the safety indications, such as:
- do not expose a remote control to mechanical shock
- do not store a remote control in wet areas
- do not store a remote control in high temperature areas
- protect a remote control from dust
Basic technical data:
- Remote controls are powered with Li-Ion batteries of CR2032 type (220 mAh).
- Remote controls communicate with a central unit via infrared.
- Effective area of remote control’s work is up to 0,5m from the IR receiver at an angle not exceeding 15o :
Specific conditions may affect the proper work of a remote control:
- The work of a remote control may be disrupted by a bright light. In such case one has to
decrease the distance between the remote control and the IR receiver.
- Objects in between a remote control and IR receiver may disrupt the work of the remote control.
- A discharged battery affects the power of the signal emitted by a remote control.
- One has to remember which remote controls are programmed to which central units.
CAUTION!!! If a remote control stops working or starts working improperly one has to send it back to OPTIGUARD® for repair. It is explicitly forbidden to open a remote
control’s casing and mess with its components throughout the whole warranty period.
CAUTION!!! Due to safety precautions if any remote control is lost then one has to erase the central unit’s memory and program all remote controls once again.

USER MANUAL
Description of buttons and functions of remote controls :
Programming USER remote controls takes place using a specially programmed SHOP remote control.
On the front panel of a remote control there are:
Adding and erasing USER remote controls from a central unit’s memory:
Remote controls may be programmed directly to a central unit. Adding and erasing USER remote controls takes place using a specially programmed SHOP remote control.
One may erase all USER remote controls simultaneously. There is no possibility to erase chosen USER remote controls individually from a device’s memory.
Central unit –possibility to program 20 USER remote controls using 1 SHOP remote control.
Each additionally programmed SHOP remote control takes USER remote control’s place.
4) CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING PROTECTING SENSORS TO A CENTRAL UNIT
AUTION!!! Not adhering to the guidelines below may result in improper work of the system or in extreme cases its damage.
Connecting protecting sensors:
1. Connect the central unit to power.
2. Connect the cable of the protection to the designated port in the central unit or extension unit.
3. Mount, screw or attach the sensor to a merchandise.
4. Connect a special charging cable to the merchandise (on condition that the version of the sensor provides charging).
5. The initiation of the protecting process is indicated with a single acoustic signal as well as blinking of the green highlight in the port and blinking of the LED in the sensor
(on condition that the sensor is equipped with a LED) every 2-3 seconds. If the port does not highlight and the LED in the sensor does not blink, then the product is not
protected (addressable extension units do not have that signal).
CAUTION!!! It is explicitly forbidden to mix spiral cables between various types of sensors and charging cables. Connecting an improper spiral cable or charging cable
may result in damaging a sensor or protected product. In the case of central units and charging sensors one has to use only dedicated accessories designated to work
with a given protecting system. Even though two charging cables may look identical, it is forbidden to mix them between various types of charging cables. Each charging
cable is dedicated to a specific type of sensor.
OPTIGUARD® does not bear responsibility for causes resulting from not adhering to the above guideline.

USER MANUAL
Disconnecting protecting sensors:
A protecting sensor can be disconnected from a central unit only when it is disarmed. Disconnecting it in other state will cause an alarm. A central unit is armed and
disarmed only through using assigned USER remote controls.
Disarming:
Aim a USER remote control from a distance of up to 0,5 m at an armed central unit with a green LED (Armed) lit and press the right button. Receiving a signal from the
remote control is indicated with a single acoustic sound. The central unit should change its status to disarmed. The green LED (Armed) will turn off, and the yellow LED
(Disarmed) will turn on. In this state one can change protecting sensors on display without triggering an alarm: disconnect connectors from ports or detach protections.
The central unit remains in the disarmed state only for 1 minute. After that it will arm automatically.
Arming:
Before arming a central unit one has to check whether all sensors are properly connected and attached to a merchandise. Aim a USER remote control from a distance of up
to 0,5 m at a disarmed central unit with a yellow LED (Disarmed) lit and press the left button. Receiving a signal from the remote control is indicated with a single acoustic
sound. The central unit should change its status to armed. The yellow LED (Disarmed) will turn off, and the green LED (Armed) will turn on. In this state the central unit
protects the display and any interference will cause an alarm. There should be no constantly lit red LED in any sensor. Otherwise, the system will not be work properly and
the merchandise will not be protected.
Automatic arming:
The central unit remains in the disarmed state only for 1 minute. After that it will arm automatically. If personnel needs more time for changing the display it has to disarm
the central unit using a remote control every time after its self-arming.
5) WAY OF PROCEEDING IN CASE OF AN ALARM
Alarms of the devices can be turned off only using assigned USER remote controls. In case of an alarm one has to absolutely follow the guidelines communicated by a store
management. Bearing in mind safety of the protected merchandise one has to precisely locate the cause of the alarm and check the security state of protected products.
Way of proceeding in case of an alarm of a central unit:
1. Cancel the acoustic signal through aiming a USER remote control at a central unit and pressing the right button. The acoustic signal should turn off while the central unit
will enter the silent alarm mode indicated by red LEDs. The central unit will remain in the silent alarm mode for 30 sec. After that it will trigger an acoustic alarm once
again. If more time is needed to remove the cause of the alarm then one has to switch it to a silent alarm mode every time after triggering an alarm.
2. Find the protecting sensor which has caused the alarm. You can identify it by the red LED in the sensor blinking every second and red highlight of the proper port in the
central unit.
3. After finding the sensor which has caused the alarm one has to disarm the central unit through aiming a USER remote control at it and pressing the right button again.
The central unit should change its status to disarmed. The red LED (Armed) will turn off while the yellow one (Disarmed) will start blinking.
4. Now one has to find the cause of the alarm of the protecting sensor:
- If a merchandise has been veered or removed from the sensor.
- If a cable or charging cable has been removed/damaged.
- If the sensor has been removed/damaged.
5. Removing the cause:
- One should put the protected merchandise on the sensor while replacing the sticker with a new one.
- Replace the cable or charging cable with new ones in case of a permanent damage.
- Replace the sensor with a new one in case of a permanent damage.
6. After removing the cause of the alarm connect the protecting sensor’s cable to the central unit’s port. Aim the USER remote control again at the central unit and press
the right button. The central unit will turn into the armed mode. The yellow LED (Disarmed) will turn off and the green LED (Armed) will start blinking, whereas the port
which the cable has been connected to will start blinking green, which means that the system works properly.

6) FAQ
1. The central unit does react to the remote control.
One has to make sure whether he has a proper USER remote control (it is not possible to disarm central units with SHOP remote controls). It may happen that the USER
remote control used may not be programmed (assigned) to the given central unit. Check the LED on the remote control, if it does not lit after pressing the button the
battery may be discharged.
2. The central unit emits a short acoustic signal every minute and disarming the central unit does not turn off that state.
Such state of the central unit indicates that it works on a battery. After connecting the central unit to power the acoustic signal should stop.
3. After changing the merchandise on display we have noticed that the protected merchandise is not attached to the sensor just like previous products.
While changing the merchandise on display one has to also replace stickers. In case there is a necessity to replace the sticker on the sensor one has to use only
OPTIGUARD® stickers dedicated to specific types of sensors. One has to remove the old sticker and clean the surface of the sensor. One has to attach the sticker in such a
way, so that the switch on the sensor freely protrudes through the hole in the sticker. Only by doing so can one provide the proper work of the protecting sensor. It is
explicitly forbidden to attach one sticker onto another.
4. After connecting to power the central unit emits an acoustic alarm.
The cause may be that the anti-sabotage switch is not pressed.
