ENGLISH — FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Recovery Back Garment IM Rev 6A_Layout 1 28/02/2013 11:04 Page 6

Q: The stimulation is uncomfortable. How can I improve this?
A: Make sure the gel pads are positioned correctly and that they are pressed firmly against your skin. Switch off your Controller
and reposition the Neurotech Recovery - Back if necessary. Ensure the metal studs are fully covered by the gel pads. Ensure
the gel pads don't need to be changed.
Q: I can feel a tingling sensation in my legs during use of the abdomen garment. What should I do?
A: This indicates that the gel pads are over your hip-bones. Moving the two smaller gel pads upwards and inwards on your waist
(i.e. towards the center of your body) should prevent this. Remember to pause or switch off the Controller before adjusting
the conductive garment or gel pads.
Q: When using the Neurotech Recovery - Back Abdomen conductive garment, I can feel my waist muscles exercising but
not my stomach muscles. What should I do?
A: Pause the program and reposition the central gel pad slightly lower on your stomach. If this doesn't help, move the 2 small
gel pads to a smaller figure setting on the conductive garment (towards the central gel pad).
Q: When using the Neurotech Recovery - Back Abdomen conductive garment, I can feel my stomach muscles exercising
but not my waist muscles. What should I do?
A: Pause the program and reposition the central gel pads slightly higher on your stomach. If this doesn't help, move the 2
smaller gel pads to a larger figure setting on the conductive garment (away from the central gel pad).

ENGLISH — SETTING UP CONDUCTIVE GARMENTS
5.0 Setting Up Conductive Garments
This section explains how to apply the back garment when using the conductive garments for the first time. Gel pads are
required for use of both the back and abdomen conductive garments. Do not operate these garments without gel pads.
5.1 Gel Pads on Conductive Garments
Back Garment
The inside of the garment has been printed with gel pad placement guides, showing you exactly where to place the four pads.
Step 1: Lay out the Neurotech Recovery - Back on a flat surface with the blue panel with white markings facing you. (Fig. A)
Note: Your Recovery Back is packaged with two different types of gel pads. Be sure to use the oval shaped pads as they are
designed specifically for use on the back.
Step 3: Place the four gel pads, grid patterned side down, firmly on the garment within outlined areas. (Fig. C)
Step 4: Remove the liners from the black side of all four gel pads. Do not throw these liners away as you will need to put them
back on to the gel pads at the end of your session.

ENGLISH — SETTING UP CONDUCTIVE GARMENTS
Abdomen Garment
This section explains how to set-up the gel pads on the abdomen garment before using it for the first time.
Step 1: Turn the abdomen garment over so the 3 silver studs are facing upwards. Remove the three gel pads from their
package. There is one large square pad and two smaller oval pads. One side of each pad has a grid pattern on it while the
other side is plain back. See below for placement of gel pads.
Step 2: Remove the liners from the grid patterned side of the large, square gel pad and place
it grid side down over the middle stud and between the white lines. (Fig. D)
Step 3: Now, remove the liners from the grid patterned side of the two smaller oval shaped gel pads and place them on
either side of the large pad on the garment.
Note: One size fits all for the abdomen garment however, the location of
the smaller side pads depends on your waist size. In the example below, the
smaller pads are placed nearest to the large, central pad. This is for a user
whose waist size is 24”-32”. Use the sizing guidelines on the right, to help
you choose your correct pad location.
Abdomen Garment Gel Pad Locations: Place a gel pad on each side of the
center pad at designated locations.
Important: Before you progress, make sure that all silver studs are completely covered by the gel
pads. Press the edges of all three pads firmly onto the garment before use.
Extender Strap: Use of the extender strap will be required for waist sizes from 47" to 56’’. Use the
outer gel pad locations when using the garment extender strap. Attach the extender strap to one
end of the abdomen garment in order to extend the overall length.
Step 4: Remove the liners from the black side of all three pads. Do not throw these liners away as
you will need to put them back on to the pads at the end of your session.
1. For waist sizes 40" - 47" (106-119cm)
2. For waist sizes 32" - 40" (81 - 106cm)
3. For waist sizes 24" - 32" (61 - 81cm)

