Download the FeverSmart™ App
Create an account and prole for your
child.
Insert batteries to Base Station
To take the Monitor out of sleep mode, place it on
the Base Station for at least 15 seconds once the
batteries have been inserted. The LED light will then
turn on.
The Monitor is pre-charged, however check battery
life once your phone is paired with the App.
Please refer to Page 13 for more guidance on
Base Station lights.

Pair Monitor and Phone
If you haven’t already done so, go
into your child’s prole and press
Start.
Hold the Monitor close to your phone
and tap the button to start pairing.
Ensure the Monitor is not placed in the
Base Station when pairing.

Apply Adhesive Patch to Monitor
Locate the side of the Adhesive Patch backing
labelled ‘1’
Remove both parts of the backing, as
shown above.
Then stick it onto the grey side of the Monitor,
ensuring it is aligned to the metal sensor.

labelled ‘2’
Ensure both parts of the backing is
removed, as shown above.

through the step by step process on how to apply the Monitor to your child.

Locate the metal sensor
This will need to be placed in
your child's armpit.
Stick the Monitor to your child
Ensure the Monitor is positioned
correctly with the metal
sensor in their armpit
Apply light pressure to the
Monitor if needed to ensure it is
securely in place.
Warm-Up & Use
The Monitor will then warm up.
This can take up to 8 minutes.
During warm up and use ensure
the child’s arm is covering
the end of the Monitor with
the metal sensor.
Please refer to the trouble shooting questions in the settings section of the App, or call customer service if any issues

The Base Station boosts the Bluetooth®signal from the Monitor.
The Base Station must be kept within
1.5m/4.5ft from the
Monitor in order for it to boost the signal effectively.
Please ensure the Base Station is out of reach of the child

IMPORTANT
Bluetooth®communication consumes phone battery, ensure your phone is sufciently
charged to stay powered throughout the use period, or plug it in when in use.
You can leave the App at any time, however do not close the App down as your
temperature session will be lost.
Ensure Push Notications are enabled on your phones settings, and your phone is not
muted or on ‘do not disturb.’ FeverSmart™’s critical notications (such as
temperature alerts) cannot work without Push Notications. For FeverSmart™ to assist you
in monitoring your child, you must enable these in your device’s Settings menu.
Remember to check on your child regularly for signs and symptoms of illness
Ensure your child’s arm is down and covering the temperature sensor at all times.

FeverSmart™ is designed to accurately
measure armpit temperature which is
approximately 1°C lower than core
body temperature or 0.5°C
lower than an ear or oral
temperature.
This is completely normal because
temperatures differ according to site
of measurement on the body.
Core body temperature +1ºC
Ear/Oral temperature +0.5ºC

Using the colours shown below, your FeverSmart™ Temperature Monitor clearly indicates whether your
child's temperature is normal, moderate or high based on their age.
Sometimes a hot or cold room
temperature can inuence
temperature readings,
therefore, ensure the end of the
Monitor with the temperature sensor
is covered by your child’s arm,
including during warm-up and use.
If during use you notice a sudden
drop or lower than expected
temperature, ensure the sensor is
covered by your child's arm.
If the temperature reading is outside of these ranges, the screen will change to Light Grey.

If you have enabled Push Notications, you will receive a temperature notication on your
device if your child's temperature is in the “high” range.
Temperature shown in degrees Celsius.
For UK, as a general rule as per NHS guidance, in children a temperature of over 37.5°C
(99.5F) is a fever.

FEVERSMART™ TEMPERATURE SCREENS
The temperature screen shows your child's current armpit temperature, the graph below this shows your
child's temperature over time. Rotate the phone to horizontal to see the temperature over longer periods.
NOTE - App screen visuals may change overtime. Refer to the App for most recent images.

When the Monitor has nished warming up.

When the connection between the Monitor and the phone has

Clean the Monitor with an alcohol
wipe (70% Isopropyl alcohol) on
both sides before applying a
new Adhesive Patch.
Remove the Adhesive Patch
To remove the Monitor from your
child, use your ngers to slowly
loosen around the edges before
gently lifting it from the skin.
Then pull the Adhesive Patch
from the back of the Monitor and
discard the Adhesive Patch.
Remove any residue with gentle
cleaning of the skin.

