ATTACHING THE ADJUSTABLE HARNESS LINE
The Adjustable Harness Line is available as an accessory part from your local retailer.
WARNING:
Be aware when using any kind of harness, that the hook can cause damage to the wing, foil,
board, or EVA deck pad.
Installation:
1.
Identify the front and rear end of the Adjustable Harness Line. The front end of the line has
various lark’s head knots allowing for the line length to be adjusted according to personal
preference.
2.
Install the front end of the harness line by threading it through the loop on the Forward
Harness Line Attachment Point. Make a loop at the front end of the line and use a lark’s
head connection to secure the line to the desired knot.
3.
Install the rear end of the harness line to the Rear Harness Line Attachment Point using a
lark’s head connection.
2.3.
INFLATING THE WING
IMPORTANT:
Always inflate your wing using a hand pump with a pressure gauge.
1.
Unpack the wing from its bag. Remove the compression strap, and lay the unrolled wing
on a flat surface, free from hard or sharp objects, with the Leading Edge (LE) into the wind
and the strut facing up.
2.
Open Pinch Clamps so air can flow from the LE into the strut. To open, push the end tab
outwards. (The Neoprene Clamp Cover remains in place over the Pinch Clamps)
3.
Attach the Pump leash to the Leash Attachment Loop in the centre of the LE. This
allows handsfree pumping of the wing.
IMPORTANT:
Always secure the pump base with your feet while the wing is attached.

14
4.
Remove the Neoprene Valve Cover.
5.
Read and remove the Warning Tag from the valve. Ensure the Inflation Valve is securely
fitted into the LE.
6.
Unscrew the Outer Inflation Cap by turning it counterclockwise. Attach the Pump hose
bayonet directly to the inflation valve using a clockwise rotation.
7.
Inflate to the recommended PSI printed on the LE of the wing, next to the inflation valve.
It is common for the LE to inflate before the strut.
WARNING:
If the bladder has moved or twisted inside the strut or LE, it can cause a rupture or bulge when
inflated. To prevent this, you must ensure the bladder has even and direct contact with the
material surrounding it during inflation, this material is not over or under-tensioned in any area,
and there is no twisting or distortion.
WARNING:
If the bladder is not inflating evenly, or there is any material twisting or distortion, STOP
IMMEDIATELY and follow instructions at 4.2 Resolving Strut Bladder Migration. Failure to check
for bladder migration or using an incorrectly inflated wing may render the warranty void.
WARNING:
Always use a hand pump with a pressure gauge to inflate your wing. Do NOT inflate your wing
with an air compressor. Overinflation will damage the wing and void any warranty. Follow PSI
guidelines printed on the wing next to the inflation valve.
8.
When your wing is fully inflated, remove the pump hose and pump leash and keep hold of
the wing. Ensure the valve is secured tightly to the valve base on the LE. Then screw the
inflation valve cap securely back in place. Replace the neoprene valve cover.
9.
Close the Pinch Clamps on the HyperFlow Hoses. To close, squeeze the clamp until you feel
it click three times. We recommend closing the clamps to isolate the air in the strut from
the LE as a safety precaution.
2.4.
LEAVING YOUR WING UNATTENDED
IMPORTANT:
Do NOT leave your wing unattended without securing it.
•
Use your wing leash to secure the wing to a solid unobstructed object such as a pole, with
struts facing up, while unattended.
•
Do NOT use rocks, stones, fins, foils, or other sharp/abrasive objects to secure your wing.
•
To protect the longevity of your wing, do not leave it flapping on the beach for an extended
period. This may render the warranty void.
WARNING:
Damage caused by normal wear and tear of using this product on land is not covered by the warranty.

U S E R M A N U AL W I N D W I N G
15
IMPORTANT:
Use fresh water to wash any sand or dirt from the window before packing up. Take
care if using a cloth to wipe the window as any residual grit could scratch the surface.
IMPORTANT:
Allow the canopy and leash to dry completely before packing the wing into its bag.
Never store your wing wet or moist in your bag for an extended period. This can cause colour
migration, which will render the warranty void.
1.
Open the Pinch Clamps by pushing the end tab outwards.
2.
Unscrew the HyperFlow Inflation Valve anticlockwise to deflate the LE and Strut.
3.
Fold the dry wing in half, wing tip to wing tip.
4.
Roll both tips together back towards the Strut.
5.
Place your hand on the trailing edge side of the LiteVision Window Panels. Fold the lower
part of the rolled wing up toward the LE. Do NOT fold windows.
6.
Store in your North Wing Bag.

