INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Determine where the Eliminator 80 will be located. It must
be against an outside wall and should be near an electrical
outlet. Avoid conditions that may inhibit air flow to the unit.
2. To set the height of the Eliminator 80, tighten the
adjusting screws on the side of the unit in the
desired position. The Eliminator 80 must be
installed such that the bottom edge of the
unit is raised 2 inches (51 mm) above the
floor. For crawl spaces, use only the top section mounted
above the floor by 2 inches.
3. Cut two pieces of gasket material equal to the
height of the Eliminator 80. Attach to the back of the
mounting flanges. This will form an air seal against the
wall. When the bottom section is used, install the gasket
on the rear bend and mounting flange of this section.
4. Using a reciprocating, jig or hole saw, cut a 5½-inch
(1400 mm) diameter hole through the wall or sill plate. This is
where you will run the flex pipe between the Eliminator 80 and
the outside hood. Before making the hole, be sure there is no
plumbing, electrical wire or other obstruction behind the wall or
outside.
5. Measure the amount of flex pipe needed. Secure flex to the top collar on the
Eliminator 80 with tie wraps supplied.
6. Run flex to the outside and cut with knife.
7. From the outside of the house, peel back 3-4” (762-1016 mm) of the insulation from the flex pipe
and tape the flex pipe to the outside hood.
8. Mount the hood to the outside using wood screws. Use caulking to create a
seal between the house and hood.
9. Stand the Eliminator 80 against the wall where it is to be mounted. Drill a pilot hole
for your sheet rock anchors (finished wall) using the predrilled holes in the mounting flange of
the Eliminator 80.
10. Insert the anchors and fasten the Eliminator 80 to the wall using a washer and wood screw in each hole.
11. Plug in the Eliminator 80, and set the dehumidistat to the desired level: 40% –60% (recommended). Your
Eliminator 80 will engage high speed when levels exceed the set point.
OPERATION:
Turn on the Eliminator 80 by turning the speed control clockwise until you hear a click (this is high speed). Set
the speed control to its continuous operation setting. Clockwise = lower speed. We recommend you start out at
the lowest setting and adjust based on room size and severity of the humidity/odour problem.
MAINTENANCE:
Every 3 months, check hood for blockage.
