Getting Started
The charger base is not waterproof, ensure the radio is
dry before connecting it to the charger.
Before First Use
• Carefully remove the Handheld UHF CB Radio from its
packaging. If there is any visible damage, do not attempt to
operate it. Contact our after sales support centre for advise
using the details on the bottom of the page.
• Your new Handheld UHF CB Radio comes with a rechargeable
Li-Ion battery ready installed. Before first use, fully charge the
battery for 10 to 14 hours with the unit turned off while charging.
Charging the Battery
The AUHR-014 must be used with its original charger base and
AC adaptor or car adaptor.
• Make sure the unit is turned off.
• Connect the jack of the AC adaptor or the car adaptor to the
socket at the back of the charger base. Make sure the jack is
fully and firmly inserted into the socket.
• Connect the AC adaptor to the mains power supply or the car
adaptor to the car cigarette lighter socket. The LED indicator on
the charger base will turn green.
• Place the unit into the charger base. The LED indicator on the
charger base will turn RED and the battery charging symbol will
flash on the LCD display.
• Once the battery is fully charged, the LED indicator will turn
green. Unplug the adaptor and store it safely. Turn the unit on.
Turn the page for some important notes about recharging.
When the battery status icon flashes and "bA low"

• This equipment contains a Lithium Ion battery pack. Do not
charge the battery pack in any charger other than the one
supplied, which is designed to charge this battery pack. Using
another charger may damage the battery pack or cause the
battery pack to explode.
• If you are not going to use the unit for a long period of time,
e.g. several weeks, please take out the battery to prevent
damage.
• Only replace batteries with the same or equivalent type
recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not short-circuit the battery pack.
• Lithium Ion batteries must be disposed of properly. Consult
your local recycling authorities for proper disposal instructions.
• Do not dispose of the battery pack in a fire. Doing so may
cause an explosion.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• LED indicators on the charger base will NOT turn off
automatically. You will have to take the unit out the charger base
and disconnect the electricity.
• It takes approximately 6 hours to fully charge the battery pack
when it is at its lowest level, or around 14 hours to fully charge
a new battery pack. The LED indicators will turn green when the

About Channels
This unit has 80 channels, but not all of these are available; several
are prohibited for voice transmission and others are restricted, as
explained below. The selected channel is displayed on the LCD.
• Channels 5 and 35 are for emergency calling. Do not use
these channels in non-emergency cases. According to AS/
NZS 4365:2011, the operation of selective calling (including
CTCSS and Scrambler) is prohibited on designated emergency
channels 5 and 35.
• Channels 22 or 23 are prohibited for the transmission of
speech telephony signals, according to AS/NZS 4365:2011.
• Channels 61, 62 and 63 are reserved for future use. They
cannot be activated until approved by the ACMA CBRS Class
Licence in Australia.
• Channels 1-8 and 31-38, 41-48 and 71-78 are used as
repeater channels with 750kHz offset. Channels 1-8 and 41-48

Only use this repeater function when a long distance
communication via the local repeater facility is specifically
required. Unless it is necessary, avoid operation on locally used
repeater input channels (channels 31-38 and 71-78) or locally
used repeater receiving channels (channels 1-8 and 41-48).
• Channel 11 is the customary calling channel in Australia for
establishing communication.
• Channel 40 is the customary road vehicle channel.
