USER’S MANUAL

PACKAGE CONTENT
Before to proceed with installation, please, make sure you received all the following elements:
- USB Wireless adapter
- CD-Rom with drivers
- This quick installation guide
If any element is missing, please contact your distributor.
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
1. Plug the Adapter directly to the USB port on your computer.
2. “Found New Hardware Wizard” screen will pop up when the adapter is installed correctly, click
Cancel.
SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
I. Windows XP/2003/2000
When you install the hardware prior to before installing the software, the system will prompt
“Found New Hardware Wizard”, click Cancel, and run the Setup Wizard program on the
CD-ROM.
1. Insert the Resource CD into your CD-ROM and select Install Driver and Utility (Win
XP/2003/2000).
2. Click Install Driver & Utility to load the following
screen.

3.Soon, this window will display after a moment. Click Next
to continue.
4.After that, you should choose a Setup type. It is
recommended that you select Install Client Utilities and
Driver. Select Install Driver Only to install driver only, select
Make Driver Installation Diskette(s) to make the diskette(s)
as the installation driver. Click Next to continue.
5. Click Browse to change the destination location for the
software, then click Next in the screen shown.
6.After that, select the program folder, you should create a
new folder name or select one from the Existing Folders list.
It is recommended that you keep the default setting. Click
Next to continue the installation.
7.Choose configuration tool, if you are not sure, please leave
it default. Then click Next to continue.

8. Click OK to continue the Installation. Wait a while for the
setup as shown.
Notes: For Windows XP, the Setup Wizard will notify you of
how to proceed with the installation during these steps. Click
Continue Anyway to continue the Installation.
9. After all the steps above, you will see the screen below,
click Finish to reboot the system.
II. Driver Installation for Windows 7 and Vista
Step 1: Plug your USB dongle into USB interface, Windows will search for compatible driver to
install. If after 5 seconds the system doesn’t prompt the Setup Wizard Assistant or if installation has
not finished in a correct way, you can install the driver manually following instructions from step
11 on. Otherwise follow steps 2 to 10.
Step 2: Select Locate and install the driver software,
Windows will guide you through the process of installing
driver software for your device.

Step 3: Insert the installation disc into the CD-ROM and
click Next to continue installation.
Step 4: Windows searchs for the software.
Step 5: Click on Install this driver software anyway.
Step 6: When it will be installed successfully, click on
Close.
Step 7: After installation, right click the network icon on the
Windows System Tray, and click Connect to a network.

Step 8: Select a network to connect to and click
Connect.
Step 9: Click Connect Anyway if the network is an
unsecured network.
Step 10: USB Dongle successfully connected to network,
click Close.
Step 11: For a manual installation of the driver, click on Start> Control Panel> Hardware and
Sound> Device Manager, in Other Devices right button click on USB2.0 WLAN
and select Properties. Into the General part, click on Update Driver icon and select Browse
for driver software on your computer, click Browse and with the CD into your CD-ROM select
the following path D:\AutoPlay\Driver\Driver Files\WinVista_Win7, click on OK and Next. At
this point, follow steps 5 to 10.
SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION FOR WINDOWS XPX32 X64/2000/2003
After the installation an icon will appear at your desktop at the lower side. It is about the signal
quality. If the icon not to appear, run the utility by clicking Start> All Programs> OvisLink>
“Evo-W301USB Utility”.

When the icon appears and if it is green, means the signal is excellent. If the color is grey, please
follow the next step for a manual connection:
1. Once the utility is loaded, please click on folder Profile
Management.
2. Click on Scan and you will see all the available
wireless networks.
3. Click on Refresh for refreshing the screen.
4. Select a wireless LAN and click on Activate for
connecting to it, If there is no profile for that WLAN a
new windows will be opened.
In Profile Name add the name of your
network and if the router or access point use
an encryption key (WEP or WPA/WPA2), to
secure the wireless network, please, click on the
Security tab and select the kind of encryption
and click in Configure to settle the password
and click on OK to create a profile.
If the icon the lower side it is green , means the
signal is excellent.
If the color is grey , repeat steps 1 to 4 and check if
the datas are correct.
If you use Windows as the administrator for WLAN it
is recommended to disable it from Control Panel/Lan
connections/Wireless connections. With right button
click on Properties. In the wireless part, disable Use
windows to configure my WLAN configuration.
WPS CONFIGURATION
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) function allows you to add a new wireless device to an
existing network quickly. If the wireless card supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), you can
establish a wireless connection between wireless card and router using either Push Button
Configuration (PBC) method or PIN method.
