Step 3: Poly propylene filter (8809672) filters the solid parts from the water with the size of
max 1 micron
Step 4: RO membrane (8809673), after the 3 step pre filtration the water is pressed with the
booster pump through the RO membrane.
Most RO Membranes are equipped with a TFC (Thin Film Composite) membrane. This type of
membrane has been developed by NASA and have a superior filtration and flow. Because the
membrane is the most expensive part of the system, the lifespan of the membrane and
quality of the produced osmosis water during its lifespan is of great importance. The
diameter of the pores are 0.0001 microns, due to this very small diameter many dissolved
impurities such as bacteria en viruses are filtered out and removed with the waste water.
Step 5: Mixed resin/ DI-filter (8809674) this last filter has a wide range and will remove
nitrate en silicate from the RO water. With help of this filter the produced osmosis water will
be perfectly clean in a way that the TDS and micro Siemens values measured will be
extremely low.
The precise life span of all filters isn’t easy to predict since this is directly determinate by the
quality of the unfiltered inlet water. The resin of the DI-filter has to be replaced once this is
satiated.
Satiation can also occur during standstill of the system, it is recommended to replace the
mixed hars bed filter every 3-5 months to avoid risks.
Step 6: UV light, During this last step the few bacteria that are present 90% is killed by this
treatment.
Note: It is obligated before using the water as a carrier for a semen extender, to determinate
the quality of the water by measuring the conductivity with a calibrated conductivity meter.
As a guidance the following can be kept in mind: the conductivity has to be below 20 Micro
Siemens (preferably measured at 32 °C) the value shown in the display is just a reference.
Connection of the system:
The MS RO 30 is a plug and play system, after connection of the tubes for water inlet (blue),
waste water (red) and the produced Osmosis water (yellow) at the corresponding connection
son the side. Tube can be placed by removing the blue clip, connecting the tube and
replacing the blue clip again
