Thank you for purchasing the NADY MXTS-8 Powered Subwoofer. This unit is designed to
work seamlessly with the NADY MaxTower™ PSS-250 portable line array PA system to deliver
optimal low-frequency impact. The 8” woofer
produces deep, strong bass for keyboards, kick
drum, bass guitar, and other instruments that play in
lower ranges. It connects to the MaxTower™ with a
single mic cable. The MXTS-8 was developed using
the expertise of professional sound engineers and
working musicians. When this subwoofer is used
with your MaxTower™, it will provide a PA with
superior performance and greater flexibility than
any other portable sound systems in its price range.
Please read this manual carefully to get the most out
of your new unit.

WARNING
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Your MXTS-8 is made of a very durable polymer composite material. However, extra care should be taken to protect the
nish and speakers. These simple tips will help reduce wear and tear on your MXTS-8.
1. Read all instructions before using.
2. Avoid direct contact with the speaker. Care should be taken to avoid damage to speakers.
3. Do not use or store around excessive moisture.
4. At very high volume this product may be capable of producing sound levels that could cause hearing damage. Do
not operate at uncomfortable levels for prolonged periods. If hearing loss or ringing in ears in experienced, consult a
physician.
5. The MaxTower should be positioned so that proper ventilation is maintained.
6. Keep away from heat sources such as radiators, heat vents, and other devices (including ampliers) that produce heat.
7. The MXTS-8 should be connected to a power supply described in the operating instructions or as marked. Replace fuse
with correct type, size, and rating.
8. The power supply cord should: (1) be undamaged, (2) never share an outlet or extension cord with other devices so that
the outlet has exceeded the maximum rating, and (3) never be left plugged into the outlet when not being used for a
long period of time.
9. This product should be serviced by qualied service personnel if:
• The power supply cord or the plug has been damaged.
• One of the speakers has been damaged.
• There has been excessive exposure to rain.
• The MaxTower does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a change in performance.
• The unit has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged.
• Do not attempt to service the product beyond what is described in these instructions. All other repairs should be
referred to qualied service personnel.
• Clean only with damp cloth.
STATEMENT OF RoHS COMPLIANCE
The included electronic parts and components are covered by the European Union Removal of Hazardous Substances
directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS). This directive seeks to eliminate the toxic substances released during manufacturing
processes to ensure that disposed of materials do not pose health risks. Considered toxic substances are lead, mercury,
cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDE). Lead
is used together with tin in solder connections to reduce the melting point of solder. Lead-free solder requires higher
soldering temperatures which in turn places greater thermal stress on components.
The MXTS-8 complies with RoHS directives and uses components that are certied RoHS compliant

the literature enclosed with this unit.

INSTALLATION & OPERATION
INSPECTION
Your MXTS-8 was carefully packed at the factory in packaging designed to protect the unit in
shipment. Before installing and using your unit, carefully examine the packaging and all contents
for any signs of physical damage that may have occurred in transit.
[Please note: Nady systems is not responsible for shipping damage. If your unit is
damages, do not return to Nady, but notify your dealer and the shipping company (if
shipped to you) to make a claim. Such claims must be made by the consignee in a timely
manner.]

SETTING UP
• Place the MXTS-8 powered subwoofer (1) on the floor, ensuring there is adequate ventilation.
• The MXTS-8 can either be connected to the MaxTower™ PSS-250 on its own included tripod
speaker stand or the MaxTower™ (2) can be mounted on top of the MXTS-8 with the
optional MTMP-8 mounting pole (3).
• If using the optional MTMP-8 mounting pole, insert it into the mounting bracket (4) on top of
the MXTS-8 subwoofer. Then insert the top end of the pole through the recessed hole at the
bottom of the MaxTower™
• Plug the supplied AC power cord into the rear panel AC 115V jack (5), then the power cord
into a nearby 115VAC power outlet. The MXTS-8 is also available with the internal power
supply factory adjusted for 230VAC operation. Make sure that the unit is turned off before
connecting to the AC power source to avoid possible loud transients that can damage your
speakers or your ears.
• Plug in XLR or ¼” cable from the MaxTower™ output to Line In combo jack (6) of the MXTS-8.
• Turn on unit with Power ON/OFF Switch (7) on rear panel. The Power On LED (8) will light.
• Use LEVEL (9) knob to adjust subwoofer volume to the desired level so bass is in balance with
the volume of the MaxTower™ PSS-250.
• Use CROSSOVER (10) knob to adjust frequency cutoff to desired point between 100Hz and
220Hz for optimal sound.
