INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEELIFT®LEG-FOOT WALKERS CARE
• For hand washing: use a mild detergent and lukewarm water;
• for machine washing and drying: close fasteners and place the walker in a
mesh bag or in a pillowcase;
• to disinfect after washing: use an antiseptic spray;
• to sterilise: use standard protocols with a steam autoclave. Wait a few hours
to allow the walker to cool and dry completely.

Application of Heelift®leg-foot walkers
PHASE 1:
Open Heelift
leg-foot walker.
Set the additional
pad aside. Keep it
handy, as it may
be necessary in
the future to fur-
ther customise the
leg-foot walker.
PHASE 2:
Place the foot
inside the leg-foot
walker, with the
heel positioned
over the heel su-
spension opening.
The heel should
remain suspended
above the lower
elevation pad.
PHASE 3:
Pull the closing
straps over the
skin towards the
D-rings. Thread
straps through the
D-rings. Use the
hook-and-loop fa-
steners to secure
the straps. Leave
the flaps slightly
open for further
ventilation.
PHASE 4:
Verify that the
leg-foot walker
fits correctly. The
patient should be
able to insert his/
her toes into the
space between
the heel opening
and the insole.
The leg-foot
walker should not
move freely on
the leg.

How to customise adhesion
CAUTION: Do not cut through the sewn edge of the leg-foot walker and DO NOT
remove the entire adhesive backing sheet for the spare pad, unless necessary.
LONGER LEGS:
Place the addi-
tional pad slightly
further away from
the fixed pad.
HIP ROTATION:
Fasten the
additional pad in
horizontal position
on the outer side of
the leg-foot walker.
FOOT DROP:
Fasten the additio-
nal pad in vertical
position behind the
foot sole.
PARTIAL
MOBILITY:
Walking is allowed
for short distances.
If you need to walk
long distances,
do it only with
assistance.
MALLEOLAR
DECUBITUS:
Cut off the protru-
sions around the
ankle. If necessary,
cut a portion of the
fixed pad.
ACHILLES
TENDON:
If redness occurs
in this area, cut
off a “V” portion
from the fixed pad.
If both pads are
used, customise
the upper pad.
LEGS OF OBESE
PATIENTS:
Use the Bariatric
version. If the heel
is in contact with
the bed sheet,
add the additional
pad over the fixed
pad to increase
elevation.

DISPOSAL OF PRODUCT
Materials used in Heelift products are partially environmentally friendly, and there-
fore, require some specific measures for product disposal. Dispose of product re-
sponsibly. Refer to the local regulations on the disposal of inert products. Packaging
must be disposed of as plastic waste, while this manual must be recycled as paper.
WARRANTY
The warranty which refers only to defects of materials used and manufacturing
defects, protects the footwear pursuant to the law and may include product
replacement, only if recognized as defective by the Company.The warranty has no
effect in case of:
• damage caused by transport and not notified by the purchaser to the carrier
upon delivery;
• changes to structure;
• repairs to structure;
• regular product wear;
• damage attributable to the purchaser resulting from improper use of the
product, incorrect maintenance or negligent storage.
PRODUCT RETURN
The item considered defective can be returned by the retailer or the customer, only
if authorised by Optima Molliter S.r.l. It must be sent to Optima Molliter S.r.l. with
its original packaging and proof of purchase, at the recipient’s expense. Should the
Company be held liable, the product shall be replaced and sent by the Company to
the retailer or the customer at the recipient’s expense.
