1. NEVER immerse the Motor Housing in water or any other liquid.

5. NEVER add nuts, candy, fruit or other chunky ingredients to the Freezer Bowl prior
to the churning process. They may prevent ice cream from churning properly.
6. Unplug unit from outlet when not in use and when cleaning.
7. DO NOT operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug
or in the event the appliance ever malfunctions.
8. DO NOT put in dishwasher.
9. Keep out of reach of children.
10. This appliance is NOT A TOY.
11. This appliance is not intended for use by unsupervised young
children or cognitively challenged individuals.
12. Young children should be supervised while product is in use
to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

14. This unit must be on a level surface to operate properly.

17. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting
from becoming entangled or tripping over a long cord. The cord is
designed to be stored in the Lid of the unit when not in use.
18. An extension cord can be used if care is exercised in its use.
19. The marked electrical rating of an extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance. The extension cord should be attached correctly and
should be arranged so that it does not dangle over the edge of a table or countertop.
20. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug cannot be fully inserted into the socket, it can be re-
inserted in the opposite direction. If this still does not work, please contact a
professional maintenance or repair person. DO NOT repair it by yourself.
21. DO NOT attempt to service this appliance yourself. All maintenance, except
for cleaning, must be performed by a professional repair technician.
22. DO NOT put hands or any foreign objects into this appliance
while it is plugged in and operating.
23. DO NOT use metal utensils or sharp objects inside the Freezer
Bowl as they will scratch and damage the surface.
24. Make sure the Freezer Bowl and Cover are attached correctly
before turning on the Ice Cream Maker.

has completely stopped before removing the Cover.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER from Nostalgia Electrics™. The
ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER provides a homemade ice cream experience with modern
convenience. Simply freeze the Freezer Bowl, ll with fresh ingredients and in about 30
minutes, your delicious ice cream will be ready to serve. No salt or ice is needed! You can
also use this ice cream maker to create refreshing sorbet and frozen yogurt. Makes about 3
cups of ice cream per batch.

PARTS & ASSEMBLY
Take the ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER out of the box and wash the
Freezer Bowl, Cover and Dasher with a non-abrasive cloth in warm, soapy
water and dry thoroughly. DO NOT wash the Motor Housing.
Carefully wipe down the Motor Housing with a non-abrasive cloth or
sponge. NEVER immerse the Motor Housing in water. Dry thoroughly.
Now you are ready to make creamy, delicious ice cream
from your ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER.

1. Push the Cover onto the Motor Housing until circular holes are aligned.
2. Insert the Dasher into the Motor Housing and align the grooves in Dasher with Cover.
3. Slide the motor housing forward until it snaps into place.
4. Place the Motor Housing with Cover and Dasher attached on top of the Freezer Bowl.
5. Rotate clockwise and slide in the locking teeth until cover snaps into place.

HOW TO OPERATE
1. First, nd a stable surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure the cord
is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if needed.
2. Chill Freezer Bowl by wrapping it in a plastic bag and then placing in a freezer.
It should take about 12 hours to adequately freeze the Freezer Bowl.
3. To conrm that the Freezer Bowl is frozen enough to begin making ice cream,
shake it slightly after freezing. If you hear liquid moving inside of the Freezer Bowl,
it has not frozen enough. DO NOT shake the Freezer Bowl too hard or drop the
Freezer Bowl, as this could damage it and prevent it from freezing properly.
4. Choose your favorite recipe and prepare ice cream mixture per recipe instructions.
Chill the mixture for at least one hour before making ice cream.
5. Pour chilled ice cream mixture through the Ingredient Window into
the chilled Freezer Bowl. Make sure that you do not ll the bowl more
than ²/3 full, as the mixture will expand during freezing process.
6. Plug the power cord attached to the Motor Housing into an outlet.
7. Turn on the Motor Housing by ipping switch to the "ON" position.
8. The mixing will begin.
9. In about 20 to 40 minutes the ice cream should be ready. The time needed
to nish a recipe may vary slightly depending on the ingredients used.
DO NOT operate the Ice Cream Maker for more than 40 minutes.
10. DO NOT over-mix the ice cream, as this can cause the ice cream to become too thick,
resulting in the motor stopping. If the motor stops, ip the switch to the "OFF" position,
unplug the unit, and remove the Cover and Motor Housing from the Freezer bowl by
rotating the Cover counter-clockwise. Allow ice cream to soften slightly, then serve.
11. Note that your ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER has a safety feature that prevents the electric
motor from overheating. If ice cream becomes too thick or if the electric motor runs for too
long, the electric motor will stop automatically. If this happens, ip switch to "OFF" position
and allow electric motor to cool down before continuing the ice cream making process.
12. After you have nished making ice cream and ipped switch to "OFF"
position, unplug the unit, and remove the Cover and Motor Housing
from the Freezer bowl by rotating the Cover counter-clockwise.
13. Remove the Dasher from the Motor Housing and scrape o excess ice cream with a spatula.
14. Transfer ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze,
or serve straight from the Freezer Bowl.

