THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical equipment, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce
the risk of re, electric shock, and injury to
persons, including the following:
• Read all instructions before using this Hydroxyl
Generator.
• To avoid re or shock hazard, plug the equipment
directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
• If the generator is covered by a bag when
shipped: Remove plastic bag before use.
• Keep the cord out of heavy trafc areas. To avoid
re hazard, NEVER put the cord under rugs, near
heat registers, radiators, stoves, or heaters.
• To protect against electrical hazards, DO NOT
immerse in water or other liquids. Do not use near
water.
• Close supervision is necessary when any
generator is used by or near children, or disabled
persons.
• WARNING! Always unplug the generator before
moving it, cleaning, or whenever the generator is
not in use. Be sure to pull by the plug and not
the cord.
• NEVER drop or insert any object into any
openings.
• DO NOT use an extension cord. Doing so can
create potential safety hazards.
• DO NOT operate any generator with a damaged
cord or plug, if motor fan fails to rotate, after the
generator malfunctions, or if it has been dropped
or damaged in any manner. Return generator
to manufacturer or authorized repair facility for
examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment,
or repair.
• Use generator only for intended use as described
in this manual. Any other use not recommended by
the manufacturer may cause re, electric shock,
or injury to persons. The use of attachments not
recommended may cause hazards.
• DO NOT use outdoors.
• NEVER block the air openings, grills/outlets or
place on a soft surface such as a bed or sofa, as
this could cause the unit to tip over, blocking the
Air Intake Opening/Grill.
• Keep unit away from heated surfaces and open
ames.
• CAUTION: For General Ventilating Use Only.
Do Not Use to Exhaust Hazardous or Explosive
Materials and Vapors.
• DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical
or mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will
void your warranty. The inside of the unit contains
no user serviceable parts. All servicing should be
performed by qualied personnel only.
• WARNING! To reduce the risk of re or electric
shock, DO NOT use this generator with any solid-
state speed control device.
• DO NOT place anything on top of generator.
• DO NOT plug the cord in with wet hands: electric
shock could result.
• NEVER use detergents, gasoline, glass cleaner,
furniture polish, paint thinner or other household
solvents to clean any part of the generator.
• To avoid a shock, plug the unit’s three-prong
plug into a grounded outlet.
• DO NOT under any circumstances cut or remove
the third (Ground) prong from power cord. For
personal safety, this generator must be properly
grounded.

The Control Panel
1) Main Power Switch – Turns power on to the Decon Scrubber. This switch must be in the “ON”
position before trying to control the “FAN SPEED” or “PROCESSOR” switches.
2) Fan Speed Switch – Controls the speed of the fan and airow through the system.
3) Processor Switch – OFF/LOW/HIGH. This switch controls the number of hydroxyl generating
optics in operation.
4) Hour Meter – Quartz non-reversible indicator of accumulated hours of use.
5) Minihelic Gauge – Gauge which senses the static pressure through the 4 inch lter. Used to indi-
cate when it is time to replace the 4 inch lter.
6) Processor Indicator (Green) – Indicates that the hydroxyl generating optics are on.
7) 15 Amp Breaker – AC power circuit protection for the Decon Scrubber.
8) 2 Amp Breaker – AC power circuit protection for the optic circuit.

OPERATING THE DECON SCRUBBER

POWER ON
The main power for the scrubber can be switched on by turning the MAIN POWER switch to the ON
position.
POWER OFF
The main power for the scrubber can be switched off by turning the MAIN POWER switch to the OFF
position.
FAN SPEED
The Decon Scrubber is equipped with an air mover fan, which runs between 750 and 1500 cubic feet
per minute.
In order for the fan to turn on, the MAIN POWER switch must be in the ON position. Once the MAIN
POWER switch is on, the fan speed can be controlled by rotating the FAN SPEED knob clockwise to
increase the speed, or counter clockwise to decrease the speed.
PROCESSOR SWITCH
The Decon Scrubber is equipped with three hydroxyl generating optics. In order for these optics to
turn on, the MAIN POWER switch must rst be turned on.
With the PROCESSOR switch in the OFF position, all optics are off.
With the PROCESSOR switch in the LOW position, two optics are on. The green PROCESSOR
indicator will turn on in this position.
With the PROCESSOR switch in the HIGH position, all three optics are on. The green PROCESSOR
indicator will turn on in this position.

The manner in which you position the Decon Scrubber can have a big impact on
its efciency. You may have to experiment a little to nd the best position for the
system. You should position the system as per (Figure 1) for efcient decontami-
nation.
If you are using two or more systems, place them so they blow into the contami-
nated area to create a vortex. For example, if you are using two systems, place
one on each side of the affected area (Figure 2).

Warning: DISCONNECT the unit from an electrical power source before
performing any maintenance or cleaning on the unit.
SYSTEM CASE CLEANING
Exterior
The exterior of the machine can be cleaned with mild dishwashing detergent and a clean cloth, and
then rinsed with clean water. DO NOT use any all-purpose cleaners with harsh detergents or abra-
sives, as these may damage the decals and the exterior nish. Care should also be taken to avoid
spraying or otherwise directing detergent or water into or around electrical components.
Interior
The interior of the Decon Scrubber can be cleaned in the same manner as the exterior.
OPTIC CLEANING
Cleaning of the optics is recommended to maintain peak processing efciency. Fingerprints, smudg-
es, dirt, dust particles, etc. will interfere with the hydroxyl production and should be avoided.
Note: Remove the optics from the optic chamber prior to cleaning to avoid any damage to
the optics during the cleaning process (refer to the Optic Replacement Instructions for proper
removal).
To clean the optics, use a solution of 10% Isopropyl Alcohol (Isopropyl Alcohol strength of 70% or
90%) and 90% ltered/distilled water on a clean lint-free cloth and wipe gently. Do not use any type
of commercial glass cleaner. Using another lint-free cloth, gently wipe the optic until completely dry.
Allow the optic to dry completely (20 minutes) before operating the system.
