Whendisplacementwiththetractorisallowed:
•Usealertingdevices,suchasags,slowvehicleemblems,lights,etc.,approvedbythecurrentlocaltrafclaws.
Keepthesedevicescleanandingoodcondition.
•Practicespeedscompatiblewiththeroadconditionsandtrafc,butneverexceeding12.5MPH(20km/h).
Reducethespeedconsiderablywhenthesurfaceisuneven.
NOTE:Donottransportthemachineloaded:supplytheseedattheplantingsite.
•Usethebrakepedalsofthetractorforasmoothbraking.
•Becarefulwiththepowergrid,trees,crossingpointsofrestrictedwidthandotherobstacles.
•Neverallowpeopleonthemachinewhilemovingit.
FormaintenanceservicesperformedwiththeSeedercoupledontothetractor.
Formanymaintenancetasks,especiallythoseperformedintheeld,itisconvenienttoleavetheSeedercoupledto
thetractortoensurethermnessandstabilityofthemachine.Inaddition:
•Removetheignitionkey.
•Engagetherstgearandactuatetheparkingbrake.

•Ifanaccidentoccurs,seeadoctorimmediately.

hydraulicsystems.

•Protectyourselffromthewasteorgasesofchemicalproductsderivedfromthetreatmentofseeds.
ATTENTION:Seeadoctorimmediatelyifyounoticesymptomsofpoisoningsuchasheadaches,sweating,nausea,
vomiting,abdominalcramps,weakness,profusesalivation,chesttightness,blurredvisionandnonreactivepupils.

legislation.Manyoftheseproductsmayofferrecycling
alternatives.

•Providethenecessaryilluminationintheworkarea.Ifnecessary,useaportablesafetylightforworkinginplaces
hardtoreachand/orwithlackofgoodlight.
Regardingtheportablelamp,beawareoftheinsulatingconditionsofboththeelectricpowercableandthelamp
itself:theheatofthelamp,cablesnotproperlyinsulatedorofpoorqualityandanaccidentallybrokenbulbare

aleatherapron.
•Incaseofelectricwelding:alwaysseektoconnectthe
negativeelectrodenearthepointtobewelded.
•Onlyperformweldinginwellventilatedareastoavoid
theconcentrationoftoxicgasesanddust.
•Beforewelding,removethepaint,thuspreventingthe
formationoftoxicgasesanddust.
Ifyoucannotremovethepaint,useanappropriate
masktoprotectagainsttheinhalationoftoxicgases.
Whensandingsurfaces,especiallywithpaint,also
wearamask.
Ifyouuseasolventtoremovethepaint,donotforget
towashtheareawithsoapandwaterbeforewelding:

GREASING
•Recommendedgrease:UseLithium-basedgrease
only,NLGI-2grade.
•Lubricateallttingsevery10hordaily.
•Therearegreasettingswithdifferentanglestofacili-
tateaccess:straighttting0°-inclined45°and90°-
seegure.
•Avoidexcessgrease:thecorrectamounttobeapplied
isreachedatthetimetheoldgreasebeginstoseepout
ofthehousing.
•Damagedgreasettingsshouldbereplacedimmedi-
atelytoavoidcompromisingthegreasingoftherespec-
tivetting.
•Beforegreasing,cleanthegreasettingstoavoidthe
penetrationofdustinlubricatedcomponents(bearings
andbushings).
•Wheelhubs(1):itisrecommendedthatatthebe-
ginningofeachseasonthehubsaredisassembled,
cleanedandchecked:replacethesealsandothercom-
ponentsasneeded.
Then,maketheadjustmentofthepre-loadofthebear-
ings(seeTransportwheelAxle-Overview(44.530)
ofthismanual)andlubricatewithnewgrease.

chain.
•The"X"deectionmustbe1to2%ofthe"L"distance,
measuredbetweenthecentersofthefarthestshafts.
•T oadjust,loosenthesprocketorpulley'ssupportat-
tachment(1),re-positionandre-attachthesupport.

Chainadjustedbyspringtension
•Thechain,inthiscase,workswithaslighttensionon
thefreeside.Thistensionismaintainedandadjusted
bysprocketsorpulleys(2),loadedbysprings(3).
•Thistypeoftensionisappliedwhenchangingtheseed
meteringrates.
Toadjust:loosenlock(4)andturnlever(5)untilthe
positionthatcorrespondstothecorrecttensionforthe
chain.

Cleaningchainsandgears
•Cleaningisasimportantaslubricationitself,asitpre-
ventstheaccumulationofdust,whichaccelerateswear
byabrasion.
Theremovaloftheoldgrease,alreadycontaminated,
alsofavorstheactionofthenewgreaseapplied.
•Themosteffectivewaytopromoteagoodcleaning,
istouseawaterjetunderpressure,hotand/orwith
detergent.
Lubricatingchainsandgears
•Thelubricationmustbeperformedwithoil.
•Theapplicationofoilcanbebydrops(withoiler)witha
brushorspraydirectedontothechains.

NOTE:Whenopening(dismantle)achain,notethecor-
rectpositionofthelock(6)ofthepins:thesidewiththe
openingshouldbefacingthesideoppositethedirection
ofdisplacement(X)ofthechain.
NOTE:Thispreventsanyinterferenceofthechainwith
cropresidues(suchascornstalks)fromcausingthere-
movalofthelock(6).
NOTE:Therearetools(7)withthepurposeofremoving
pinsfromchains.
NOTE:Neverinstallnewlinksinawornoutchain.
NOTE:Alwaysensurethecorrectalignmentofthegears
andparallelismoftheshafts.Misalignmentscauseaccel-
eratedwearofchainsandgears,evenunderlubrication.
NOTE:Itisrecommendedthat,inoff-seasonperiods,the
chainsareremovedandwashedinkeroseneordieseloil.
Afterthat,placethechainsinanoilbathfor24handthen,
allowtheexcessoiltodrain.

•Greaseallgreasettings.
•Inspectthemachineforwornorbrokenparts.Provide
themwhenthemachineisnotinoperation.
•Performrenishingofallwornmetalparts.
