SAFETY INFORMATION
Li-ion battery
Do not short circuit the contacts.
Do not disassemble, do not damage.
Do not expose to high temperatures (>60°C).
May explode if disposed in fire.
Must be disposed properly.
Important notes for the LX8 with GSM or Wi-Fi Module
Caution: being in the transmitting state, the device produces strong electro-magnetic radiation.
Electro-magnetic fields are suspected of being harmful to human health.
When using the pager and a medical device (e.g. pacemaker or hearing aid) at the same time,
have a distance between them as large as possible. In case of a pacemaker the pager should be
belt-worn, not pocket-worn. Whenever the medical device is affected by the pager, turn the pager
off at once.
Prior to any usage of the pager inside a vehicle, the safety instructions of the vehicle have to be
checked. Never operate the pager while driving a vehicle.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The pager is to be used by a variety of different users, such as Community First Responders
(CFRs), Fire and Ambulance services and utilities or other organizations that require a paging
solution. The intended use of this product is to receive important messages. Any other use does
not comply with the intended use. Misuse may constitute risks to persons or pager.
Make sure to read safety information.
Switch off transmitter and do not send messages in mobile phone free areas.
Do not disassemble pager (invalidates warranty).
Use original charge cable / desk charger only.
Keep batteries away from little children.
The pager must not be subject to the influence of strong magnetic fields, e.g. loudspeakers, TV
set etc.
Keep pager away from direct sunlight.
The pager is not suitable to be used within explosive areas.
BATTERY OPERATIONS
Removing the battery
Unlock the battery door with thumb and forefinger (1), lift (2) and remove the battery cover (3).

Attaching the battery
Relocate the battery door and use thumb and forefinger to click the battery door clips securely into
place.
IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE BATTERY UNTIL THE PAGER IS COMPLETELY
POWERED OFF.
Charge battery
Remove the rubber charging port cover and connect the charger cable to the pager.
Charging will automatically stop when the battery is completely charged – the battery icon
will be full (in status line).
Carefully remove the charger cable and replace the rubber charging port cover.
If you use a desk charger keep charging pads clean. If you need to store the chargeable
battery for a long time do it in a half-charged state (not completely discharged or charged).
Initial battery charge
Please ensure that you charge a new battery for 6 hours before general use, this will
ensure the new battery is fully charged.
Factory-new batteries reach their maximum possible capacity after several cycles of
charge and discharge, only.
TURN PAGER ON
Press and hold lower right button to turn pager on.
NOTE: THE PAGER TURNS ON AUTOMATICALLY AFTER INSERT BATTERY.
PIN coded
If the pager is protected against unauthorized operation, then the PIN code has to be
keyed in, only after the battery was inserted.

KEY LOCK
Press and hold the lower left button and then press the function top left button to enable or
disable the key lock function.
In case of alert the key lock function will be disabled automatically.
BACKLIGHT
Press and hold the lower left button to switch on or off button and display backlight.
In case of backlight is switched on then display backlight will switch off automatically in
standby screen and switched on again on any operation.

The status line is displayed on standby screen and on message memory screen.
The status line shows current pager status and operational warnings.

CONTRAST (SERVICE MENU)
To adjust display contrast please turn the pager off.
Turn the pager in service mode by the pressing following buttons in sequence.

PAGER DISABLED
In case the pager displays PAGER DISABLED it cannot receive messages any longer because
battery is low, pager is damaged or the rescue coordination center disabled the pager.
PROGRAMMING PAGER
The pager can be adapted individually to your needs by programming.
Any function may have been disabled during programming so that it is not available on pager.
Programming is done via computer and programming kit (adapter and programming software).
EMERGENCY STATUS MESSAGE
GSM or Wi-Fi option.
Press and hold the “function” button starts the emergency countdown. While the countdown
runs the emergency status message is canceled by pressing the “read” button . Otherwise the
emergency status message will send after countdown.
MAINTENANCE
• Check battery, regularly.
• Clean the pager as required using a moist cloth.
• Under no circumstances must strong solutions as methylated spirits, petrol or nail varnish
remover be used.
