Safety Instruction
1. Please read this manual carefully before using the product.
2. Put all the unused or uninstalled boards or cards in static shielding bags.
3. Always ground yourself to remove any static discharge before touching the board,
to place your hands on grounding metal object for a while or wear a anti-static wrist
strap at all times.
4. When taking or fetching the boards or cards, please wear antistatic gloves and
have the habit of holding the boards by its edges.
5. Make sure that your power supply is set to the correct voltage in your area.
Incorrect voltage may cause personal injuries and damage the system.
6. To prevent electronic shock hazard or any damage to the product, please ensure
that all power cables for the devices are unplugged when adding or removing any
devices or reconfiguring the system.
7. To prevent electrical shock hazard, disconnect the power cable from the
electrical outlet before relocating the system.
8. When adding or removing devices to or from the system, ensure that all the
power cables for the devices are unplugged in advance.
9. To prevent any unnecessary damage to the products due to frequent power
on/off, please wait at least 30 seconds to restart the unit after the shutdown.
10. If system goes wrong during the operation, do not try to fix it by yourself. Contact
a qualified service technician or your retailer.

Chapter 1 Product Introduction
1.1 Overview
SHB-970 is a PICMG1.0 full size CPU card based on Intel B75 chipset, supporting Intel Sandy
Bridge and Ivy Bridge Processors. 2x 240Pin DIMM slots support DDR3 1066/1333/1600MHz
memory up to 16GB. Board provides up to 9 USB ports (1x USB3.0), 4x SATA ports (SATA1
supports SATA3.0), 2x COM ports, 1x LPT, 2x Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and HD audio.
Coming with other features such as high processing speed, excellent anti-interference and
electromagnetism compatibility, SHB-970 is widely used in ferrous metallurgy, petrochemical
industry, complete sets of electromechanical equipment, medicine and food industry, CNC machine,
industrial furnace and military or scientific research fields, etc.

Chapter 2 Installation Instruction
2.1 Interfaces Location and Dimension
Following is the dimension diagram for SHB-970. Please follow this diagram and the
instructions below to install your device. Improper installation of any components will lead to
malfunction.
Note: Please wear anti-static gloves to handle this unit in case of electrostatic damage.
2.2 Install CPU & DIMM
Key components of this motherboard are Integrated circuit, and these components could be
easily damaged by electrostatic influence. So, before installing this unit, please always keep the
following precautions in mind:
1. Hold the board by edges, don’t touch any components or plug and socket pins
2.Wear anti-static gloves/wrist strap while touching the integrated circuit components, such as CPU,
RAM, etc.
3.Put those unused or uninstalled components in static shielding bags or trays
4.Please first check the power switch is off before connecting the power plug
2.2.1 Install CPU
Please follow the steps below to install CPU:
(1)Open the cover of the onboard CPU socket

(2)Hold the CPU by both sides and Position the CPU over the socket, making sure that the
gold triangle is on the bottom-left corner of the socket then fit the socket alignment key into the
CPU notch.
(3)Check if the CPU installation is ok and then close the CPU socket cover.
Please follow the steps below to install CPU FAN:
(1)Make sure the CPU FAN matches well with the CPU surface and then fix the FAN on the board.
(2)Connect the FAN power cord to the board CPU FAN socket.
2.2.2 Install DIMM
Board provides 2x DIMM slots, please keep following points in mind when installing memory
bank:
1. When installing memory bank, please align its notch with the alignment mark on the socket
and then press the memory bank slowly into the socket.
2. Please choose the memory banks that match our motherboard.
2.3 Jumper Setting
2.3.1 CMOS Clear/Hold Jumper Setting(JCC1, JCC2)
CMOS is powered by onboard button cell. Clearing CMOS will lead to permanent elimination
of previous system settings and reset to the original system setting (the factory setting).
Steps:(1)Shut off the computer and disconnect power supply
(2)Make jumper cap JCC Pin 1-2 short for 5~6 sec and then back to Pin 2-3
(3)Power on the computer and press ”Del” key to enter into BIOS setting when
system starts, then reload optimal defaults
(4)Save and Exit.

2.4.5 Serial Ports(COM1, COM2)
This CPU card provides 2set 2×5PIN serial ports. COM1 and COM2 are fixed on the chassis with an
covert cable(IDC10 to DB9)to connect external devices. Users can configure BIOS options to
enable or disable the serial ports, and to select its IRQ or I/O addresses.nhm
COM1/COM2 support RS232; COM2 supports RS422/485. Users can select COM2 transmission
mode through jumper settings. Details please refer to Chapter 2-2.3.3 “COM2 Jumper Setting”.