HELPFUL TIPS
TASTE
Finished ice cream will always taste less sweet than the initial mixture. You
may adjust the amount of sugar in the recipe to suit your taste.
Articial sweeteners may be used in place of sugar. Use
the following measurements for reference:
• 1 packet of sweetener = 2 tsp. of sugar
• 6 packets of sweetener = ¼ cup of sugar
• 8 packets of sweetener = ¹/3 cup of sugar
• 12 packets of sweetener = ½ cup of sugar
MOTOR
If the motor is blocked and does not run properly, the ice cream may be too thick,
causing the Dasher not to turn properly. Make sure that you follow each recipe exactly.
JAMMING
If the Dasher gets jammed and does not revolve properly, try the following:
• Check to make sure that the Dasher is properly attached to the Motor Housing, that
the cord is plugged into outlet and that the unit is ipped to the "ON" position.
• Ice Cream recipes that include hard ingredients like nuts or chocolate chips
may cause the Dasher to become lodged in the Freezer Bowl. DO NOT add
hard ingredients until the last ve minutes of the churning process.
• DO NOT stop the churning process until ice cream is nished. Stopping in the middle of
the process can cause the ice cream to harden and restrict the movement of the Dasher.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
1. Make sure the unit is turned o and the unit is unplugged.
2. Remove the Cover and Motor Housing from the Freezer
Bowl by rotating the Cover counter-clockwise.
3. Scrape o any excess ice cream from the Dasher and remove Cover
and Dasher from Motor Housing by sliding the Cover forward.
4. Wash Freezer Bowl, Cover and Dasher with a non-abrasive cloth in warm, soapy water and
dry thoroughly. DO NOT reassemble the Ice Cream Maker until all parts are completely dry.
5. Wipe down Motor Housing using a damp, non-abrasive cloth or sponge. Dry thoroughly.
6. NEVER immerse Motor Housing in water or other liquid.
7. DO NOT use harsh or abrasive cleaners.
8. DO NOT use an abrasive sponge, cloth or scouring pad on the unit.
9. DO NOT freeze the Freezer Bowl when it is wet.
10. ONLY wash unit by hand. DO NOT place parts in the dishwasher.
11. You may store Freezer Bowl in a freezer when not in use so it is
ready when you make your next batch of ice cream.

RECIPES
The ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER makes rich, creamy ice cream
anytime! Try these delicious recipes and tips:
• Make sure your ingredients are chilled prior to adding to
Freezer Bowl, as this makes ice cream making faster.
• For ice cream recipes that require cooking, it is recommended that you cook one
day in advance. The mixture will then have time to cool completely and expand.
VANILLA ICE CREAM
•
3/4 Cup Whole Milk,
well chilled
• ¼ Cup Granulated
White Sugar
• 1 Cup Heavy Cream,
well chilled
• ½ - 1 Tsp. Pure Vanilla
Extract, to taste
In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer or a whisk to
combine the milk and granulated sugar until the sugar
is dissolved, about 1 – 2 minutes on low speed.
Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla to taste.
Turn machine on, pour mixture into Freezer Bowl
and let churn until thickened, about 30 minutes.
DO NOT ll the bowl more than ²/3 full, as the
mixture will expand during freezing process.
NOTE: If you want richer, creamier ice cream, you
may substitute the Whole Milk for Half-and-Half.
Makes approximately four ½ cup servings.
VARIATIONS:
• Mint Chocolate Chip: Omit the vanilla and replace
with ½ to 1 teaspoons of pure peppermint extract
(to taste). Chop your favorite 2-ounce bittersweet or
semi-sweet chocolate bar into tiny uneven pieces.
Add the chopped chocolate during the last 5 minutes
of churning through the Ingredient Window.
• Butter Pecan: Melt ½ stick of unsalted butter in a 10-
inch skillet. Add ½ cup roughly chopped pecans and ½
teaspoon kosher salt. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring
frequently until the pecans are lightly browned. Remove
from the heat, strain (the butter will have a pecan avor and
may be reserved for another use). Allow the pecans to cool
completely. Add the toasted buttered pecans during the
last 5 minutes of churning through the Ingredient Window.
• Cookies & Cream: Add ½ cup coarsely chopped
cookies or your favorite candy (chocolate chips,
Oreos, M & Ms, etc.) during the last 5 minutes of
churning through the Ingredient Window.

