Nextbook M712 Mounting instructions

Updating your Nextbook M712 tablet using a PC
Please only use this guide if you are experiencing issues. If you have any problems or queries, please call 0800

In order to update the firmware of your Nextbook M712 tablet, you will require the following:
-Desktop or Laptop PC
-Nextbook M712 tablet with 300MB minimum storage space available
-Internet connection
-microUSB data cable (bundled with your Nextbook)
-microSD memory card with 512MB minimum storage space available
Make sure the microSD card is inserted in your tablet before beginning.
Turn on your Nextbook Tablet and go into Settings , select the About Tablet (last option on the left) and look at the
Build number at the bottom.
Your Build number could be:
V1.0.2 IML76K.user.rooy.20130815
or
V1.0.2 IML76K.user.rooy.20130819

Open the web browser on your PC and navigate to the link below to download the firmware file:

The file will then begin to download on your PC and will appear in your download dialogue box:
Once the file has downloaded onto your PC, you will need to open the “Downloads” folder on your machine,
which will display the “M712” firmware file:
Double-click on the file, which will display the “sdcard” folder. Click once on the “sdcard” folder to highlight it,
then right-click on it, and select the “Copy” option.
Plug your Nextbook tablet into the computer using the supplied microUSB cable. You may need to turn USB
Storage on, on your tablet. If the following screen is displayed on the M712, then please ensure that this
function is turned on:

Once USB Storage is enabled, your computer should show a device titled “NEXT7D12R” (or similar) and a
“Removable Disk” within the “Computer” section of your PC:
Double-click on the “Removable Disk” option and then right-click and select “Paste” to copy the firmware file
over. Your computer will show a screen similar to the one below:
Once the file has copied, follow the steps below to complete the firmware update:
-Power-off your Nextbook M712 and leave the microSD card in the slot
-Hold the “VOL -“ button (volume down) on the side of your tablet down, and then hold the power
button simultaneously
-Follow the on-screen prompts to update your firmware
-The upgrade should take 2-3 minutes to complete
