CAUTION: Spidersandsmallinsectsoccasionally
spinwebsormakenestinthegrill
burnertubesduringtransitand
warehousing.Thesewebscan lead
togasflowobstruction,whichcould
resultinafireinandaroundburner
tubes.Thistypeoffireisknownas
“FLASH-BACK”andcancauseseriousdamageto
yourgrillandcreatean unsafeoperatingcondition for
theuser.
Althoughanobstructedburnertubeisnot theonly
causeof “FLASH-BACK”,itisthemostcommon
cause.
Toreducethechanceof “FLASH-BACK”, you must
clean theburnertubesbeforeassemblingyourgrill,
and atleastonceamonthinlatesummerorearlyfall
whenspidersaremostactive.Alsoperformthis
burnertubecleaningprocedureifyourgrillhasnot
beenusedforan extendedperiod oftime.Aclogged
tubecanbelead toafirebeneaththegrill.
Visuallycheck theburnerflamespriortoeachuse,
theflamesshouldlooklikethispicture,iftheydonot,
refertotheburnermaintenancypartofthismanual.

LP-GasSupplySystem
§A20lbtankofapproximately1/4inchesindiameterby18-1/4
incheshighisthemaximumsizeLPgastanktouse.
§Thissafetyfeaturepreventsthetankfrombeingoverfilled,which
can causemalfunctionof theLPgastank,regulatorand/orgrill.
§TheLPgassupplycylindertobeusedmustbeconstructedand
markedinaccordancewiththespecificationsforLP Gascylinderof
theU.S. Departmentof Transportation(DOT)ortheNational
StandardofCanada,CAN/CSA B339, Cylinders, Spheresand
TubesforTransportationof DangerousGoodsandCommission .
§TheLPgastankmusthaveashutoff valveterminating inanLP
valveoutletthat iscompatiblewithaType1. LPgassupplycylinder
must haveashutoff valveterminatinginavalveoutlet specifiedfor
connection typeQCC1inthestandardforcompressedgascylinder
valveoutlet andinlet connectionANSI/CGA-V-1asapplicable. LP
gassupplycylindermust befittedwithanOverfillProtectionDevice
(O.P.D)TheLPgastankmustalsohaveasafetyrelief devicethat
hasadirectconnectionwiththevaporspaceofthetank.
§Thetanksupplysystemmust bearrangedforvaporwithdrawal.
§TheLPgastankusedmust haveacollartoprotectthetankvalve
§Placedustcaponcylindervalveoutlet wheneverthecylinderisnot
inuse.Onlyinstallthetypeofdustcaponthecylindervalveoutlet
that isprovidedwiththecylindervalve.Othertypesofcaporplugs
mayresultinleakageofpropane
§Never connectanunregulatedLPgastanktoyourgasgrill.
§Thisoutdoorcookinggasapplianceisequippedwithahigh capacity

PROPERPLACEMENTAND CLEARANCEOF

•Neveruseyourgasgrill inagarage,porch,shed,
breezewayoranyotherenclosed area.Yourgasgrill is
tobeusedoutdoorsonly.
•DoNot install thisunit intocombustibleenclosures.
•Minimumclearancefromsidesand backofunitto
combustibleconstruction,24inches(61cm)fromsides
and 24inches(61cm)fromback.
•DO NOT usesthisapplianceunderoverhead
combustiblesurfaces. Thisoutdoorscookinggas
applianceisnotintendedtobeinstallinoron
recreationalvehiclesand/orboats.
•DoNotobstructtheflowofventilationairaroundthe
gasgrillhousing.Onlyusetheregulatorandthehose
assemblysuppliedwithyourgasgrill.Replacement
regulatorsandhoseassembliesmustbethosespecified
inthismanual.
•Theregulatorandhoseassemblymustbeinspected

PressureRegulatingValvesforLPGasANSI/ UL144.
•Donot usebriquettesofanykindinthegrill.
•Thegrillisdesignedforoptimumperformancewithout
theuseofbriquettes.Donotplacebriquettesonthe
radiantasthiswill blockofftheareaforthegrillburners
tovent.Addingbriquettescandamageignition
componentsand knobs,andvoidthewarranty.
•Keepthebackandsidecartfree and clearfromdebris.
Keepanyelectricalsupplycord,ortherotisseriemotor
cordawayfromtheheatedareasof thegrill.
•Neverusethegrillinextremelywindyconditions.If
locatedinaconsistentlywindyarea(oceanfront,
mountaintop,etc.)awindbreakwill berequired. Always
adheretothespecifiedclearance.
•Neveruseadentedorrustypropanetank.
•Keepanyelectricalsupplycordandthefuelsupply
hoseawayfromanyheatedsurface
•Whilelighting, keepyourfaceandhandsasfaraway

