IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the

3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near

4. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
6. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord
around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from
heated surfaces.
7. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

9 Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of
dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
10. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving

13. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas
where they may be present.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a
path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having an equipment–grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug
must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance
with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING – Improper connection of the equipment–grounding conductor can result
in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in
doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with
the appliance – if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified
electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120–volt circuit and has a grounding attachment plug that
looks like the plug illustrated in sketch. Make sure that the appliance is connected to an outlet
having the same configuration as the plug. No adaptor should be used with this appliance.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
This machine is suited to scrub or burnish floors in an
indoor environment and is not constructed for any
other use. Use only recommended pads/brushes and
cleaning solutions.
The following safety alert symbols are used throughout
this manual as indicated in their description.
WARNING: To warn of hazards or unsafe
practices which could result in severe personal
injury or death.
FOR SAFETY: To identify actions which must be
followed for safe operation of equipment.
The following information signals potentially dangerous
conditions to the operator or equipment:

2. Before operating machine:

– Turn off machine.

– Avoid moving parts. Do not wear loose
jackets, shirts, or sleeves.
– Use manufacturer supplied or approved
replacement parts.

MACHINE SETUP
1. Carefully check carton for signs of damage.
Report damages at once to carrier. Check whether
cord plug installed corresponds to your wall outlet.
2. Scrubber is shipped fully assembled. Pad driver,
pads and brush are sold separately. Just select
and install recommended brush or pad driver with
pad that meets your cleaning needs.
NOTE: Proper pad or brush selection is important for
best results. See your authorized distributor to assist
you in choosing the right pad or brush for your specific
cleaning needs.

electrocution can result. Unplug machine before
servicing.
3. To install pad or brush, tilt machine back on
wheels until machine is resting on handle.
4. Position brush/pad driver on driver lug and turn
counter–clockwise to secure ( Figure 1. ).

5. To install pad, position pad on pad driver and tap
with hand to secure ( Figure 1. ).
6. After brush or pad is installed return machine to
upright position.
7. To adjust handle to a comfortable height, lift
handle release lever and lower handle to desired
height. Handle will lock into position when release
lever is released ( Figure 2. ).

operator manual is read and understood.
1. Lift handle so scrub head is parallel to floor.
ATTENTION: Use caution when beginning to
operate machine. Machine will jolt if proper
instructions are not followed.
2. For Dual Speed Models select desired motor
speed . Position switch downward (185rpm) for
scrubbing/ stripping OR position switch upward
(300rpm) for spray buffing ( Figure 4. ).
FOR SAFETY: When using machine, go slow on
inclines and slippery surfaces.

NOTE: Start out in slow speed until you are

3. Start machine by pressing safety lock button and
turning twist grips forward. Release thumb from
safety lock button once machine starts ( Figure 5. ).

4. To move left, slightly lower handle and machine
will move left. ( Figure 6.A ) To move right, slightly
raise handle and machine will move right ( Figure
6.B ). Work machine with a side to side motion
when operating.

5. To stop machine, rotate twist grips backward and
safety lock button will engage.
FOR SAFETY: When using machine, do not
release handle grips until pad comes to a
complete stop.
NOTE: Machine’s circuit breaker will trip under
conditions of excessive overload. Periodically check
pad for excessive soil build–up. Turn pad over, clean
or replace when necessary. If circuit breaker should
trip. Reset circuit breaker switch after 15 seconds by
pushing button at side of handle. Resume to normal
operating.

MAINTENANCE

1. Remove pad driver or brush after every use. This
prevents damage to attachments.
2. Clean machine base assembly after every use.
3. Always wash pads after each use. Never use
soiled pads or allow pads to become oversoiled
before changing.
4. Always wind power cord around cord hooks rather
than loosely looped over handle. Wipe cord with
damp cloth after each use. Also, check power cord
for damage, if worn or damaged, replace
immediately.
5. Gear system and motor are factory lubricated and
require no further attention.

Esta máquina esta diseñada para fregar y pulir suelos
en espacios interiores y no es apta para ningún otro
uso. Utilice únicamente los cepillos/almohadillas y las
soluciones limpiadoras recomendadas.
En este manual se utilizan los siguientes símbolos
como se describe a continuación:
ADVERTENCIA: Para advertir sobre riesgos o
hábitos peligrosos que podrían causar lesiones
corporales graves o fatales.
PARA SU SEGURIDAD: Para indicar las
operaciones que deben realizarse para una
utilización segura del equipo.
La siguiente información indica las condiciones
potencialmente peligrosas para el equipo o el operario
del mismo.
PARA SU SEGURIDAD:
1. No utilice la máquina:
– Salvo que esté entrenado y autorizado
– Salvo haber leído y comprendido el
manual de instrucciones.
– Si no funciona correctamente.
2. Antes de utilizar la máquina:
– Retire los objetos que haya sueltos por el
suelo. Pueden convertirse en peligrosos
proyectiles si chocan con la almohadilla
giratoria en movimiento.
– Compruebe si hay líquidos o gases

– Compruebe si el cable y el enchufe están
deteriorados.
3. Al utilizar la máquina
– Mantenga pies y manos alejados de la
almohadilla giratoria
– No pase la máquina por encima de su
cable eléctrico porque podría ocurrir un
accidente.
– No vaya descalzo ni lleve sandalias o
calzado abierto por la parte delantera.
– Mantenga la máquina en movimiento para
evitar que el acabado o el suelo se
deterioren.
– Trabaje siempre en la zona que le permite
la longitud del cable para evitar el
deterioro y la deformación del cable.