Kit offer a temporary repair measure for the canopy material, strut bladders and LE bladders.
Major cuts, tears or leaks will need to be professionally repaired, or the bladder may need to be
replaced. Please contact your local North Retailer or North Service Centre for support to carry
out the repair.
The Wing Repair Kit is in the pocket of the North Wing Bag.
Wing Repair Kit Includes:
•
1x Snap Clip
•
1x Bladder Repair Kit
•
6x Canopy Repair Patches
•

4.1.
TEARS
For major tears in the canopy material, we recommend you consult your North Dealer or North
Service Centre.
For minor tears in the canopy material, you may repair the tear temporarily with a Canopy Repair
Patch supplied in the Wing Repair Kit as follows:
1.
Clean and dry the wing with fresh water in the area requiring repair. Do NOT use acetone,
thinner, or other mineral oil-based cleaning products as they can damage the fabric,
coating, and prints.
2.
Allow time for the wing to completely dry. Adhesives will not bond to a damp wing.
3.
Lay the wing on a surface that is flat, clean, dry and smooth.
4.
Cut or use two pieces of Canopy Repair Patch the same size, ensuring they are big enough
to create a 15mm border around the entire tear. Round the corners of the patches to reduce
the potential for peeling.
5.
While the canopy is on a flat surface, place one patch over the affected area. Ensure the
area is flat and free from wrinkles.
6.
Cover the opposite side of the tear with the second remaining patch in the same way
previously mentioned.
7.
Make sure the patch is secure, especially at the edges.
8.
It is recommended that the patch is given 12 hours to effectively adhere to the canopy
surface before use.

4.2.
RESOLVING STRUT BLADDER MIGRATION
If the bladder has moved or twisted inside the strut or LE, it can cause a rupture or bulge when
inflated. To prevent this, you must ensure the bladder has even and direct contact with the
material around it during inflation, and the material is not over or under-tensioned in any area.
WARNING:
If the strut or LE is showing any twisting or distortion during inflation, we recommend taking your
wing to a North Service Centre for professional assistance.
To resolve strut bladder migration:
1.
Deflate the wing.
2.
Locate the two Strut Bladder Installation Lines. The lower line is in a pocket on the XLT-Joint.
The upper line is located between the top of the strut and the canopy, at the LE intersection.
3.
Locate the lower line in the pocket. If the line is not visible, take the wing to your North
Retailer or North Service Centre.
4.
If the line is visible, check the line is securely attached to the loop on the inner pocket seam.
If the line has come loose, tie the installation line to the loop using a single knot. Ensure the
knot is stopping the installation line from retracting inside the strut.
5.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 with the upper installation line.
6.
The strut bladder is held in place at the trailing edge end of the strut by a folded over velcro
tuck flap inside the strut tip. Open the velcro to pull out the tuck flap, unfold the flap and
check the bladder is visible inside.
7.
Close the flap and reinsert into the opening, then secure the velcro.
8.
Lay the wing flat on the ground, strut facing up. Inflate the bladder a small amount, and then
from the outside, carefully take hold of the bladder through the strut material and knead
gently to ensure it is evenly distributed within the strut. There should be no bulge or twist
anywhere in the bladder.
9.
Try inflating the wing again. Check the strut material has even contact with the bladder
inside and is not over or under-tensioned in any area.
10.
If the problem persists, take your wing to a North Service Centre, or follow the Strut Bladder
Repair / Replacement instructions to remove the bladder fully, check for damage, then re-install.
4.3.
BLADDER REPAIRS
Before attempting to repair a bladder:
Find a clean, dry location out of the wind to carry out the repair. Avoid repairing your wing on the
beach or in dirty, dusty areas.
You will need:
•
8m of strong string or nylon (a kite control line is ideal)
•
Bladder Repair Kit from your Wing Repair Kit (found inside the front pocket of your Wing Bag).
•
Hand Pump and Tapered Nozzle Attachment (as provided with the North Kite Pump)
•
Ensure bladders are deflated.
•
Keep track of all HyperFlow Inflation System parts for later use.