Forproperlightingandperformanceof theburners
keep the burnerportsclean.Itisnecessary toclean
themperiodicallyforoptimumperformance.The
burnerswill onlyoperateinonepositionandmust be
mountedcorrectlyforsafeoperation.
Clean the grillwithcaution.Toavoidsteamburns, do
not useawet sponge orclothtoclean the grillwhileit
ishot.Somecleanersproducetoxicfumesorcan
igniteif applied toahotsurface.
Turnoff grillcontrolsand makecertainthegrilliscool
beforeusinganytype of aerosolcleaneron oraround
the grill.The chemical thatproducesthe spraying
actioncould,inthepresenceof heat, igniteorcause
metal partstocorrode.
Do notusethegrilltocookexcessivelyfattymeatsor
otherproductswhichpromoteflare ups.
Do notoperatethe grillunderunprotectedcombustible

STEP4:BatteryisinsertedfortheRotisserieburnerand searingburner. Toinstall thebattery,
turntheignitionbuttoncapcounterclockwiseand removeit. Replace theignitionbuttoncapafter
thebatteryisinstalled.
Instructtoremovebatteriesifconsumedorifproductistobeleftunusedforalongtime.

device (OPD). Openthedoorandpull outthetray, placethegastankcylinderinthetank
tray , thenuseretentionkitthatshowedas belowdiagramtosecurethetankcylinder. Make
sure tankislevelinthetanktray forpropervaporwithdrawal.

STEP6:Thescrewsforrotisseriedrivemotorbracketare screwedintotherightsideofthegrill
housing.Removethescrewsand install therotisseriemotorbracketasshowninthefigurebelow.

ToMatchLighttheGrill
1. If the burnerwillnot lightafterseveralattemptsthen the burnercanbe matchlit.
2.If you haveattempted tolight themainburnerswiththe igniter, allow5minutesfor
anyaccumulated gastodissipate.
3.Insert amatchintothelighting rod. Ignitethe matchand insert through the cooking
gridtothe burner.
4.Press the controlknobandrotateit tothe “Ignite/HI”setting. Theburnershould
lightimmediately.
5.If the burnerdoesnotlight withinsecondsturnthe knobtothe “OFF”position, wait
5minutesand tryagain. (asshownbelow)

Ensurethat the black plasticgrommetson the
LPcylindervalveareinplaceand that the
hosedoesnot comeintocontact withthe

CONNECTION
Yourstainless steelgrillisequipped withgas
supplyorificesforuseonlywithliquid
propanegas. It isalsoequippedwithahigh
capacityhose/regulatorassemblyfor
connection toastandard20lb.L.P. cylinder
(18-1/4”(46.35cm)high, 12-1/4”(31cm)
diameter). Toconnect the L.P. gassupply
cylinder, pleasefollowthe stepsbelow:
1.Makesuretankvalveisinitsfulloff
position(turnclockwisetostop)
2.Check tankvalvetoassureit hasproper
externalmalethreads(type1connection
perANSIZ21.81)
3.Makesureallburnervalvesareintheiroff
position.
4.Inspect valveconnections, port, and
regulatorassembly. Lookforanydamage
ordebris. Removeanydebris. Inspect
hosefordamage. Neverattempt touse
damaged orobstructed equipment. See
yourlocalL.P. gasdealerforrepair.

5.When connecting regulatorassemblytothe
valve, hand tightenthe quick coupling nut
clockwisetoacompletestop. Donot usea
wrenchtotighten. Useof awrenchmay
damage the quick couplingnut andresultin
ahazardouscondition.
6.Open thetankvalvefully(counterclockwise).
Applythe soap solutionwithacleanbrush
toallgasconnections. See below. If
growing bubblesappearinthe solution the
connectionsarenot properlysealed. Check
eachfittingand tighten orrepairas
necessary.
7. If you haveagasconnection leakyou
cannot repair, turngasOFF at supplytank,

BEFORETESTING
Makesurethatall packingmaterialisremoved
fromthegrill includingtheburnertie-downstraps.

debris. Abovethe burnersareporcelain
coatedsteelradiant (flametamer). The
igniterknobsarelocated on thelowercenter
portion of thevalvepanel. Eachrotary
igniterislabeledon the controlpanel.
USING THEGRILL
Grilling requireshighheat forsearing and
properbrowning. Most foodsarecookedat
the “HI”heat setting fortheentirecooking
time. However, when grilling largepiecesof
meat orpoultry,it maybe necessarytoturn
the heat tothelowersetting aftertheinitial
browning.Thiscooks the food through
withoutburning the outside. Foodscooked
foralong timeorfoodsbasted withasugary
marinademayneed thelowerheat setting
nearthe end of the cookingtime.
NOTE: Thisstainless steelgrillisdesigned
togrillefficientlywithout the useoflava
rocks orbriquettesof anykind. Heatis
radiated bythe stainless steelflametamers
positioned aboveeachburner.
NOTE: The hot grillsearsthe food, sealing
inthe juices. The longerthe preheat, the
