MACHINEDESCRIPTION
This600SeriesDumpTrailerisadual‐purposemachinedesignedformovingsoil,stonesetc.
Thistrailercanalsobeusedforthetransportationofmobilemachinerysuchassmall
excavatorsandsitedumpers.
Thetrailerisprimarilydesignedforuseoff‐roadandatupto40kph(25mph)onthepublic
roadintheUK.Legislationinothercountriesmayvaryandtheoperatormustcheckthe
trailercomplieswithlocallegislationbeforeusingonapublicroad.Useabove40kphis
possiblebutrequiresseveraloptionalextrastobefittedandtheoperatormustensureit
complieswithlocallegislation;furtherdetailsarecontainedwithinthismanual.
Useofthemachineinanyotherwayisconsideredbythemanufacturertobecontraryto
theintendeduseandthemanufacturerdoesnotacceptanyliabilityforsuchuseandthe

manufacturerofthetractor.Formaximumpermittedloadimposedondrawbarsee
markerplateontrailer.
NEVERcarryoutanymaintenancetothedoororinthesurroundingareawiththe
doorunsupported.Ifthedoorjamsduringoperationrefertotheunblocking
procedure.
NEVERoperatethemachineifitisdamaged,incorrectlyadjustedor
unassembled.

PPE(PersonalProtectiveEquipment)
Whenoperatingthistrailerorcarryingoutamaintenancetask,thefollowingPPEmust
alwaysbeused:‐
‐Earprotectiontoprotecttheoperatorshearingifloadingstonesorothermaterials
whichcreateanimpactnoise.Also,whencarryingoutmaintenancetaskswhere
noisemaybecreated.
‐Safetyglassestoprotecttheoperator’seyesfromdust/dirtorhydraulicoilwhen
carryingoutmaintenance.
‐Waterproof,non‐slipfootwearwithasteeltoecaptohelppreventtheoperator
slippingandpreventinjuryfromafallingobject.Theoperatormustensurethework
areaiskepttidyandfreefromdebristohelppreventslipsandtrips.
‐Safetyglovestopreventinjurytofingersorhands.Also,topreventdermatitis
connectinghydraulichoses.
‐Somesitesmayrequireasafetyhelmettoprotecttheoperatorfromfallingobjects.
Itisrecommendedtowearasafetyhelmetwhenloading/unloadingwithramps.
Someexamplesofhazardsthatmayoccurasaresultofinstructionsnotbeingcomplied

OPERATION
DANGER:‐
Thistrailerisfittedwithapickupeyedesignedforusewithapick‐uphitch.Check
theeyecannotescapefromthetractorhitchasthedrawbarmayliftwhenthe
trailerisfullytipped.Ifthetraileristobehitchedtoaconventionalclevisdrawbar
asuitablebushshouldbeusedtoeliminateshockloadsonthetowingpin.
ConnectingtotheTractor
1. Connecttrailertotractorviathetractorpick‐uphitch.Ensurethehitchisproperly
engagedandlockedinposition.
2. Turnthetractoroff,applytheparkbrakeandremovekeyfromignition.
3. Ensurethebrakehoseandhydraulichosesareingoodconditionandtheprobesare
clean.Ifdirtydiptheprobeinparaffintocleanit.
4. Connectthehydraulicbrakestotheservicebrakevalve,onthetractor.
5. Connectthehydraulichosestothetractor.Thetippingcylinderrequiresasingleacting
spoolvalveandthereardoorcylinderadoubleactingspoolvalve.
6. Ensurealllightsarecleanandconnect7‐pinplug.
WARNING:‐
Ifusingonpublicroadslightguardsmustberemoved.
7. Connectthesecondarycoupling(ifapplicable).Asecondarycouplingisan
additionalcouplingtothetractorhookandtrailertowingeye.Thesecondary
couplingusuallyconsistsofasafetychainwhichensuresthatthetrailerremains
attachedtothetractoriftheprimarycouplingfailsorbecomesdetached.It
preventsthetrailersdrawbarfromtouchingthegroundandprovidessomelevel
ofsteering.Asecondarycouplingisnotneededifatrailerhasbeenequipped
withabreakawaysystemorairbrakesareinuse(seeoptionalextras).
WARNING:‐
ThesafetychainMUSTNOTbefittedtothetoplinkoranyotherhighpointonthe
tractorasthismaycausethetrailersdrawbartocomethroughthebackwindowofthe
tractorandseriouslyinjurethedriverordamagetotherearofthetractor.
NOTE:‐
Theminimumstrengthofthechainmustbeequaltothegrossweightofthe
trailerbeingdrawn.
Safetychainsmustbesecurelyattachedtoboththetractorshitchandthe
trailerdrawbar.
Safetychainsmustnotbedamaged,forexample,wornfromdraggingonthe
ground,stretchedorkinked.
Theslackinthechainshouldonlybeenoughtoletthetractorturn.
8. Thedrawbarstandcanberemovedifnecessaryandstoredonthebracketprovided.
9. Releasethetrailerparkbrake.Toreleasetheparkbrakepushithardtowardsthebody
ofthetrailer,thiswilldisengagethelatch.Theremustbeenoughfreeplayinthecable

