Warning Symbols
It is important to understand the meanings of the warning symbols to ensure a
correct and safe use of the product and protect you and others from injury. You may
find the meanings of the warning symbols, which you may see in the label or this user
manual, as follow:
General Instructions
OHS Glass Kitchen Scale METEOR is used to measure the food’s weight. This
device has practical weighting function(tare) with digital LCD.

Device Components
Safety Instructions
•Always place the scale on a solid, level and flat surface to weigh.
•Always place the object to be weighed at the center of the weighing platform.
•Do not place any object on the weighing platform before switching the scale on.
•If the scale is not to being used for a long period, please remove the batteries.

ON/OFF/TARE Button
•Clean the scale with a slightly damp cloth, DO NOT immerse the scale inwater
or use chemical/abrasive cleaning agents.
•Keep the scale in a cool dry area.
LCD Display Battery Compartment Cover
Function Indication
Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to switch the scale on.
Press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE button for 2s to switch the scale off.
Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to reset the display to zero.
Press to the UNIT button to select your desired weight unit.

Take out the Insulating Strip
Open the battery compartment cover in the back of
the scale.
Take out the insulating strip.
Close the battery compartment cover.
The LCD displays as below:

Open the battery compartment cover in the back of the scale.
Insert the battery (1x CR2032) into the battery compartment according to the polarity
indications marked inside the compartment.
Close the battery compartment cover. The LCD displays as below:

Initial Start-Up
CAUTION
When the symbol “ ” appears, the device will power off in 4s. Replace with a new battery.
Worn batteries are hazardous waste. Do NOT dispose of them together with the household garbage.
Please refer to the local ordinances and recycling instructions regarding disposal of the worn battery.
To achieve the best performance and protect your scale, please use the authorized/specified
battery.

Initial Start-Up Operation
Changing the Weight Unit
In weighing mode, press the UNIT button to select your desired unit (g, fl:oz.,lb:oz).
The units will be displayed in the LCD display. (The default unit is g)
CAUTION
When finishing the unit selection, you may start to weigh according to
the weighing procedure below. If there is not any operation and the
weight is steady in weighing mode, the scale will turn off automatically
after about 1 minute.
Weighing Mode
Before weighing, you may select your desired weight unit.
(Refer to Changing the Weight Unit for more details)
1. Place the scale on a solid, level and flat surface to weigh.
2. Do not put anything on the scale.
3. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button lightly to go to the weighing mode.
4. You can start to weigh when “0” is shown on the LCD.
5. Place the item you wish to weigh onto the scale, the weight data will beshown.
CAUTION
If there is no operation, the scale will turn off automatically in
about 1 minute. Or you can press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE
button for about 2s to turn off.

Operation Troubleshooting
Measuring with Tare Function
TARE function allows you to weigh different items consecutively without removing
the items from the scale.
1. When the scale is off, press the ON/OFF/TARE button to go to the
weighing mode. You can start to weigh when “0” is shown on the
LCD.
4. Now add the second item(ex:250g) to weigh onto the scale. The LCD will show the weight
of the newly added item.
5. If you remove the second item added to the scale, the LCD will again show zero. But if
you remove all items from the scale, the LCD will show a negative valueindicated
by a minus sign.
2. Place the first item(ex:1300g) you wish to weight onto the scale, the LCD will show the
weight of the first item.
3. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to reset the display to zero.
6. When it shows a negative value, press the ON/OFF/TARE button again, to clear to
zero.
7. If there is no operation, the scale will switch off automatically in about 1 minute. Or
you can press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE button for about 2s to switch the scaleoff.
CAUTION
If the weight is less than 1200g, the "TARE" icon will not appear
on the display by pressing the ON/OFF/TARE button.

Maintenance
When carrying out usual maintenance, please ensure practice of the following Do’s and
Don’ts:
DO use a dry soft cloth to wipe the dust.
DO use a wet soft cloth, dipped into water and wrung out, to wipe the dirt. Then use a
dry soft cloth to dry up the device.
DON’T wash the device with water or immerse it in water.
DON’T use propellant, abrasive or other chemicals to wipe the dirt in avoidance of
discolor or malfunction.
DON’T disassemble this device. If you have any problems, please contact OHS.

EMC Guidance
1. MEDICAL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT needs special precautions regarding EMC and
needs to be installed and put into service according to the EMC information provided in
the ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTS.
2. Wireless communications equipment such as wireless home network devices, mobile
phones, cordless telephones and their base stations, walkie-talkies can affect this
equipment and should be kept at least a distance d = 3,3 m away from the equipment.
(Note. As indicated in Table 6 of IEC 60601-1-2:2007 for ME EQUIPMENT, a typical cell
phone with a maximum output power of 2 W yields d = 3,3 m at an IMMUNITY LEVEL of
3 V/m)
Warranty
OHS warrants its products free of defects in materials and workmanship in normal
use for a period of TEN years from the date of retail purchase.
This warranty does NOT cover damages caused by misuse or abuse, including but not
limited to:
Failure caused by unauthorized repairs or modifications;
Damage caused by shock or drop during transportation;
Failure caused by improper operation inconsistent with the instructions stated in this user
manual;
Malfunction or damage from failure to provide the recommended maintenance;
Damage caused by improper use of power supply.
Should this device require maintenance (or replacement at our option) under warranty,
please deliver the original package to OPTIMA HOME SCALES prepaid. Please return
the store receipt (with the retail purchase date) and a note with reasons to return on it
as well.
