Introduction 
The 815EPT Pro and 815EPT Pro-R (MS-6337, V5.X) ATX mainboard
are high-performance computer mainboard ba ed on Intel® 815EP/815E
(re erved upon reque t) chip et . The MS-6337 UMB (Univer al Motherboard)
i optimized to upport the whole erie of new generation Intel® Pentium® III
(FC-PGA/FC-PGA2) proce or for high-end bu ine /per onal de ktop
market .
The Intel® 815E chip et integrate a Di play Cache SDRAM controller
that upport a 32-bit 133MHz SDRAM array for enhanced integrated 3D
graphic performance. It i a highly-flexible chip et which i de igned to extend
the ba ic graphic /multimedia PC platform up to the main tream performance
de ktop platform.
The Intel 815E/EP chip et contain two component : the 82815EP
Memory Controller Hub (MCH) and the 82801BA I/O Controller Hub 2 (ICH2).
The MCH integrate a 66/100/133-MHz, P6 family y tem bu controller , AGP
(2X/4X) di crete graphic card, 100/133-MHz SDRAM controller, and a high
peed accelerated hub architecture interface for communication with the ICH2.
The ICH2 integrate an UltraATA/100 controller, 2 USB ho t controller with a
total of 4 port , LPC interface controller, FWH interface controller, PCI inter-
face controller, AC97 digital link, integrated LAN controller, and a hub inter-
face for communication with the MCH.

The PC AlertTM III i an utility you can find in the CD-ROM di k. The
utility i ju t like your PC doctor that can detect the following PC hardware
tatu during real time operation:

If one of the item above i abnormal, the program main creen will be immedi-
ately hown on the creen, with the abnormal item highlighted in red. Thi will

Fuzzy LogicIII
The Fuzzy Logic III utility allow u er to overclock the CPU FSB
(Front Side Bu ) frequency in the Window environment. Select the CPU
frequency you prefer and click Go to apply the frequency or click Save
allowing the y tem to run at the pecified frequency each time when the
y tem i powered on.

D-LED & D-Bracket
The D-LED u e graphic ignal di play to help u er under tand their
y tem. Four LED embedded in the mainboard provide up to 16 combination
of ignal to debug the y tem. The 4 LED can debug all problem that fail the
y tem, uch a VGA, RAM or other failure . Thi pecial feature i very
u eful for the overclocking u er . The e u er can u e the feature to detect if
there are any problem or failure .
To facilitate u er  operation, the 815EPT Pro & 815EPT Pro-R mainboard
are additionally equipped with D-Bracket connector for diagno i of y tem
problem through external LED . An optional D-Bracket cable would be nec-
e ary for thi function. Plea e refer to D-BracketTM
Connector: J14 in Chapter 2.
Definition of the LED ignal for D-Bracket are the
ame a D-LED a hown below.

System Power ON
- The D-LED will hang here if the processor is damaged or
not installed properly.


Early Chipset Initialization



Memory Detection Test
- Testing onboard memory size. The D-LED will hang if
the memory module is damaged or not installed properly.


Decompressing BIOS image to RAM for fast booting.


Initializing Keyboard Controller.


Testing VGA BIOS
- This will start writing VGA sign-on message to the screen.

D-LED D-Bracket Description


Processor Initialization
- This will show information regarding the processor (like
brand name, system bus, etc)


Testing RTC (Real Time Clock)


Initializing Video Interface
- This will start detecting CPU clock, checking type of video
onboard. Then, detect and initialize the video adapter.


BIOS Sign On
- This will start showing information about logo, processor
brand name, etc.


Testing Base and Extended Memory
- Testing base memory from 240K to 640K and extended
memory above 1MB using various patterns.


Assign Resources to all ISA.


Initializing Hard Drive Controller
- This will initialize IDE drive and controller.


Initializing Floppy Drive Controller
- This will initializing Floppy Drive and controller.


Boot Attempt
- This will set low stack and boot via INT 19h.