– No suelte en ningún momento los
mandos. Al detener la máquina, espere a
que las almohadillas se hayan detenido
completamente antes de soltar los
mandos.
4. Antes de estacionar o revisar la máquina:
– Apague la máquina y desenchufe el cable.
ADVERTENCIA: Tensión peligrosa. Riesgo de
descarga eléctrica o electrocución. Desenchufe
siempre el cable eléctrico antes de trabajar en la
máquina.
ATENCIÓN: No almacenar en el exterior, evite que
se moje.
ATENCIÓN: La utilización de repuestos diferentes
a los recomendados por el fabricante puede
provocar averías.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA MÁQUINA
1. Controle cuidadosamente si el embalaje presenta
desperfectos. Informe inmediatamente al
transportista de dichos desperfectos. Compruebe
si el cable eléctrico instalado es el adecuado para
sus bases de enchufes de la pared.
2. Speedshine se ha embalado completamente
montada. El impulsor flexible para la almohadilla,
las almohadillas y el cepillo se venden
separadamente. Simplemente seleccione e instale
el cepillo recomendado o el impulsor flexible de la
almohadilla que mejor se adapte a sus
necesidades de limpieza.
NOTA: Para que los resultados sean óptimos, es
importante seleccionar el cepillo o la almohadilla
correcta. Consulte a su distribuidor autorizado a la
hora de elegir el cepillo o la almohadilla adecuada
para sus necesidades específicas de limpieza.
3. Instalación del cepillo o la almohadilla, levante la
máquina apoyándola en las ruedas hasta que
descanse sobre la columna de mandos.
4. Instale el impulsor del cepillo/de la almohadilla
sobre el adaptador del impulsor y gírelo en el
sentido contrario al de las agujas del reloj para
fijarlo ( Figura 1. ).

5. Instalación de la almohadilla, coloque la
almohadilla sobre su impulsor y fíjela
enroscándola con la mano ( Figura 1. ).

6. Después de instalar el cepillo o la almohadilla
devuelva la máquina a su posición vertical.
7. Ajuste la columna de mandos a una altura
cómoda. Levante la palanca de ajuste de la
columna y baje dicha columna hasta la altura
deseada. La columna se bloquea en posición al
soltar la palanca ( Figura 2. ).

FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA MÁQUINA
1. Lea y comprenda las medidas de seguridad antes
de utilizar la máquina.
ATENCIÓN: Extreme las precauciones las
primeras veces que utilice la máquina. La

2. Levante la columna de mandos de manera que el
cabezal de fregado esté paralelo al suelo.
3. En los modelos de dos velocidades, seleccione la
velocidad del motor deseada. Coloque el
interruptor hacia abajo (185 rpm) para la
operación de fregado / decapado O hacia arriba
(300 rpm) para la operación de rociado / pulido
( Figura 4. ).

ligeramente la columna de mandos y la máquina
se desplazará hacia la izquierda. Al utilizar la
máquina, realice desplazamientos laterales
(Figura 6.B).

PARA SU SEGURIDAD: Para evitar accidentes
personales, espere siempre a que el cepillo/ la
almohadilla se haya detenido completamente
antes de soltar los mandos.
NOTA: La máquina está equipada con un
cortacircuitos. Este cortacircuitos se activará cuando
la carga sea excesiva. Controle periódicamente que
no exista acumulación de suciedad en la almohadilla.
Invierta, limpie o sustituya la almohadilla cuando sea
necesario. Si se activa el cortacircuitos, espere 15
segundos antes de reajustar el interruptor del
cortacircuitos empujando el botón que se encuentra
en el lateral de la columna de mandos. Vuelva a
trabajar normalmente.

descarga eléctrica o electrocución. Desenchufe
siempre el cable eléctrico antes de trabajar en la
máquina.

1. Retire el impulsor de la almohadilla o del cepillo
después de cada uso. Esto evita el deterioro de
las conexiones.
2. Limpie el conjunto básico de la máquina después
de cada uso.
3. Lave las almohadillas después de cada uso. No
utilice nunca almohadillas sucias, ni permita que
las almohadillas se ensucien excesivamente antes
de sustituirlas.
4. Recoja y enrolle el cable eléctrico alrededor de los
enganches destinados a este fin en vez de
enrollarlo descuidadamente alrededor de la
columna. Limpie el cable con un paño húmedo
después de cada uso. Controle si el cable
eléctrico está deteriorado; sustitúyalo
inmediatamente en caso de estar deteriorado o
gastado.
5. El motor y el sistema de engranajes vienen
lubricados de fábrica y no precisan ninguna
atención especial.