RICH CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM
• 3-oz. Semi-sweet
Chocolate, nely
chopped
• 1 Cup Heavy Cream,
well chilled
• 1 Cup Whole Milk
• 1 Egg Yolk
• ¼ Cup White
Granulated Sugar
• ½ Tbsp. Pure
Vanilla Extract
Combine cream, milk and chocolate in a medium saucepan
over medium heat and cook until mixture almost boils and
chocolate is melted, about 5-8 minutes. Reduce heat to low.
Beat yolk, sugar and vanilla extract in a small bowl
until light yellow and smooth, about 1 - 2 minutes.
Add 2 tablespoons of warm cream/chocolate mixture
and stir until combined. Gradually add egg yolk
mixture to warm cream chocolate mixture, stirring
continuously to prevent the eggs from curdling.
Cook over low heat until slightly thickened and mixture
coats the back of a spoon, about 3-4 minutes.
Transfer to a medium bowl and let the chocolate
mixture cool completely. You may want to refrigerate
the mixture until it is well-chilled again.
Turn machine on, pour mixture into Freezer Bowl
and let churn until thickened, about 30 minutes.
DO NOT ll the bowl more than ²/3 full, as the
mixture will expand during freezing process.
Makes approximately four ½ cup servings.
VARIATIONS:
• Chocolate Almond: Add ¼ teaspoon pure almond
extract along with the vanilla. Add
1/8 cup chopped
toasted almonds or chopped chocolate-coated
almonds during the last 5 minutes of churning.
• Chocolate Cookie: Add 1/8 cup chopped cookies
during the last 5 minutes of churning.
• Chocolate Fudge Brownie: Add 1/8 cup chopped
brownies during the last 5 minutes of churning.
• Chocolate Marshmallow Swirl: When removing
the ice cream to a container for freezing, layer
it with dollops of your favorite chocolate sauce
and scoops of marshmallow crème (u).

FRESH STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM
• ½ Cup Whole Milk
• ½ Cup Heavy Cream
• ½ Cup Half and Half
• ½ Tsp. Pure
Vanilla Extract
• ¼ Cup White
Granulated Sugar
• ½ Cup Fresh, Ripe
Strawberries,
stemmed and sliced
• ½ Tsp. Freshly
Squeezed
Lemon Juice
In a small bowl, combine the strawberries with the lemon
juice and 1/8 cup of the sugar; stir gently and allow the
strawberries to marinate in the juices for 2 hours.
In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer or a whisk to combine
the milk and remaining granulated sugar until the
sugar is dissolved, about 1 – 2 minutes on low speed.
Stir in the heavy cream plus any accumulated
juices from the strawberries and vanilla.
Turn ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER on, pour
mixture into Freezer Bowl and let churn
until thickened, about 30 minutes.
DO NOT ll the bowl more than ²/3 full, as the
mixture will expand during freezing process.
Add the sliced strawberries during the
last 5 minutes of churning.
Makes approximately four ½ cup servings.
NOTE: The ice cream will have a “natural” appearance of
very pale pink. If a deeper pink is desired, sparingly add
drops of red food coloring until desired color is achieved.
CHOCOLATE FROZEN YOGURT
• ½ Cup Whole Milk
• 1 Cup Low Fat
Vanilla Yogurt
•
1/8 Cup White
Granulated Sugar
• 3-oz. Semi-Sweet
Chocolate, chopped
Combine the milk and chocolate in a blender
or food processor and mix until well blended
and smooth, about 20 – 30 seconds.
Add the yogurt and sugar, mix again
until smooth, about 15 seconds.
Turn ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER on, pour
mixture into Freezer Bowl and let churn
until thickened, about 30 minutes.
DO NOT ll the bowl more than ²/3 full, as the
mixture will expand during freezing process.
Makes approximately four ½ cup servings.

