1. GrasptheAGRboardedgesinyourlefthandwiththemotorfa ingyou.Pin htherotorshaftwithyour
rightthumbandindexfinger.
2. Holdthepin hedshaftstationary,rotatetheAGRboard90degreesCW(andthustherotorturnsCCW).
Note:Therotormovementissosmooth,you’reunlikelytosenseit.
3. Releaseyourpin hontherotor.Re-Co ktheAGRtorotateitCWagain.
4. Repeatsteps1thru3,fourtofivetimes.

1. Withyourfingers,gentlypry/slidethebezeloff.
2. RemovetheFrameMountings rews;usea#2Phillips
s rewdriver.Thes rewsarethreadedintohexstand-offs
whi hsupporttheinternalframe.Removeallthrees rews.
Note:thestand-offmaytwistfreefromtheframebefore oming
loosefromthes rew.Thisisok.Fortheobje tiveistofreethe
framefromthe ase.(Seepi inAssemblystep6.)
3. Fromthefront,removetheentiredialfromthe ase:this
in ludestheLens,LensGasket,DialandFrame(andany
stand-offsstillatta hed).
4. SlidetheLens/gasketupandofftheAdjustments rew.
5. Witha¼”nutdriver,removethethreehexstand-
offsfromtheframeand/or ase.
6. Prytheindi atorneedleloosefromtherotor:
a. Toprote tthedialfa e,pla e2masking
tapestripsundertheneedle,on
oppositesidesoftherotor.
b. Neartherotor,slidetwosmallflathead
s rewdriversundertheneedlefrom
opposingdire tions.Withtheirblades
flatonthetape,gentlytwist/prythe
s rewdriversshaftsuptoreleasethe
needle.

7. Noweva uateallthepressure-me hani al omponents

dialfromtheframe.
a. UsingDiagonalCutters,snipthespindleshaft,
andremove.
b. ContinuetoturntheAdjustmentS rew
Counter-Clo kwiseuntilit’sloose,and
remove.Don’tloseitsspringandwasher.
. FindtheRetainingS rewandremoveit.
(Thes rewheadmaybehexshaped).
d. Extra talltheloosepartsthrutheframeside
opening.
8. Forthenexttwosteps,it’sre ommendedtose uretheframeinavise.Prote ttheframefromvise-jaw
marswith ardboard.Pointthedialawayfromthejaws,andpla etheframeatthejawends.Modestly
pin htheframe,yetnotalterit.
9. Extra ttheDiaphragm.
a. As losetothenutas
possible,useaha ksawto
utoffthebrassnipple.
b. Graspthediaphragmwith
pliers,andloosenthenut
witha7/16”wren h.
. It’satightfit,but oaxthe
loosediaphragmoutofthe
frame.
10. Framemodifi ations:
a. Drill-outthetwo entermountingholesto1/8”diameter;seepi ture.Fileanyrawedgesmooth.
b. Usingpliers,flextheSpindleMountsba k-and-forthuntiltheybreakoff.Fileoffanysharpedges.

oldspindlemounttotheleft;seepi ture.With
MotorpointedtowardstheDial’sba kside,from
theleft,starttheAGRintotheframe’snarrow
ba kslot.ContinuetoslidetheAGRinbeing
arefulnottobend/tweaktherotor.Snipthe
plasti motorregistrationpinsasneededfor
learan e.Stopwhentherotorprotrudesthru
thedial’s enterhole.
4. Fromtheba kside,insertthetwo#4-40x5/16”s rews
thrutheAGR’s enterslotsandtheframeholes.Thread
onthe#4nuts.Visually onfirmtherotoris enteredon
thedial,andtighten.
5. ReturntheAdjustments rewintothedial,thenthruits
spring/washer,andthreaditsnuglyintotheframe.
6. Threadthethreehexstand-offsba kontotheFrame;Note:findthe
orre tframeholestoalignwiththeCaseholes.
7. Se uretheExternalGPS onne tortothe ase:
a. RemovetheFrontNutfromtheExternalGPSConne tor.And
retra ttheBa k-nut(CCW),yetleaveallitsthreadsfully
engaged.
b. Fromwithinthe ase,sliptheExternal
GPS onne torintothe ase’s enter-
mosthole.
. Fromthe aseoutside,applythe
Front-Nut.Pointthe onne torkeyway
towardstheTopofDial.Tightensnug
witha17mmwren h.
8. Feedthehook-upwiresthruthegrommet.

