• You should only use your kite in an appropriate flying location
and in appropriate flying conditions. Do not use your kite near
people or obstacles like power lines, airports, buildings, cliffs,
chair lifts, vehicles, trees, roads or fences. Always observe weather
patterns and conditions, particularly where you may encounter
offshore, onshore or strong winds, strong currents, large waves or
avalanches.
• Kiteboarding must be taken seriously and we recommend that
you seek the guidance of professional instructors and experienced
kiters before setting out, particularly if you are new to the sport.
• Take the time to understand and become familiar with your kite
and remember that you are responsible for its operation and for
the safety and security of those around you. Ensure you only kite
in conditions that you are comfortable with and do not attempt to
fly at an advanced level until you have put the practice in.
• When flying Mutiny Kites you should always use the appropriate
protective equipment and floatation devices. Ensure you have
tested and understood your safety and quick release systems as
these could save your life. NEVER permanently attach yourself to
the kite or any kind of anchor.
Kiteboarding is an extremely diverse sport with many different disciplines
each with their own inherent risks of injury or death. Participation in
kiteboarding activities or the use of kiteboarding equipment implies the
users accept the risks and observe the safety guidelines of the sport.
The following contains key points that we advise when operating your
Mutiny kite. This is not an exhaustive list and you should ensure that you
fly within your ability levels and in the appropriate conditions at all times.
• Children should ALWAYS be under adult supervision
• It is strongly recommended that beginners take lessons from a
professional, suitably qualified instructor before using this product.
• ALWAYS inspect your equipment for signs of wear and tear before
you use it. In particular, but not exclusively, lines, canopy
material, bladders, screws and fittings. If any part shows wear it
should be replaced before you use your product. If you require
support with your product then you should contact your local
retailer or Mutiny via the www.mutinykites.com website.

completed using genuine mutiny parts or those parts supplied by
an authorised Mutiny repairer.
• Do not alter, modify or change your product in any way other than
those advised by Mutiny kites.
• Ensure you familiarise yourself with any new location before going
kiting.
• Observe any and all posted signs and warnings.
• Keep out of closed or restricted flying areas.
• NEVER use this kite in the vicinity of power lines, lift lines, trees
or other hazards.

• Maintain a constant eye on conditions and beware of any changes
in conditions.
• Beware of any bystanders and ensure you keep your kite, board
and control systems under control at all times. You (the rider)
are responsible for the safe operation of your kite and its control
systems and it is your responsibility to ensure your own safety and
that of those around you.
• ALWAYS use appropriate safety equipment such as floatation
devices when kiteboarding on water. Wear the appropriate
protective clothing or gear for the conditions. It is recommended
that you wear a helmet whilst kiteboarding.
• ALWAYS ensure you have informed someone of when and where you
are kiteboarding and when you are expected back.
• Do not attempt to launch yourself into the air in any manoeuvre
which could create excessive impact on the rider upon landing.
• NEVER tether yourself to a stationary or moving object.
• NEVER stop where you obstruct others or are not visible.
• Always ensure your equipment is correctly and safely secured on
the ground when not in use. Use objects that will not damage the
kite material in any way.
• Ensure you have the appropriate 3rd party insurance before
commencing kiting.
Safety Guidelines Safety Guidelines
Take Fewer Risks. Do More Kiting. Specific Guidelines for use on Snow or Land
Continued from previous page • Mutiny kites are designed for use on snow or land as a traction
device to propel a rider across open snow fields or open areas in a
controlled and appropriate manner.
• Do not attempt to use your Mutiny kite as a flying device. Do not
use your kite for soaring from ridges, cliffs or slopes.
• Extreme caution must be taken when using this kite in any
mountainous region, on uneven terrain or glacier. Wind conditions
in these areas can be unpredictable and can change in strength,
consistency or direction without warning.

7S-Series User Guide 8
S-Series User Guide
It’s All About Being In the Right Place at the Right Time.
• Kitesports require a large area to enable you (the rider) and those
around you to be safe. Always ensure that the locations you choose
for your kiting activities are appropriate for your ability and the
equipment you are using.
• Always ensure you have enough space to launch and land your
kite, without assistance if necessary. Make sure there are no
obstacles upwind of you as well as downwind. Upwind obstacles
will cause unexpected turbulence which may produce unpredictable
launches. Be sure to consider changeable conditions such as wind
direction and strength, tidal currents and levels and snow drifts
when selecting your kiting location.
• Consider the forecasted weather conditions as well as any local
effects for the area you will be flying. Avoid kiteboarding during
times of severe weather warnings, storm conditions or erratic
weather conditions. If you only have one kite then you should use
that kite in the range of conditions that it is designed for.
• If you are unfamiliar with a particular location we recommend you
proceed with extreme caution. If the conditions look perfect and there
is no-one out then you should consider why not and think carefully
about the location you have chosen. There may be unforeseen hazards
such as strong currents, changeable conditions approaching or an
avalanche warning. Mutiny kites advise that you consider the “if in
doubt, don’t go out” saying before commencing kiting.

