1PREFACE
1.1 General information
Instructions for use
Any machinery is provided with copy of these instructions for use.
Purpose of the instructions for use is to assist both the operator and the maintenance technician
while performing the operations necessary to safe operate the machinery. The technical
procedures here described are the basic ones required. After practicing with the machine, the
operator will be able to develop further technical skills.
Note
: These instructions for use are an integral part of the machinery and must
accompany the machinery if it is resold or differently located.
.
However these instructions for use are normally completed with further information during
operators’ training when the machinery is delivered.
Note: As for other equipment the machinery can be provided with, refer to their
specific instructions for use.
How to kee these instructions for use
These instructions for use must be kept available at the machinery location all the time for future
reference.
Note: In case the instructions for use are lost or damaged, apply to the manufacturer
to get another copy.
Information property rights
These instructions for use contain information protected by copyright. All rights are reserved. This
document cannot be photocopied or reproduced, in part or completely, without prior written
consent of ORMET S.p.A. Only customers to whom these instructions for use have been supplied
together with the machinery are allowed to use them to carry out use and maintenance operations
on the machinery it refers to.
These instructions for use refer to the standard use and maintenance of the machinery. Therefore
observe scrupulously these instructions to operate correctly and safely the machinery. The
machinery shall be operated only by skilled and trained personnel. Do not perform repairs or
operations not specifically described in the instructions for use. Any machinery disassembling
operations shall only be performed by authorized technical personnel. The manufacturer will not be
held responsible for direct or indirect damage or injury to people, objects or animals resulting from
the use of this documentation or the machinery in non-standard conditions. ORMET S.p.A.
reserves the right to introduce technical modifications or improvements both to the documentation
and to the machineries without prior notice. Modifications and improvements may also concern
machines of the same model described in these instructions for use, but which have a different
serial number.
The CE marking approves the conformity by the Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE.

1.4 Charts and load charts
The machinery is provided with a file containing the relevant charts and
load tables. The chart shows the work range of a mobile crane in any
specific configuration while the table contains detailed information on the
maximum load capacity in the different points of the work area.
While operating the machinery observe the load capacity stated in the
“Load charts” file supplied with the machinery.
WORK CHART
There are two kinds of tables:
1- Tables in function of the crane boom: in this case the max load at a given point P is identified by
the extension L of the crane boom and by the distance R from the crane rotation centre (radius).

2- Table in function of the boom and of the accessory: in this case the max. load at a given point P
is identified by the extension Lj of the accessory and by the distance R from the crane rotation

Moreover each table provides information concerning the operating mode it refers, the kind of
installed accessory, the presence (or not) of a counterweight and the applicable stability condition
100% (green) - 50% (yellow) - 0% (red) - track (hoisting capacity on moving track).
Winch load ca acity
As for mobile cranes SPX424CDH/C+, the single-line pull max. load capacity of the winch is
800 kg (1760 lbs).
To lift heavier loads modify the pulley configuration by using a double or
triple line pull.
The manufacturer can provide the machinery with different kinds of
winches. Refer to the loads chart file delivered with the machinery.
In order to increase the rope hoisting capacity it is necessary to assemble the block as indicated in
the picture.

The rope shall be replaced and suitably adjusted only by trained technical
personnel.
Set the number of ropes in the control display as shown in the specific
chapter.
1.5 Original seals
The manufacturer has placed lead sealing on machinery components to assure working under safe
conditions.
Original seal removal from solenoid valves will cause machinery UNSAFE
WORKING. The manufacturer declines any responsibility arising.
1.6 Operator’s training
The machinery operator shall be properly trained for the correct and safe operation of the
machinery. Training and instruction is made available by ORMET S.p.A.’s skilled personnel.
Please apply to the manufacturer for further information.
1.7 Intended use
The mobile crane is intended to handle loads by means of a hook, a winch or other accessories.
Loading must respect the load charts delivered with the instructions for use.
Any use not explicitly stated shall be considered out of the scope of the machinery, and in
particular:
•any use other than that described in these instructions for use and for which the machinery
has been designed and built.
