Thisreceiverhaspowerfulsinglechipprocessor:STi5518.It isfullycompliantwith
MPEG-2and DVB-Tstandards.It can receiveterrestrialdigitalTVsignalstransmitted
atthe rateof3.7~23.8Mb/Son the specificfrequencieswithinthe VHForUHFband.
The availabletransmission channelbandwidthsare:7MHzand 8MHz.(bitratepay-
load transmitted inthe 8MHzchannelfrom4.98 to31.67 Mbit/S).It can memorize
programparameterswhen power-off. The featuresofElectronicProgramGuide dis-
playand autosearchmakeitconvenienttoreceiveterrestrialdigitalTVsignal.It
providesthe enhanced OSDMulti-language menus.Equipped withthe latesttechnol-
ogyand design,the receiverisensured toofferhigh reliabilityand stability.

viewing tomanyotherfunctions.

Theprogramsearchcanbeperformedintwodifferentways:

Searchisthe bestchoice.Firstusekeys toselect

keyispressed atthisitem,systemwill enterintoSearch-
ing windowand startsearching automatically.
Inthismode,all RFchannelsprepared inthe systemwill
be searched one byone.Newlysearched programsare
automaticallysorted intotwodifferentcategories:TVand

Radio.Afterone and ahalfminutes,autosearchiscom-
pleteand all searched programareloaded intothe STB’s
memory.During the searching,press EXITorMENU key
toexitfromthe Searching window.
1.2ManualSearch
Youcan setparametersinManualSearchifyouarefamil-
iarwithrelevantparameters.Inthismode,onlyone RF
Channel,whosenecessaryparametersaresetinManual
Searchmenu byhand,can be searched.
MUX:Press keytopopupadrop-downlistboxwhere
you can selectyourdesired option byusing keys.
Selectthe option ofyourchoiceand press OKkey,the
boxdisappearsand the value inFreq(kHz)variesyour
selection.Infact, Freq(KHz)hasthe samefunction as
MUX,soyou can setone between themrandomly.
Freq(KHz):TheoperationsarethesameasthoseinMUX
above.
Mode:Bypressing keys,setthisitemtobe 2K,8K
orAuto.
Guard:Availableoptionsare:1/4,1/8,1/16,1/32andAuto.
Press keys toselectone ofthe availablealternatives.
BandWidth:Youhaveachoiceof6M,7M,8MandDefault.
Press keys toselectappropriatebandwidth.
FTT:Press keystoselectamongthepreprogrammed
options,including FTT,CAS and All.
Search:OnceOKkeyispressed,Searching window
willbedisplayed on thescreen.Duringthisprocess,newly
searched programswill be listed intwocolumnslabeled
withTVorRadio.Twodynamicbarsreflecting the signal
qualityand the siganlstrengthwill alsobe displayed.Af-
tersearching well,systemwill returntoManualSearch
menu automatically.

If thereareitemsthatyou arenotinterested in,pleaseset
themtodefaultorauto,ManualSearchcan alsobe per-
formed successfully.
During the searching,EXITorMENU keyisused toexit
fromSearchingwindow.
1.3Reset
SelectResetiteminthe Installation menu and press
OKkey.Then amessage boxwill be displayed on the
screen.Press OKkeytoresumethe default.
Note:Afterrestoring default,all programsyou have
searchedwill beerasedand all parameterswill re-
turntothefactorydefault.So,thisoperation isap-
pliedonlyforspecialnecessarysituation.
2.ProgramManage
Thisfeatureallowsyou tomanage all the programslisted
inthe ProgramEditwindow.
Onthe left side ofthe ProgramEditwindow,you can see
the programlist. Onthe rightside,you can see relevant
parametersofcurrentprogramsuchasFrequency,mode,
guardand soon.Movecursortothe desired programby
using keyand press OKkey,contentsofselected
programwill be displayed on the back screen.
Twocolorkeys on the RCU hastheircorreponding func-
tion whicharedescribed asfollows:

Howtomake afavouritegroup
1.When you enterProgramManage window,defaultfa-
vouritelistwillbe shownonthescreen asFAV1.Bypress-
ing FAVkeyon the RCU,you can access the nextfavour-
itelist.
2.Selectyourfavouriteprogrambypressing keys
and press greencolourkeyon the RCU.Then will be
marked nexttothe selectedprogramname.If youwantto
cancelthisoperation,press greencolourkeyonceagain,
then the markwill disappear.
Howtoeditthenameofthefavouritegroup
Selectthe favouritelistwhichneedstobe renamed and
press INFOkeyon the RCU todisplayacommand box.
Selectyourrequired characterbyusing direction keyon
the RCU and press OKkey.Then the selected character
will be showninthe titlebaratthe top ofthe command
box.
Toswitchbetween capitaland lowercase,pleaseselect
CapsOncommand and press OKkeyon theRCU.Back
command enablesyou toerasethe unwanted character
inthe titlebar.The command boxwill disappearand the
newnamewill be showninthe ProgramManagewin-
dowinstead ofthe oldone afterpressing OKkeyon the
highlighted OKitem.
Howtoedittheprogramname
Selectthe programnameyou wanttooperateand press
RECALL key.Then the command boxwill be displayed
on the screen.Forfurtheroperation refertothe above
specification.
vDelete
Thisdeleting command allowsyou todeleteone ormore
unwantedprogramspermanently.Firstselecttheprogram,

