1 Using Hi-Line
Ensure that all equipment is switched
off before connecting or disconnecting
interconnect cables.
Hi-Line interconnect cables will operate
most effectively when the whole length of
the cable is able to loop from the source
to the destination without intermediate
contact. Attention paid to this aspect of
installation will bring significant gains.
Hi-Line cables are directional. The end
identified by the light coloured band
should be connected to the source
component. The band is located on DIN
cables at the join between cable and plug
(illustrated below), and on RCA-Phono
cables at the join between the inner cores
and outer sleeve.
Naim Audio products are conceived with performance as the top priority. Careful
installation will help ensure that their full potential is achieved. This manual covers the
Hi-Line interconnect cable.
Introduction
1.1 Air-PLUG DIN Terminations
DIN Hi-Line terminations are by Air-
PLUG connectors. Air-PLUG design and
construction offers vibrational energy
dissipation and mechanical decoupling in
order to minimise the transfer of energy to
and from connected equipment.
The Air-PLUG “floating-pin” construction can
make connection more difficult than with a
conventional DIN plug as each connection
pin must align with its socket. Take great
care when inserting Air-PLUGs that the pins
are aligned correctly. If the plug does not
insert cleanly do not use force but adjust
the alignment slightly and try again.
The flexible Air-PLUG tail section can be
damaged by inappropriate handling. Grip
Air-PLUG only by its metal and opposing
plastic body parts - rather than by its tail.

Schalten Sie stets sämtliche Geräte aus,
bevor Sie Signalkabel stecken oder ziehen.
Um die bestmögliche Klangqualität
zu gewährleisten, sollte das Hi-Line so
angeschlossen werden, dass das Kabel
auf ganzer Länge zwischen den beiden
Steckern frei in der Luft hängt und keinen
Kontakt zu Gegenständen hat. Andernfalls
kann die Klangqualität stark beeinträchtigt
werden.
Das Hi-Line ist an einem Ende mit einem
hellen Bändchen zur Kennzeichnung
der Ausrichtung versehen; das Ende mit
dem Bändchen sollte an die Signalquelle
angeschlossen werden. Bei der mit
DIN-Steckern konfektionierten Variante
Naim-Audio-Produkte werden mit dem Ziel entwickelt, höchste Klangqualität zu bieten.
Eine sorgfältig durchgeführte Installation gewährleistet, dass das klangliche Potenzial
der Produkte ausgeschöpft wird. Diese Bedienungsanleitung enthält Informationen zum
Signalkabel Hi-Line.
Einleitung
des Hi-Line befindet sich das Bändchen
am Übergang zwischen Stecker und
Kabel (siehe Abbildung), bei der mit
Cinchsteckern konfektionierten Variante an
der Stelle, an der die Einzelleiter aus dem
Außenmantel austreten.
1.1 DIN-Stecker Air-PLUG
Die DIN-Variante des Hi-Line ist mit
Steckern des Typs Air-PLUG konfektioniert.
Die vibrationsabsorbierende und
entkoppelnde Konstruktion des Air-PLUG
minimiert die Übertragung von Vibrationen,
die in den beiden angeschlossenen
Geräten entstehen oder über Luftschall
aufgenommen werden.
Aufgrund der schwimmend montierten
Kontaktstifte des Air-PLUG kann das
Anschließen des Hi-Line etwas mehr
Sorgfalt erfordern als das von Kabeln mit
herkömmlichen DIN-Steckern. Achten Sie
beim Stecken des Air-PLUG darauf, dass
die einzelnen Kontaktstifte auf die jeweilige
Kontaktbuchse ausgerichtet sind. Wenn Sie
beim Ansetzen des Air-PLUG Widerstand
spüren, versuchen Sie nicht, den Stecker
in die Buchse zu drücken. Richten Sie ihn
stattdessen neu aus und versuchen Sie es
nochmals.
Das flexible hintere Ende des Air-PLUG
kann durch unsachgemäße Behandlung
beschädigt werden. Fassen Sie den Air-
PLUG daher stets an dem Ende mit festem
Plastikgehäuse und Metallaufsatz.
