Manual Shower Valve
Instructions
Product code:
A05043
Please keep these instructions for future reference.

Installation Requirements
It is important to ensure that the water supplies to your taps and mixers are connected in accordance with the Water
Regulations and good plumbing practice.
It is Wolseley’s recommendation and good plumbing practice that the supplies of hot and cold water to the products
should be equal (balanced) pressures in order to provide a consistent ow. Supplies should be from a common source.
Either mains or tank fed. If supplies are not equal pressures then non return valves should be tted (not supplied).
This product has been designed to function on all types of water of water systems.
Please note: if a pump is to be installed to boost gravity supplies please refer to the pump manufactures instructions.
The hot and cold inlets for any of the products are hot on the left and cold on the right when viewed from the front of
the tting. It is our recommendation and good plumbing practice that a service valve also should be installed up stream
in the inlet supply lines.
Pipe Connections
IMPORTANT. Before making any inlet pipe connections all supplies MUST be thoroughly ushed to remove any
debris. Failure to do so could result in damage or low ow from the tting.
General Installation Notes
• Care must be taken during installation to prevent any risk of damage to the product or injury to installer.
• Installation must be carried out by a qualied and competent person and in accordance with the instructions supplied.
• Installations must comply with all Local and National Water Authority Regulations and Building/Plumbing
Regulations.
• Ensure that you have read and understood all sections of this manual before installation.
Water Supply Pressures
This tting has been designed to function under the following conditions:
• Minimum supply pressure: 0.5 bar
• Maximum supply pressure: 5.0 bar
• Maximum recommended hot water temperature range 60-65 °c.
Generous ow rates are achieved at pressures as low as 0.5 bar. At high pressures it maybe necessary to reduce
excessive ow rates by tting stop or servicing valves in the supply line before the mixer or tap. These stop valves
facilitate ease of maintenance should it be necessary.
SAFETY NOTE
Before starting any new installation please check prior to drilling wall that there are no concealed
electrical wires or water supply pipes.
We recommend this is checked with the aid of an electronic detector.
When using power tools please wear eye protection.

Exposed Shower Valve Installation
1. Important: Flush pipe work prior to installation to remove debris from the system.
2. Turn off water supply following system ushing.
3. The valve should be installed with the water outlet to the bottom and the cold inlet to the right (indicated by a
blue dot). Prepare hot and cold inlet pipes (15mm) with centres 150mm apart, cold supply to the right.
Important: Leave a minimum of 10mm exposed pipe protruding from nished wall surface to allow
xing nut and olive connections.
4. Fit elbows with sealing washer loosely to the tap body.
5. Centre wall bracket between pipe ends and mark drill holes.
6. Important - Use appropriate xings suitable for wall type/construction. See Safety Note overleaf.
Drill holes to suit wall type/construction and required xings (Use wall plugs supplied as required).
7. Position wall bracket on wall and insert screws and tighten, but not fully.
8. Push mixer body onto wall bracket and twist to engage lugs. It may require some manoeuvring to ensure
vertical alignment of the mixer body.
9. Remove mixer body from wall bracket and re-align as marked, then tighten screws holding wall bracket to
wall and re-t mixer body.
10. Fit anges to inlet pipe and t elbows to inlet pipe ends using xing nuts and copper olives and tighten
securely.
11. Place the handle onto the valve, to check that it moves freely left and right. When satised, t grub
screw and tighten with the hexagonal key supplied in pack.
12. Insert cap to the handle.
13. Turn on water supply and check for leaks.

Concealed Shower Valve Installation
IMPORTANT: Before tting the mixer, ush pipes thoroughly. Do not allow dirt, metal particles or
shavings to block inlets. Once this is done, turn off water supply.
1. The Valve should be installed with the water outlet to the bottom and the cold inlet to the right (indicated by a
blue dot). Prepare hot and cold inlet pipes (15mm) with centres 150mm apart, cold supply to the right. For the
mixer, create a hole in wall surface no greater than 110mm, which is smaller than the diameter of the Wall
plate. The valve concealing cavity should be a depth of 50-60mm. Important: for water inlet pipes, leave a
minimum of 10 mm exposed pipework from nished wall surface.
2. Fit elbows with sealing washer loosely to the tap body.
3. Centre wall bracket between pipe ends and mark drill holes.
4. Important - Use appropriate xings suitable for wall type/construction.
See Safety Note overleaf. Drill holes to suit wall type/construction and required xings (Use wall plugs
supplied as required).
5. Position wall bracket on wall and insert screws and tighten, but not fully.
6. Push mixer body onto wall bracket and twist to engage lugs. It may require some manoeuvring to ensure
vertical alignment of the mixer body.
7. Mark position of wall bracket on mounting area within wall cavity. Remove mixer body from wall bracket and
re-align as marked, then tighten screws holding wall bracket and re-t mixer body.
8. Secure elbows to inlet pipe ends using xing nuts and copper olives and tighten securely.

surface). But rst check that handle can operate without contacting wall plate. Place handle loosely on
installed valve and check clearance.
11. With the handle on the valve check that it moves freely left and right. When satised, t grub screw and
tighten with the hexagonal key supplied in pack.