REFRESHING LEMON SORBET
•
3/4 Cup Sugar
• ½ Cup Water,
well chilled
• ¼ Cup Carbonated
Mineral Water,
well chilled
• ½ Cup Freshly
Squeezed
Lemon Juice
• ½ Tbsp. Finely
Grated Lemon Zest
Combine the sugar and water in a medium saucepan
and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to low and simmer without stirring
until the sugar dissolves, about 3 – 5 minutes.
Cool completely.
This is called a simple syrup, and may be made ahead
in larger quantities to have on hand for making fresh
lemon sorbet. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
When cool, add the lemon juice, mineral
water and zest; stir to combine.
Turn ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER on, pour
mixture into Freezer Bowl and let churn
until thickened, about 30 minutes.
DO NOT ll the bowl more than ²/3 full, as the
mixture will expand during freezing process.
Makes approximately ve ½ cup servings.
VARIATION:
Fresh Pink Grapefruit Sorbet: Substitute ½ cup freshly
squeezed pink grapefruit juice for the lemon juice, and ½
tablespoon nely grated grapefruit zest for the lemon zest.
Add 1/8 cup Orgeat Syrup to the mixture (Orgeat Syrup is
used for cocktails such as a Mai Tai or Scorpion and can
be found with the drink mixers in most grocery stores).

PIEZAS Y ENSAMBLAJE
Extraiga la HELADERA ELÉCTRICA de la caja y lave el Tazón Congelador,
la Cubierta y el Agitador con un paño no abrasivo en agua jabonosa tibia
y séquelos minuciosamente. NO lave el Alojamiento del Motor.
Frote cuidadosamente el Alojamiento del Motor con un paño o esponja no abrasivos.
NUNCA sumerja el Alojamiento del Motor en agua. Séquelo completamente.
Ahora está listo para elaborar un delicioso helado cremoso en su HELADERA ELÉCTRICA.

1. Empuje la Cubierta sobre el Alojamiento del Motor hasta

2. Inserte el Agitador en el Alojamiento del Motor y alinee
los surcos del Agitador con la Cubierta.
3. Deslice hacia delante el alojamiento del motor hasta que ajuste en su lugar.
4. Coloque el Alojamiento del Motor con la Cubierta y el Agitador
acoplados en la parte superior del Tazón Congelador.
5. Gire la cubierta en el sentido de las agujas del reloj y deslícela
en los dientes de cierre hasta que ajuste en su lugar.

CÓMO OPERARLO
1. Antes de comenzar, encuentre una supercie estable cerca de una toma de
corriente. Asegúrese de que el cable esté lejos de cualquier fuente de agua.
Si es necesario, es aceptable la utilización de un cable de extensión.
2. Enfríe un Tazón Congelador introduciéndolo en una bolsa plástica
y colocándolo en un congelador. La congelación adecuada del
Tazón Congelador debe demorar alrededor de 12 horas.
3. Para conrmar que el Tazón Congelador está lo sucientemente congelado
como para comenzar a elaborar helados, agítelo ligeramente después de su
congelación. Si oye movimiento de líquido dentro del Tazón Congelador, no está lo
sucientemente congelado. NO agite el Tazón Congelador con demasiada fuerza ni
lo deje caer, ya que podría dañarse y entonces con congelaría adecuadamente.
4. Elija su receta favorita y prepare la mezcla de helado según las instrucciones de la
receta. Enfríe la mezcla durante al menos una hora antes de hacer el helado.
5. Vierta la mezcla de helado fría a través de la Ventana de Ingredientes en el Tazón
Congelador frío. Asegúrese de no llenar el tazón más de 2/3 de su capacidad,
ya que la mezcla se expandirá durante el proceso de congelación.
6. Inserte el cable de alimentación del Alojamiento del Motor en una toma de corriente.
7. Encienda el Alojamiento del Motor colocando el interruptor en la posición "ON".
8. Comenzará la mezcla.
9. El helado debe estar listo en alrededor de 20 a 40 minutos. El tiempo necesario
para terminar una receta puede variar ligeramente dependiendo de los
ingredientes utilizados. NO opera la Heladera durante más de 40 minutos.
10. NO mezcle en exceso el helado, ya que esto puede causar que el helado se espese
demasiado, dando como resultado la parada del motor. Si el motor se detiene,
lleve el interruptor a la posición "OFF", desconecte la unidad y retire la Cubierta y el
Alojamiento del Motor del Tazón Congelador girando la Cubierta en sentido contrario
a las agujas del reloj. Permita que el helado se ablande ligeramente, entonces sírvalo.
11. Tenga presente que la HELADERA ELÉCTRICA tiene una funcionalidad de seguridad que
evita que se sobrecaliente el motor eléctrico. Si el helado se espesa demasiado o si el
motor eléctrico funciona mucho tiempo, el motor eléctrico se detendrá automáticamente.
Si esto ocurre, coloque el interruptor en la posición "OFF" y permita que el motor
eléctrico se enfríe antes de continuar con el proceso de elaboración de helados.
12. Después de haber terminado la elaboración de helados y de haber llevado el interruptor
a la posición "OFF", desconecte la unidad y retire la Cubierta y el Alojamiento del Motor
del Tazón Congelador girando la Cubierta en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj.
13. Retire el Agitador del Alojamiento del Motor y raspe el exceso de helado con una espátula.
14. Transera el helado hacia un recipiente apto para la congelación y
congélelo, o sírvalo directamente desde el Tazón Congelador.