OKkeytopop up SystemSetup menu.If you wantto
furtheroperatesomeitemincluded inthismenu,use
keys toselectitand press OKkeytoenterthe corre-
sponding sub menu.
3.1OSDSetup
InOSDSetup menu,itincludestransparency and lan-
guage twoitems.
3.1.1Transparency Setup
Bypressing OKkeyatTransparency item,Transpar-
ency Setup windowwill be displayed on the screen.
Colour:Press keys toselect1,2or3.
Transparency:The value rangesfrom10%to70%by
step 10%.The transparency ofthe menu thatyou have
seen varieswithyourselection.
Aftersetting well,press EXITorMENU keytoexitfrom
thiswindow.
3.1.2LanguageSetup
Fromhereyou can selectthe appropriatelanguage for
menu,audioand subtitle.
Firsthighlightthe itemyou wanttooperatebyusing
keys and then press keys toselectyourrequired
whichyou wanttodelete,and press yellowcolourkey.
Then willbemarkednexttotheselectedprogramname.
If you wanttocancelthe deletion,press yellowcolourkey
again,then the marked namewill be back.
Note:Thedeletedprogramcannotberecoveredun-
less you searchagain.

analogy.

Thisitemgivesyou the access toTVSetting window.
Thismenu consistsofthe following items:
ScreenType:Press keys toselectthe aspectratio
ofthe outputvideo formatamong Auto,16:9,4:3Letter
and 4:3Full.
BannerTime:Wheneveranewchannelisselected,an
Infobar,whichappearsmomentarilyatthe bottomedge
ofthe screen,tellsyou the information ofcurrentchannel
suchasname,number,attributeand soon.Therefore
thissetting istosetthe displaying timeofthe Infobar.
RFOutput: ThereceiverequippedwithaRFmodulatoris
abletomodulateaprogramtoagiven UHFchannel.The
setting range isfrom21 to69.Press keys toselect
the channelnumberyou want.
RFStandard:Press keys toselectRFstandard
among NTSC_M,PAL_B,PAL_Iand PAL_DK.
TVType:Selectamong PAL,NTSCand SECAMaccord-
ing toyourTVtype.
Service List: Selectbetween LCN Controland Normal.

Daylightsaving time:The availableoptionsareAuto,
YesorNO.The defaultvalue isAuto.
TimeZone:Inordertodisplaythe localtimecorrectly,it
maybe necessarytosetatimeoffsetindicating the differ-
encebetween localtimeand GMT.Herethereareseven
availableoptionssuchasSA,WA,TAS,NT,NSW/ACT,
VICand QLD.Pleaseusekeys toselectone among

TimerManager:Press keys toselectYES orNO.If
YES isselected,the timerwill work.
StartTime:Usenumerickeys toenterthe starttime
when the receiveristurned on automatically.
Turnoff Time:Usenumerickeys toenterthe turnoff
timewhen the receiveristurned off automatically.
ChangeCH Time:Usethe numerickeys on the RCU to
enterthe desired timewhen the receiverswitchesfrom
the channelbeing viewed tothe channelspecified bythe
channelnumbershowninthe ChangeCH Noitem.
ChangeCH No:Yourrequired channelnumbercan be
entered manuallywiththe numerickeys on the RCU.
Aftersetting well,press EXITorMENU keytoexitfrom
the TimeAdjustwindow.

InMainMenu menu,movecursortoGameitemand
press OKkey,and then Gamemenu will be displayed.
Thereceiverhasprovidedtwogamesforenjoymentssuch
asFiveSteon and Tetris.Usekeys toselectdesired
gameand press OKkeytoplay.You can fullyenjoythe
gamesbyreferring tothe prompton the screen.

5.1ProgramGuide
Bypressing Guidekeyon the RCU,the EPGwindowwill
be displayed on the screen.Sincethiswindowcan take
the placeofaTVguide managzine,you can knowmore
informationaboutthecurrentprogramoranupcomingpro-
gram(up toseven days).
You can see achannelliston the left side,press
keys toselectaprogram.The video fromthe selected
channelwill always blend intothe menu asan insert. The
programguide alsoworks inradiomode.Togetdetailed
information aboutthe selected channel,press yellow
colourkeyon the RCU torun ProgramDetail window.In
thiswindow,abriefoverviewon variousprogramsispro-
vided along withthe titleoftheseprograms.Bluecolour
keyisused todisplayWeeklyEPGwindow.
5.2ProgramList
Toselectthe desired channelinthe programlist, you
shouldfirstlydisplaythe Programlistbydirectlypress-