BASE STATION CHARGING LIGHTS
The Base Station will display the following lights to indicate charging:
LED Light on for the rst 15 seconds - AAA batteries are fully functional.
LED Light blinks at a 2 second frequency - the Monitor is charging
LED Light blinks at a 5 second frequency - the Monitor is fully charged
LED Light blinks for rst 15 seconds - AAA batteries are not full and have limited life left
LED light doesn't turn on at all - no charge left in battery, or check batteries have been
inserted correctly
The level of battery in the FeverSmart™ Temperature Monitor is always displayed on the App.

It is advised that you charge the Monitor for a minimum of 2 hours.

INTENDED USE AND PRECAUTIONS (CONTINUED OVERLEAF)
Intended use:
The wireless FeverSmart
™
Temperature Monitor is a non-invasive and re-usable electronic device for home use.
This product is intended for non-urgent ambulatory continuous armpit body temperature Monitoring for all ages.
Precautions:
1. Any form of modication to this device is forbidden.
2. Do not excessively bend or twist the Monitor.
3. The Monitor measures body temperature continuously, however other signs and symptoms are important indicators
of your child's wellbeing and some may indicate the need for medical attention. Always continue to Monitor
your child's wellbeing and other signs and symptoms.
4. To receive temperature notications, you must ensure that Push Notications are enabled and that your phone is not
‘muted’ or on ‘do not disturb.
5. Do not apply the Monitor to wounded or irritated skin. Ensure the Monitor stays in continuous contact with the skin.
6. The Monitor is non-sterile.
7. The Monitor is not intended to detect, diagnose or Monitor hypothermia (an axillary body temperature below 34°C)
8. It is recommended to seek advice from a healthcare professional if:
- the child continues to show an elevated body temperature,
- any of the following signs and symptoms are present irrespective of whether the body temperature is elevated or not:
persistent vomiting, refusal to feed, oppiness, drowsiness, stiff neck, seizure, pain in urinating, problems with breathing.
9. The Monitor should only be used with its own accessories. Failure to do so may result in inaccurate measurements,
damage to skin or damage to the Monitor.
10. The accuracy of measurement may be inuenced by external factors such as incorrect placement of the device, extreme
room temperatures, some skin conditions and use of unauthorised accessories.
11. If using medication to treat your child always refer to the instructions for use provided with the medicine.

PRECAUTIONS CONT.
12. The monitor is recommended for indoor use only.
13. The monitor is to be worn under the armpit. If the monitor is not covered by the child’s arm and is exposed to ambient
temperature it may cause inaccurate temperature readings
14. Do not submerge the monitor in water. The monitor should be removed for bath or shower and re-applied after.
15. Do not use this device together with MRI or CT equipment.
16. In case of skin rash or irritation, gently remove monitor and seek advice from a healthcare professional.
17. Keep the product out of child's mouth.
18. The user may only change the Base Station AAA batteries. The user should not attempt to service the monitor in any other way.
19. Product setup should be performed by adults. Please call customer service for support if any issues occur during device setup.
20. Keep out of reach and sight of children when not in use.
Precautions relating to the Adhesive Patches:
1. It is recommended that the Adhesive Patch is replaced every 24 hours however some users may want to replace more often
due to skin type and comfort.
2. In case of skin rash or irritation, gently remove monitor and seek advice from a healthcare professional.
3. Do not use on damaged, broken or irritated skin.
4. Avoid applying the Adhesive Patch to area that has signicant body hair as this can make removal difcult.
5. Keep dry and out of direct sunlight.
6. Use only FeverSmart™ Adhesive Patches with FeverSmart™ Temperature Monitor.
7. Adhesive Patch not for use in premature babies, babies considered to have low birth weight or are small for gestational age.

TROUBLESHOOTING

4. The arm is not consistently kept in the natural

warm-up and period of use.
5. The operation temperature is too high or too low.
6. The monitor was worn before pairing.
7. Temperature sensor maybe exposed to cold
ambient room temperature
8. Child touched sensor before wearing.

2. Check device’s location or contact with the
armpit.
3. Keep the Monitor attached for eight minutes
before reading temperature.
4. Keep child's arm covering Monitor sensor
consistently.
5. Use this device under instructed operation
temperature (10°C -40°C).
6. Pair the monitor before wearing.
7. Ensure the monitor is covered by the child's arm
8. Do not touch the sensor before wearing
1. Enable Bluetooth® feature in the smart phone.
2. Move the smart phone closer to the monitor.
3. Reposition the child so the end of the monitor is
clear from obstruction.
