3. Mounting
A bracket is supplied with the Thermal Image Camera TIC Ex Alu/SSt; the
package includes the necessary nuts, bolts and washers.
Use of a different type of bracket or bracket made by a
different manufacturer is not permitted. In order to meet
the temperature classification, the camera must not be
fitted with different caps or additional insulation.
This bracket is suitable for mounting the camera in hanging, standing and
overhead positions. See figure 2. Use a Allen key to adjust the bracket to
the camera with M6 socket head cap screws. Use a 13-mm open-ended
spanner to secure the camera bracket with four M8 bolts, nuts and wash-
ers. See figure 3.
4. Operation
4.1. Overpressure in the enclosure
The enclosure of the Thermal Image Camera TIC Ex Alu/SSt has a 2,4-bar
Absolute pressure. When in service, the internal pressure is monitored by
the 2 internal pressure sensors and as soon as the pressure falls lower
then 1,4 bar Absolute Pressure; the pressure ok signal to the control box
will be switched off and power supply to the camera will be disconnected.
The Thermal Image Camera TIC Ex Alu/SSt is only switched on if there is
adequate overpressure.
4.2. Filling procedure
WARNING: Do not open the enclosure in a non-safe
environment.
The enclosure is protected by static pressurisation
(Nitrogen).
The enclosure shall be filled only in a non-hazard-
ous area by the manufacturer.
If the pressure is lost send the device back to the manufacturer for inves-
tigation, repair and testing.
The filling valve may ONLY be used by the manufacturer.
Do not remove the blue seal. See figure 3A and 4. The warranty expires
when the blue seal is broken!
The warranty expires when the user does not act
according the instructions and warnings in this

Thermal Image Camera TIC Ex Alu/SSt :
Thermal Image Camera TIC Ex Alu/SSt
Set Ex Board plate.
The Thermal Image Camera TIC Ex Alu/SSt may only be switched on if the
system has been installed in the prescribed way.
Position the Set Ex Board plate outside the Ex zone. The cables within the
Ex zone must be secured in a cable conduit or similar so that the cables
cannot move. When using a AC/DC main power supply only use a type
SELV or a type PELV.
The Set Ex Board plate may by applied in a 19 inch rack. In this rack
several Set Ex Board plates can be mounted. See figure 6A.
No other type of circuit boards may be placed in the
19"-rack.
When Using multiple Set Ex Board plates, a
minimum distance of 6mm between the components of
the adjacent Set Ex Board plates.
The Ex rack should be held in a EMC screened place.

5.3. Junction box Ex 75x106x55mm (Uni/Arm)
The free end of the cables in the Ex zone must be connected in the Junc-
tion box Ex 75x106x55mm (Uni/Arm), see figure 7A for cable connec-
tions Junction box Ex 75x106x55mm (Uni/Arm) standard version; and
figure 7B for cable connections Junction Box Armoured version.
The overall shielding of the cables Cable Base 9B-
1CB11W and Cable Base 13A-9,3B-1CB11W; should be
conducted through in the Junction box Ex 75x106x55mm
(Uni/Arm).
For the correct way to mount the cable shielding in the glands see figure
7A for cable Cable Base 9B-1CB11W and see figure 7B for cable Cable
Base 13A-9,3B-1CB11W.
The correct installation of the cables are shown in figures 7A, 7B, 8A and
8B, these instructions should be followed for proper Ex-cable connec-
tion to the Junction box Ex 75x106x55mm (Uni/Arm). Before installing
the cable, first place the supplied shrink sleeves over the cable end (do
not shrink yet). After installation of the cable wiring in the Junction box
Ex 75x106x55mm (Uni/Arm) and tightening the gland; shrink the shrink
sleeves on the both glands.

10. Set Ex Board plate
See also Data sheet for more information.
This Set Set Ex Board plate may only be used in
combination with in this manual described camera.
No other type of circuit boards may be placed in a 19"-rack.
When Using multiple Set Ex board plates, a minimum dis-
tance of 6mm between the components of the adjacent Set
Ex board plates is required. The Ex-rack should be held in a
EMC screened place.
CHECK Dipswitch settings; See Chapter 10.2
Fuses:
The Thermal Image Camera TIC Ex Alu/SSt must be pro-
tected with fuses according figure A; for specifications see
Chapter 10.3 Fuses Set Ex Board plate.
The Set Ex Board plate has memory function.
Under normal circumstances, start the system once the power is
24V/+/-10%.
If there is no OK signal of the pressure sensor in the camera, the
camera is turned off. On the Set Ex Board plate will be a buzzer
sound.
The absence of the OK signal should be checked and corrected by
qualified staff.
Even after you disable and enable the 24V power supply voltage, the
error is still present on the Set Ex Board plate so that the camera still
is turned off. By pushing the S103 button on the Set Ex Board plate
the error status will be reset. See figure A.
This push button may only be used by qualified staff.
The Set Ex Board plate may by applied in a 19 inch rack. In this rack
several Set Ex Board plates can be mounted. No other type of circuit
boards may be placed in the 19"-rack. When Using multiple Set Ex
Board plates, a minimum distance of 6mm between the components
of the adjacent Ex- boards. The Ex-rack should be held in a EMC
screened place.
10.1. Testing control circuit
See figure A.
By pushing S105 on the Set Ex Board plate the pressure sensor
signal from the Set Camera TIC Ex Alu/Sst is overruled by 0V.
The Non-Intrinsic safe connections to the Thermal Image Camera TIC
Ex Alu/SSt are now disconnected by the relays. If Dip Switch S100 is
On; the Buzzer will sound. This alarm situation is latched.
Releasing S105 or removing power to the Set Ex Board plate will not
reset the alarm or reconnect the camera.
The alarm can only be reset by pushing S103. Reseting the alarm will
reconnect the Camera. The switch S103 will not function as long as
there is no 4V signal from the pressure sensor.

