SB-82 Bracket Installation Guide
July 2015
The On Point Audio SB-82 is designed for use with the OPALine-82 column
loudspeaker system. The SB-82 may be used to suspend a maximum of TWO
OPALine-82 column speakers. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SUSPEND MORE THAN TWO
OPA-82 LOUDSPEAKERS FROM AN SB-82. The SB-82 may be used to suspend one
or two OPALine-82 column loudspeakers from a ceiling or other overhead structural
component.
NOTE: Two SB-82 brackets are required for a complete installation. One SB-82 is
required on the top most enclosure and a second SB-82 is required as a “pull up” point
at the bottom of the enclosure or enclosure array.

2
The image above shows an SB-82 with two OPALine-82 enclosures (a TBEC-82 is
used to join the two OPALine-82 enclosures and the SB-82 is used to suspend the
assembly). Note that two SB-82 brackets are used. One is located at the top of the
array and the second SB-82 is located at the bottom of the lower OPALine-82 enclosure
as a pull up point.
The On Point Audio SB-82 is easy to install and a flexible accessory that is designed to
allow either a single OPALine-82 or two OPALine-82 loudspeaker enclosures to be
mounted from a ceiling or other structural overhead surfaces. The only product
approved for use with the SB-82 is the OPALine-82 enclosure. NO other products may
be substituted!
NOTE: The SB-82 was designed to be mounted from a ceiling or other structural
overhead surfaces ONLY!
NOTE: The OPALine-82 enclosure and SB-82 are for INDOOR use only! DO NOT USE
IN OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTS!
NO OTHER LOUDSPEAKERS SHOULD BE SUBSTITUTED!
The following actions MUST be performed PRIOR to beginning the installation of the
PTB-82 and OPALine-82 enclosure:
1. This installation guide must be completely read and understood.
2. The instruction manual “Rigging and Suspension of On Point Audio

3
Products” must be read and understood. (This instruction manual is
available along with other technical papers at www.onesystems.com)
3. The structure of the mating surface MUST be capable of supporting the
combined weight of the SB-82 brackets, the OPALine-82 loudspeakers and
all associated rigging. The mounting surface must satisfy the required
safety factors specified by local and national codes, as well as safe rigging
practices. The SB-82 weighs 0.2kg (0.44 lb.). The OPALine-82 enclosure
weighs 2.8kg (6.2 lb.). A maximum of two (2) OPALine-82 enclosures may
be suspended from an SB-82 bracket. If two enclosures are used the weight
of the TBEC coupling bracket must also be added. The TBEC-82 weighs
0.2kg (0.44 lb.)
4. The SB-82 bracket should be installed only by someone experienced in the
overhead suspension of items. They should be familiar with applicable
local/national codes governing the installation of these types of products
and those governing the attachment of these types of products to specific
structures.
CAUTION: The SB-82 bracket and OPALine-82 enclosure are designed for INDOOR
use and installation ONLY! DO NOT INSTALL IN OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTS!
INSTALLATION
The SB-82 consists of a single part and is shown in Figure 1 below.
Figure 1
The first step is to mount the SB-82 brackets to the top section of the OPALine-82, or
the top section of the TOP OPALine-82 if two OPALine-82 enclosures (and a TBEC-82)

4
are being suspended. The second SB-82 should be mounted to the lower part of the
OPALine-82 enclosure, or the lower part of the lowest OPALine-82 if two OPALine-82
enclosures are arrayed (See images on page 5 of this document). The SB-82 should be
attached using the supplied hardware to the top mounting points, as shown in red color
below.
Use the mounting locations on the rear of the OPALine-82 shown in red ONLY!
Use all of the mounting hardware supplied, including all washers and lock washers. DO
NOT SUBSTITUTE ANY FASTENERS!
SB-82’s are shown below mounted to both a single OPALine-82 (left image) and
mounted to two OPALine-82 enclosures with the required TBEC-82 (right image).
Once the SB-82’s are securely mounted to the rear side of the OPALine-82, the
assembly may be suspended using appropriate rigging hardware. The choice of the
appropriate associated rigging hardware is NOT recommended by One Systems, or On
Point Audio, and is the responsibility of others.

5
The SB-82 bracket includes 7 each 0.26 inch diameter (6.5mm) locations at the top of
the bracket. These locations can be used to assist in setting the required down tilt angle
of the bracket and column loudspeaker assembly. The holes are shown in the image
below.
The hole shown above is used as the pull up point on the SB-82 mounted on the lower
portion of the rear of the enclosure or enclosure array.

6
IT IS CRITICAL THAT THE MATING SURFACE BE CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING THE
LOAD OF THE SB-82 BRACKETS, THE OPALINE-82 LOUDSPEAKER AND ALL
SUSPENSION HARDWARE, AS WELL AS PROVIDING THE PROPER SAFETY
FACTORS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SUSPEND THE BRACKET AND LOUDSPEAKER
UNTIL THE STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MATING SURFACE ARE
UNDERSTOOD. DO NOT INSTALL THE SB-82 BRACKETS AND OPALINE-82
LOUDSPEAKERS IF THE MATING SURFACE IS NOT CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING
THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY WEIGHT, AS WELL AS PROVIDING THE REQUIRED
SAFETY FACTORS!
Secondary safety cables are STRONGLY recommended!