ENGLISH — SETTING UP CONDUCTIVE GARMENTS
5.2 Setting Up A Back Treatment
This section explains how to apply the back garment before using it for the first time. Gel pads should be applied to the garment
before putting it on.
Back Garment Placement
Step 1: The Neurotech Recovery - Back should always be centered over the spine. Place the peak of the curved section (pointing
down) directly against your spine to align the garment and then hold the ends in both hands as shown. (Fig. E). Ensure the
garment is spread equally on both sides of the body.
You can check the horizontal positioning by putting your finger into the die-cut circle on the back of the garment and feel for
your spine. The die-cut hole should be centered low and over your spine. (Fig. F)
Step 2: Place your fingers inside the pockets at either end of the garment and pull the two ends around to meet in front of you.
Wrap the left-hand side around your body first. (Fig. G)
Step 3. Next, wrap the right-hand side over the left and press the two ends together so that the belt fastens comfortably. Press
the ends of the garment against your body to ensure it is securely fastened.
Step 4. Then simply press the outer layer against the inner layer to fasten. (Fig. H)
5.3 Setting Up An Abdominal Muscle Treatment
Abdomen Garment Placement
Step 1: Position the abdomen garment around your waist so that the pads are pressed firmly against your skin, positioning the
large square pad over your navel (belly button).
Step 2: Stretch the ends of the belt around your waist (Fig. I), until the small pads are between your hip bone and ribs on either
side of your body (Fig. J). Fasten the belt tightly around your waist, but no so tight as to cause discomfort. The pads are water-
based, so you may find they are cool when placed on your skin.

ENGLISH — USING THE NEUROTECH PLUS
12
6.0 Using Garments with the Neurotech Plus for a Treatment
Prior to use, charge the battery. Insert your charger into an electrical outlet and then connect the Neurotech Plus to the
charger (Fig. K). It may take approximately 2-3 hours to fully charge the battery. Your unit is fully charged when all three
sections of the battery icon are full. The battery icon will flash when the battery is low and needs to be recharged.
NOTE: Do not leave your Neurotech Plus connected to the charger when the battery is fully charged.
Step 1: Connect the Neurotech Plus to the Conductive Garment. The Neurotech Plus must be connected to the Back or
Abdomen Garment to work. Place a conductive garment on your back or abdomen as instructed. Plug the Neurotech Plus into
the garment connector as shown. (Fig. L)
IMPORTANT: Make sure the Neurotech Plus and garment are connected correctly or your conductive garments will not work —
this is a safety feature.
Step 2: Press and hold the on/off button ( ) for three seconds to turn your Neurotech Plus on. (Fig. M)
Step 3: Select the program you wish to use (P) by pressing the program button. Program descriptions can be found in section
6.0 of Neurotech Plus manual or on page 17 of this manual. Ask your Health Care Professional for a recommendation on which
program(s) to use.
Step 4: Press and hold the increase intensity buttons (Fig. N). Program descriptions can be found in section 6.0 of Neurotech
Plus manual or on page 17 of this manual. Increase intensity using both arrows to a comfortable level. If you are using a TENS
program for pain management, you will feel a slight tingling or tapping sensation. If you are using a NMES program, increase
intensity until you feel your muscles contracting. Always choose an intensity level which is comfortable. This will vary from
person to person. The increasing intensity level is displayed on the screen.
Step 5: Continue increasing the intensity throughout the session if possible. For NMES programs, you will feel the muscle
contractions getting stronger as the intensity increases. Remember the harder you work your muscles the better the results you
will see, but always reduce the intensity if you feel any discomfort. Your unit’s intensity range is 0-99. You can utilize the keylock
function when you find the best level of stimulation if you wish.
Pausing a Session
If you wish to pause a session before it is finished, simply press the on/off button briefly. The display will show that the unit is
paused (II). To resume the session, briefly press the on/off button again. The display will return to its normal mode. (Fig. O)

unit at any time during a session, press and hold the on/off button for two seconds. You should see the display turn off.
NOTE: Do not disconnect the Neurotech Plus from the garment without first switching the unit off, as this may result in an error
on your display.
Step 7: Remove the garment by carefully peeling the garment with gel pads off your back or abdomen. Ensure that the gel pads