12. Pelco-D commands
Pelco-D protocol as implemented in Orlaco Zoom camera or PTZ unit.
Commands detailed below are accepted, no responses are sent.
Bron:Pelco PTZ protocols, D Protocol, Version 5.0.1 1 april 2008 by Eric Hamilton (C) Pelco.
Command format:
All commands are seven (D Protocol)bytes long.
D Protocol Command Format/Names:
Byte 1 Byte 2 Byte 3 Byte 4 Byte 5 Byte 6 Byte 7
Sync addr. cmnd1 cmnd2 data1 data2 chksm
0xff
Bytes D Protocol:
1 sync : Always 0xFF to indicate the start of a command.
2 addr : Camera address. Range is 1 ! 255 (0x01 ! 0xFF). 0x01 is for camera #1, etc.
3 cmnd1 : Extension of the basic command. The basic command is in the cmnd2 position.
4 cmnd2 : The basic command. For extended commands, all of these are odd numbers.
5 data1 : Usually is the Pan speed index.
6 data2 : Usually is the Tilt speed index.
7 cksm : This is the arithmetic sum of all bytes except for the sync byte and itself.
Command Sets
There are two sets/types of commands:
1 "Motion" commands, i.e. pan, tilt, iris, zoom and focus; are "bit encoded" commands that always have bit 0 in cmnd2 set to 0.
Any number of non-exclusive bits may be set in the cmnd1 and cmnd2 bytes for this format of command, data1 and data2 are pan and tilt speed index.
2 "Non-motion" commands, i.e. call preset, set pan angular position; are "numerically encoded".
These commands always have bit 0 in cmnd2 set to a 1.
Implemented "Motion" commands:
cmnd1 and cmnd2 are represented as follows:
Byte 3, cmnd1
Bit 7 Bit 6 Bit 4 Bit 4 Bit 3 Bit 2 Bit 1 Bit 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Focus
Near
Byte 4, cmnd2
Bit 7 Bit 6 Bit 5 Bit 4 Bit 3 Bit 2 Bit 1 Bit 0
Focus Zoom Zoom Down Up Left Right 0
Far Wide Tele
Data1, Data2 (Pan/Tilt speed), Byte 5,6 contain the speed.
Speed is in the range of `0x00' to `0x3F' (high speed) and `0x40' for "turbo" speed.
Turbo speed is the maximum speed the device can obtain.
A pan speed value of `0x00' results in very slow motion, not cessation of motion.
To stop pan motion both the Left and Right direction bits must be turned off, set to `0',
regardless of the value set in the pan speed byte.
Implemented "Non-motion" commands.
Set Preset (TIC has only special presets):
Byte 1 Byte 2 Byte 3 Byte 4 Byte 5 Byte 6 Byte 7
Sync addr. 0x00 0x03 0x00 Preset chksm
0xff ID
Preset ID valid range = 0-5.
Set preset is also used for some special function by using a special Preset ID.
Sensor
Sensor Thermal Imager Uncooled VOx Microbolometer.
Pixels FPA Format 324 x 256 (25-micron pixel size).
Frame Rates 7,5 Hz (NTSC); 8,3 Hz (PAL).
Sensitivity <75 mk, <50 mk f/1,0.
Scene Range -40°C to +160°C.
Digital zoom 2x & 4x.
Video NTSC/PAL, field switchable.
Lens WFOV, 19mm (24° Detection 450m).
Color 4 Color Palettes (LUTs).
Electrical
Power input 24V/DC +/-10%.
Power consumption Temperature <0°C (heater on): 5,6W temperature >0°C (heater off): 3,6 W.
Presets 128 presets Visca and 255 presets Pelco-D.
Cable Cable Base 9B-1CB11W, Art. no 1221300, length 5m, min. bending radius 50mm.
Electrical parameters Um = 30V/DC.
Communication RS 232, Visca-, Pelco-D commands.
Fuse The camera must be protected with a 315 mA-T fuse, with 1500A breaking capacity. Placed on the Ex board, see Installation
manual IM0973151.
