Noritz Wireless Push Button Kit
(WLB)

Installing the Wireless Receiver
1. Disconnect the water heater from electrical
power.
2. Power receiver by inserting AAA batteries
(included)* or connecting a USB cable (field
supplied) between the port and a wall
charger. CAUTION: DO NOT connect USB to
power if batteries are inserted.
3. Verify connection between Transmitter and
Receiver. Press Transmitter button. Receiver
should blink 4 times to confirm connection. If
connection fails, refer to instructions “Pairing
Additional Sensors” on reverse page.
4. Attach the receiver to water heater (using
provided magnetic strip).
5. Remove the front cover of the water heater.
6. Locate the black wires (with red crimping
terminal) marked “On-demand SW”
7. Cut the “On-demand SW” wire. Note: Cut
wires as close to the edge of the terminals as
possible to maximize wire length.
8. Feed two signal wires (blue) through the
designated throughway of water heater.
9. Use the connector (included) to attach the
signal wires to the water heater. Note: There
is no polarity on these signal wires
10. Restore power to the water heater
11. Change the setting to “On-demand (Title 24)
Mode” on the water heater (Refer to pg. 59 of
Water Heater Installation Manual).
*When utilizing battery power, expected runtime is approximately 6
months. Receiver will not function without power

Mounting Wireless Motion Sensor
(optional): Affix the motion sensor to the
wall or ceiling using the provided screws.
Insert two AAA batteries (included) into the
back of the sensor by sliding the cover off.
Make sure the switch is set to on.
Note: If batteries are not preferred, the USB
port on the side of the motion sensor may
alternatively be used to provide power.
CAUTION: DO NOT connect USB to power if
batteries are inserted

Note: Transmitters (2) in kit come pre-paired with receiver
1. Power receiver by inserting AAA batteries (included)* or
connecting a USB cable (field supplied) between the port
and a wall charger. CAUTION: DO NOT connect USB to
power if batteries are inserted.
2. Set the receiver to pairing mode by holding both the
“Program” and “Clear” buttons simultaneously for
approximately 5 seconds. The LED will begin to flash
continuously to indicate pairing mode activation.
3. Pair additional transmitters to the receiver by either
pressing the transmitter button or waiving your hand in
front of the motion sensor. The receiver will blink 4
times to confirm connection.
4. To pair additional sensors, repeat steps 2&3. Pair only 1
transmitter at a time. Up to 4 additional sensors can be
paired up to the receiver (Up to a total of 6 transmitters
in any combination can be paired).
Troubleshooting Receiver Connection
1. If the receiver blinks when pressing transmitter,
but heater does not respond, verify flashing
pattern. Pattern should be 4 blinks (2 blinks
twice). If the pattern does not match, press the
“Program” Button until pattern changes to 4 blink
pattern.
2. If receiver is not responding when pressing
transmitter, verify power is supplied to both
transmitter and receiver.
3. Reset: To reset all settings, press and hold the
“Clear Button” for 5 seconds. This will unpair all
currently connected sensors. Re-Pair transmitters.