CONSEJOS ÚTILES
SABOR
El helado terminado siempre tendrá un sabor menos dulce que la mezcla inicial. Puede
ajustar la cantidad de azúcar de la receta para adecuarla a su gusto. Se pueden utilizar
edulcorantes articiales en vez de azúcar. Use las medidas siguientes como referencia:
• 1 paquete de edulcorante = 2 cucharaditas de azúcar
• 6 paquetes de edulcorante = ¼ taza de azúcar
• 8 paquetes de edulcorante = ¹/3 taza de azúcar
• 12 paquetes de edulcorante = ½ taza de azúcar
MOTOR
Si el motor está bloqueado y no funciona correctamente, puede ser
que el helado esté muy espeso, causando que el Agitador no gire
adecuadamente. Asegúrese de seguir exactamente cada receta.
ATASCOS
Si el Agitador se atasca y no gira apropiadamente, intente lo siguiente:
• Revise para asegurarse de que el Agitador esté correctamente instalado
en el Alojamiento del Motor, que el cable esté conectado en la toma de
corriente y que el interruptor de la unidad esté en la posición "ON".
• Las recetas de helados que incluyen ingredientes duros tales como nueces o
virutas de chocolate pueden causar que el Agitador NO añada ingredientes
duros hasta los últimos cinco minutos del proceso de agitación.
• NO interrumpa el proceso de agitación hasta que el helado esté
terminado. La interrupción en medio del proceso puede causar que el
helado se endurezca y restrinja el movimiento del Agitador.
LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
1. Asegúrese de que la unidad esté apagado y de que la unidad esté desconectada.
2. Retire la Cubierta y el Alojamiento del Motor del Tazón Congelador
girando la Cubierta en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj.
3. Raspe cualquier exceso de helado del Agitador y retire la Cubierta y el Agitador
del Alojamiento del Motor deslizando la Cubierta hacia delante.
4. Lave el Tazón Congelador, la Cubierta y el Agitador con un paño no abrasivo
en agua jabonosa tibia y séquelos completamente. NO ensamble de nuevo
la Heladera hasta que todas las piezas estén completamente secas.
5. Limpie el Alojamiento del motor utilizando un paño o esponja
no abrasivos humedecidos. Séquelo completamente.
6. NUNCA sumerja el Alojamiento del Motor en agua ni en ningún otro líquido.
7. NO use utilice limpiadores agresivos ni abrasivos.
8. NO utilice una esponja, paño ni estropajo abrasivos en la unidad.
9. NO congele el Tazón Congelador cuando esté húmedo.
10. Lave la unidad SOLAMENTE a mano. NO ponga las piezas en el lavavajillas.
11. Puede guardar el Tazón Congelador en un congelador cuando no esté en uso
de manera que esté listo para cuando haga su próximo lote de helado.