Environmental Guidelines
Look After Your Local Spot and It’ll Look After You.
Your Mutiny kite is built to the highest level and we are committed
to minimising waste associated with manufacturing this kite. Where
possible try to look after your local spot and those that you visit. There
are a number of environmental considerations you can make which will
ensure the continued support of the authorities and the local pride for
our greatest kite spots.
• Try to share lifts and reduce the number of vehicles travelling to
your kite location.
• Keep your kite area clean and clear, just because you didn’t drop
the rubbish doesn’t mean you can’t pick it up.
• Minimise impact on the dunes and nature preserves by using the
correct pathways and access methods for the location you are using.
• Take everything with you when you leave your kiting location,
especially any rubbish or packaging.
• Observe all local guidelines and ensure you respect the values of
the local people and the local environment.
Well Done so far, Now Here’s the Exciting Stuff.
We have packaged your Mutiny kite using as little packaging as possible
to ensure you don’t have tonnes of plastic and rubbish to sift through.
Please pay careful attention to the way your kite is folded within the
bag. When finished try to pack it away in the same way. This will help
to reduce the risk of damaging your kite through poor storage and
increase its lifespan.
Carefully unpack your Mutiny product and check each part of it before
use. You should pay particular attention to the valves and quick pump
system to ensure all the valves are open allowing air to access all
areas of you bladder system. Take some time to carefully look at all
the attachment points on your Mutiny kite and ensure you are familiar
with what each one does before setting the kite up. Refer to the
diagram on the following page to familiarise yourself with each and
every part of your new kite.

Kite Setup
Inflating Your Mutiny S-Series
This Couldn’t be Easier with Mutiny’s Quick Pump System
1. Before inflating your kite, be sure that you have enough space and
the area is clear of things that may damage your kite. Remember
you will need plenty of room downwind of your kite to set up your
bar and lines.
2. Unwrap your kite and secure your pump leash to the leash
attachment point. Then position your kite so that you are facing
the leading edge with your back to the wind.
3. Securely attach the correct pump nozzle to the end of the pump
hose. Pump some air through the nozzle to remove any sand or
debris before attaching it to the inflate valve on your kite’s leading
edge.
4. Placing one foot on either side of the pump, pump the kite until
it is hard. You will see the kite make its shape as you pump and
the LE bladder will be hard to the touch. Hopefully you’ll still have
your back to the wind and the kite will be sitting comfortably
downwind of you held in place by the pump leash.
5. Once your kite is inflated, detach your pump leash, turn your kite
over keeping your back to the wind and secure by placing enough
sand for the prevailing wind conditions on the two centre panels.
Be careful of any debris when you are putting sand on your kite.
Do not use anything sharp or any item that could damage your kite
to secure it.
6. Check you have the right bridles and toggles for your desired bar
setup and that they are free from tangles and independent of each
other. Lie them out behind your kite ready to attach your bar and
lines using the downwind set up.

Downwind Setup
The Safest and Easiest Way to Attach Your Flying Lines
With your kite secured facing into the wind and your chosen bridle
system attached you now ready to get your bar and lines ready. Your
Mutiny bar comes setup in 4 line mode with your lines carefully
wrapped and attached correctly.
1. Take the ends of your lines and secure them with sand just behind
your kite.
2. Slowly and carefully unwind your lines moving downwind and away
from your kite ensuring you don’t pull or tangle them as you do so.
3. Lay your bar upside down (red on the right) and weigh it down.
4. Separate you lines with your fingers whilst walking back towards
the kite. This will allow you to remove any twists in your lines.
5. Ensure you carefully separate your 4 line safety system.
6. When you get to the end of your lines separate the line attachment
points and ensure that each one is in the correct position to
attach to your bridle.
7. Attach your lines to your bridles using your simple attachment
points.
8. Walk back to your bar and pick up each of the rear lines, look down
the lines and ensure they are free of any twists or tangles. The
outside lines on your bar should run to the rear of the kite and be
clear of all other lines.

Kite Use
Launching and Landing Your Kite
Look, Signal, Manoeuvre.
Mutiny kites are powerful pieces of equipment and so care should be
taken when launching and landing your kite.
Ensure you have adequately checked for all hazards upwind and downwind
of your launch site. It is important to remember that upwind hazards will
affect the consistency of the wind in your launch site and you should
ensure you have clean wind for your launch and landing. Launching in an
inappropriate location may cause your kite to react unpredictably and it
will be difficult for you to judge the power of the kite.
LAUNCHING YOUR KITE
When launching your kite you should ensure you have the help of a
competent and knowledgeable kiteboarder. Do not ask inexperienced or
non kiters to assist you in launching your kite.
Be sure your safety leash is attached properly and your chicken loop is
connected correctly to your harness.
1. Position your kite at the edge of the wind window and ensure it is
in the correct position with all lines free from tangles and attached
correctly before signalling your helper to release your kite.
2. After launch keep your kite low at the edge of the window and
progress into the kiting area as quickly as possible.
3. You should avoid raising your kite directly above your head on
launch as any gusts in the wind will be more prominent at the top
of the window. We recommend you launch your kite on the water
side of the wind window in case any unexpected problems pull you
off balance.
LAUNCHING YOUR KITE VISUAL GUIDE
LANDING YOUR KITE
You should land your kite at the edge of the wind window with the help
of an experienced kiter. If you are unable to do so you can activate your
safety to land your kite safely and easily.