toallowthesuspension(iffitted)tomovefullywithoutapplyingthebrakes.Ifthepark
brakeisreleasedfrombeingfullyontherewillusuallybeenoughspringbackinthe
cable.However,toensurethereisenoughfreeplaythelevershouldbeleftinthe
rearwardpositiontoallowmorecabletounwindifnecessary.Toapplyoperatethe
ratchetuntilthecablesaretight.
10. Checkthatallfunctionsareoperational,particularlythebrakes.
11. Beforedrivingofforcarryingoutanyothertaskensurethesurroundingareaisclearof
bystanders.
OperationoftheHydraulicDoor
DANGER:
ALWAYScheckthereisnoloosematerialbetweenthechassisandthedoorpriorto
tipping.
ALWAYSensurethereisnoonebehindornearthedoorbeforeopening/closing.
NEVERreachintothedangerzonebetweentherearchassisandthedoorwithoutthe
proppinsfullyengaged.
Toraisethehydraulicdoor,operatethespoolvalveuntilthedoorisupright.Tolowerthe
door,movetheleverintheoppositedirection.Whenloadingequipmentfromtherearthe
doormustbefullyopen.
ProcedureforSafelyClearingaBlockageattheHydraulicDoor
Whenloadingthetrailer,astoneorotheritemmayfallbehindthedoorpreventingitfrom
opening.Ifthisisnoticedbeforethetraileristipped:‐
1. Applythetractorparkbrake,stopthetractorandremovethekey.
2. Engagebothdoorlockingpins.
3. Removetheitem.
Ifthetrailerhasbeentippedandtheitempreventsthedoorfromfullyopening:‐

DrivingonPublicRoads
Thetrailerisdesignedformaximumspeedof40kph(25mph),unlessstatedotherwiseon
thespeeddecalfittedtothetrailer.Useatover40kph(25mph)intheUKrequireshigh
speedaxles,suspension,airbrakes,loadsensing,automaticslackadjustersandABS.
Regulationsinothercountriesmayvary.Alwayscomplywithlocalandnationalregulations
inthecountryofuse.
Thefollowingisanextractfromthelookbehindyouguidetotractortrailerbraking
producedbyScarlettResearchLimitedin2020.
DANGER:‐
SinglelinehydraulicbreakingisNOTlegalforuseonUKroadsabove40kph(25mph).
IntheUKatspeedsupto15kphthetrailermustbefittedwithanumberplateissuedtothe
vehicleownerforoneofhisvehicles.Over25kphthetrailermustbefittedwithaduplicate
ofthenumberplatefittedtothetowingvehicle.Legislationinothercountriesmayvary.
DANGER:‐
Nevercarrypassengersonthetrailer,eitheronthepublicroadandorprivateproperty.
Alwaysremovethelightguardsbeforeusingthetraileronthepublicroad.

Loading
Theunladenweight,grossweight,drawbarweightandaxleweightsofthetrailerare
stampedontotheserialplate(locatedonthefrontnearsideofthetrailer).YoumustNEVER
exceedtheseloadratings.
Regulationsmeanitisnotalwayspossibletofullyloadthetrailerwhenusingonpublic
