.10 Switch handset on/o
1. Press and hold eto switch the handset on or o.
3.11 Intercom
This feature is onlyavailable when there are at least 2 registered handsets. It allowsyou
to make internal calls,transfer external calls from one handset to another and use the
conference option.
3.11.1 Call another handset
1. Press i.
• If you have two handsets, the other handset is called automatically.
• If more than two handsets are registeredto the base, their numbers are displayed,
e.g. 2345*. Enterthe number ofthe handsetyouwant to call or press lto ring all
handsets.
2. Press eto hang up.

3.11.2 Transfer an external call to another handset
1. During an external call, press i.
Your caller is put on hold.
2. Enterthe number ofthe handsetyouwant to call orpress lto ring all handsets.
If there are onlytwo handsets, the other handset is called automatically.
3. When the other handset answers, announce the callerthen press eto transfer the
call. If the otherhandset does not answer, press ito talk to your caller again.
3.11.3 Three-party conference call
1. During an external call, press i.
Your caller is put on hold.
2. Enterthe number ofthe handsetyouwant to call orpress lto ring all handsets.
If there are onlytwo handsets, the other handset is called automatically.
3. When the other handset answers, announce the call then press and hold ito
connect both calls. If the other handset does not answer, press ito talk to your caller
again.
4. Press eto hang up.
3.12 Voicemail
If you have subscribed toyournetwork’s voicemail service (if available), your IT.6TX
displays when you have a new message.1

You can turn o the icon. When viewing the Calls list, press and hold 5.

4. Phonebook
The IT.6TX handset phonebook can store up to 100 names and numbers.
Numbers can be up to 24 digits long and names up to 12 characters long. Entries are
stored in alphabetical order.
4.1 View and dial phonebook entries
1. Press d. Displayshows the rst entry.
2. Scroll uor dto the entryyou want.
Or
To search alphabetically, press dthen press the keywith the rst letter of the name,
e.g. if the name beginswith N, press 6twice.
The display shows the rst entry beginning with N. If required, press uor dto scroll
to the exact entry.
3. Press tto dial the entry displayed.
4.2 Store an entry
1. Press M. Phonebook is displayed.
2. Press M. Scroll dto
New Entry .
3. Press M.
Enter Name is displayed.
4. Enter a name and press M.
5. Enter a number. Press Mto save.
6. Press eto return to standby.
NOTE
Cancel storing an entry by pressing eat any time during the process.
4.3 Entering names
Use the alphanumeric keypad to enter names in the phonebook.