Kite Use
Activating Your Safety System
Simple, Safe and Reliable Every Time.
To activate your safety system, push away the red part of your Mutiny
Quick Release. This will release your kite onto a front line flag system.
4-LINE SAFETY
• The 4 line safety line is a small line running to one front line of
your kite. The kite will fully depower on the front line and sit
comfortably at the edge of the window.
Never Fear, Easy Relaunch is Here.
At times you will put your kite in the water or on the ground. If you
do this your Mutiny kite is designed with a simple and easy relaunch
system.
• If your kite is sat face down in the centre of the window then you
simply need to pull one rear line to relaunch it. Make sure your bar
is pushed away from you and be careful not to pull in too much
rear line as this may cause the kite to relaunch in the middle of
the wind window or become unrecoverable. You only need to pull
in approximately 25cm of leader line to effect a relaunch.
• You can speed up the process by using your trim strap to depower
the kite a little but remember to release the trim strap after
relaunch to suit your riding.

Packing Up Your Kite
Pack it Better, Keep it Longer.
Packing away your kite correctly can improve its lifespan significantly by
reducing the chance of damage from sharp objects, compressive forces,
UV radiation, salt water and sand. So try to follow the following packing
method whenever you are stowing your kite.
Ensure your kite is clean, dry and free from debris before packing away.
If this is not possible, we suggest you follow these instructions anyway
and when the conditions allow, remove your kite from its bag, clean it
and allow it to dry before packing it away again.
1. Fully deflate your kite, ensuring you leave time for the air to
escape from the struts through the one pump system. you can
either deflate the kite in the centre or from one wingtip.
2. Starting at one wingtip carefully start to fold your kite. Ensuring
your bridles are all inside the kite canopy, slowly roll the leading
edge of the kite, ensuring you push any remaining air from the
struts and leading edge as you go along.
3. (a) If you deflated from the wingtip valve then continue to roll to
the other wingtip.
(b) If you deflated from the centre of the kite, repeat the
procedure from the other wingtip, When you reach the centre of
the kite. You may find it useful to weigh down the rolled end with
sand or your up-turned board but be sure not to use anything
sharp and to remove the sand afterwards.
4. Fold your kite in half from the trailing edge upwards. One fold will
be sufficient to fit in your bag. Do not try to fold your kite more
than once as your trailing edge battens will resist this and you may
damage your kite.
5. Place your kite in your Mutiny bag and go get that post kiting
drink, you’ve earned it.

S-Series User Guide
Look After Your Kite and It Will Look After You.
We want you to get the maximum use from your Mutiny product. To
ensure you do, we suggest you perform some basic kite maintenance on a
regular basis. The list below is by no means exhaustive but does provide
some basic guidelines on how you can care for your kite.
• Always use the kite bag provided for storage.
• Always wash your kite with fresh water after use, especially if it
has been in the sea.
• Dry your kite in an open and well ventilated area before packing it
away. Ideally inflate your kite for maximum aeration.
• Do not leave your Mutiny kite exposed to sun for long periods of
time, just like your skin kites will wear over time due to UV damage.
• Packing your kite away wet can cause bleeding of colours over time
and we advise that you dry your kite and bag before packing the
kite away. Failure to do this could invalidate your warranty.
• If you are in a hot location ensure you let some air out of your kite
before leaving it sitting on a hot surface. The excessive temperature
can cause bladders to expand beyond their design tolerances.
• Do not leave your struts inflated for long periods of time as this
will cause wear and tear to the bladders and kite.
• Do not drag your kite around on the beach or on hard surfaces as
this will damage the material and or bladders in your kite.
• Repair any holes or tears instantly and do not use your Mutiny
kites again until any issue is repaired and has been dealt with.

Kite Advice
Repairs and Your Repair Pack
First Aid for Kites.
Included with your Mutiny kite is a small repair kit. This repair kit is
designed to get you out and flying as quickly as possible. It is only
designed for small repairs, such as small canopy tears, minor bladder
punctures or the replacement of the quick pump tubes.
If you have any tears which extend across a seam on your kite you should
have it professionally repaired and should not use it until it has been
repaired properly.
To repair a small canopy tear:
1. Carefully clean the area around the tear with the alcohol wipe
provided, any salt, sand or residue will affect how much adhesion
you get from your patches.
2. Measure and cut 2 pieces of kite repair tape which are
approximately 2 cm’s larger than the tear on all sides.
3. Stick one patch on each side of the kite and leave the patches with
some weight on them for a minimum of 1 hour.
4. When your repair is complete check there are no air bubbles or
loose edges on the patches.