9. Insidethe ase,about¾”fromtheExternalGPS onne tor,gentlyfolditswiresover.Coarselyalignthestand-
offswiththeir orresponding aseholes,andslidetheFrame/Dialassemblyintothe ase.
10. FastentheFrametothe ase:
a. Startea hframes reww/washerthruthe aseandintothestand-off.Asrequired,slightlyrotatethe
Dialtoalignastand-offwithahole.
b. Withallthrees rewsinserted,presstheDialfirmandsquarelyintothe ase,and enter.
. Tightenthes rews.
11. Atta htheneedleindi ator.
a. Theneedleshouldbeasnugpress-fitontotherotor.Iftheneedleeasilyslidesontotherotorand
spinsfreely,dothefollowing…
i. adhesiveisrequired:Non-permanent
Thread-Lo ker
,orNail-polish.
1. WithaTooth-pi k,addaminus uledabofadhesive,to‘blob’therotorend.Allowthe
blobsetorget‘ta ky’(3-4minutes);avoidex essthatwillrundowntheshaftand
inhibititfromturning.
2. PresstheneedleonfullyandrotateCCWonetime.
3. Removetheneedle.Waitanother4-5minutes.
b. Withtheneedlepointedtowards15MPH.Partiallystarttheneedleontotherotorshaft.
. RotatetheneedleCCWuntilitis enteredon5MPH.
d. Presstheneedlefullyontotheshaft.(Allowtheadhesiveto urebeforepro eeding!!!.)
12. CleantheLensandLensgasket.

Calibration
A alibrationisrequiredtoa urately onvertreportedGPSspeedsintoneedlepositions.Thepro edureissimpleandtakes
twominutes.Forbestresultsreadtheentirepro edurefirst.
1. ConfirmtheGPSRe eiverisunplugged.AndtheJumperwiresarecorrectlyinsertedinthePS2mini ir ular
onne tor.
2. WiththetwoorangeTou hwiresinrea h,viewtheSpeedometer’sfa eata lose-up.
3. Power-upthegauge.
4. Aftertwose ondstheAGRwillenterCalibrationMode.Ifit’snottherealready,theneedlewillfallto5MPH.
5. Theneedlewillslowlyin rease.Whentheneedlepointsexa tlyatTEN[10]milesperhour,briefly onta tthetwo
Tou hWire(exposed)ends.
6. Theneedlewilljumptoapproa h I TEEN[15]milesperhour.Againtheneedlewill reepupwards.Whenitis
enteredonFIFTEEN,momentarilytou hthewires.
7. Continuethejump,approa h- enterandtou hroutinefor20,25,30,35,40,and45milesperhour.
8. ONLYafterthe onfirmation‘tou h’atthelast alibrationpointwilltheAGR omputethe alibration onstants.The
alibration onstantsaresavedinnon-volatilememory.
9. Theneedlewillresetandautomati allyretra emostofthe alibrationsteps(over-and-over).Thefirstretra estep
willbenearTEN[10],andthelastatfulls aleminus5.Nointerventionisrequired…justobserve.
10. Ana urateretra eindi atesthe alibrationisvalid.Toredoorrepla ethis alibration,simplyturnthepoweroff,
wait10se onds,andbeginagainatstep3.
11. YourCalibrationisdone.Turnthepoweroff.RemovetheJumperwires.