18
4.4.
LEADING EDGE (LE) BLADDER REMOVAL
1.
Lay your fully deflated, clean dry wing flat on the ground with the strut facing up.
2.
Disconnect the HyperFlow hoses from the strut and LE hose fittings. To do this, open the
snap clips at each end of the hose and pull the hose off the LE and strut hose fittings (you
may need a flat-head screwdriver to pry the snap clips apart). Set each snap clip and hose
aside for later use.
3.
Open the velcro tuck flap at each end of the LE and pull the bladder out a few centimetres
on each end.
4.
Secure a piece of string to each of the two bladder ends. The string will be used to re-insert
the bladder once repaired so must be long enough to span the length of the LE.
5.
Separate the HyperFlow Inflation Valve from from the Valve Base on the LE Bladder. To do
this unscrew the inflation valve and carefully lift the retaining lanyard from the base.
6.
Remove the inflation valve assembly from the Wing and set aside for later use.
7.
Undo the Zip Opening located on the LE next to the inflation valve.
8.
Insert your hand through the opening to separate the inflation valve base from the internal
velcro
9.
Push the valve base attached to the bladder into the LE body.
10.
Gently pull the entire bladder out through the Zip Opening.
11.
Ensure strings on the ends of the bladder are visible at the opening, then disconnect the
strings from the Installation Lines on the bladder, securing the string ends so they do not
slip back inside the LE. You will need the strings to re-feed the bladder back inside later.
4.5.
LEADING EDGE (LE) BLADDER PATCHING
1.
Reattach the HyperFlow hoses onto the LE hose fittings on the bladder. Close the pinch lamps.
2.
Attach the HyperFlow inflation valve to the base on the bladder.
3.
Gently inflate the bladder until it takes shape and becomes firm to touch. Do not
overinflate, the pressure required is much lower than the normal inflation pressure.
4.
Locate the leak by submerging the bladder in water and watching for bubbles.
Alternatively, use soapy water and a rag or sponge and bathe the bladder, watching for
bubbles. Once the hole is located, mark the hole with a permanent marker.
5.
Dry and deflate the bladder fully.
6.
In your Wing Repair Kit you will find a small box labelled ‘Bladder Repair Kit’.
7.
From the Bladder Repair Kit, follow the instructions, and carefully cover the hole ensuring
there are no wrinkles under the patch.
8.
Gently re-inflate the bladder and check the repair has been successful with the soapy water.

U S E R M A N U AL W I N D W I N G
19
4.6.
LEADING EDGE (LE) BLADDER REINSTALLATION
1.
Completely deflate the bladder.
2.
Remove the HyperFlow hoses from the LE hose fittings and remove the inflation valve from
the base.
3.
Reattach the two pieces of string to each bladder end, then pull the lines to gently re-feed
the bladder back inside the LE. Pull one half of the bladder through fully, then the other. Avoid
twisting the bladder as you feed it through.
4.
Feeling with your hands, locate the leading-edge hose fittings. Once located, pull them back
through the holes in the LE.
5.
Pull the bladder tips out of the LE just enough to expose the strings. Remove the strings and
gently push the bladder back inside, so the ends of the bladder is flush with the end of the
tuck flaps.
6.
Carefully fold over and secure the velcro tuck flaps. Ensure the inner velcro is properly
aligned.
7.
Pull the HyperFlow inflation valve base through the hole in the LE, ensuring that it is correctly
aligned and not rotated. Re-install the lanyard to the inflation valve base.
8.
Reattach the HyperFlow hoses to the LE and strut hose fittings, securing with the snap clips.
9.
Partially inflate the LE. Check carefully there are no twists or uneven areas in the bladder
before applying full inflation pressure.
10.
Open the pinch clamps and inflate the entire wing to confirm the repair has been effective.

20
4.7.
STRUT BLADDER REMOVAL
1.
Lay the fully deflated, clean, dry wing flat on the ground with the strut facing up.
2.
Disconnect the HyperFlow hoses from the two strut hose fittings on the strut by opening the
snap clip. You may need a flat-head screwdriver to pry the snap clip apart. Set the snap clips
aside for later use.
3.
Locate the two Strut Bladder Installation Lines. The lower line is in a pocket on the XLT-Joint.
The upper line is located between the top of the strut and the canopy at the LE intersection. If
either line is not visible, take the wing to your North Retailer or North Service Centre.
4.
Untie the lower installation line from the loop on the inner pocket seam. Attach a strong piece
of string to the line. The string should be longer than the length of the strut.
5.
Untie the upper installation line. Attach another strong, long piece of string to the upper
installation line.
6.
Push the installation line knots through the openings into the strut body.
7.
Gently push the two strut hose fittings into the strut body.
8.
Locate the strut tip opening at the trailing edge end of the strut and open the velcro tuck flap
to access the internal bladder.
9.
Gently pull the bladder out through the tip pocket, making sure both strings pass smoothly
through the installation line pocket openings at the LE end of the strut body. Ensure there is
no resistance when pulling the bladder out of the strut body.
IMPORTANT:
Leave the strings attached to the installation lines. Ensure the strings are still inside
the strut body and visible at the openings by the XLT-Joint. You will need these to re-feed the bladder
back into the strut.
