Intended use
2. Intended use
The water to be filtered must be of
drinking water quality!
Do not use with water that is microbio-
logically unsafe or of unknown quality
without adequate disinfection before or
after the system.
Systems certified for cyst reduction may be
used on disinfected waters that may contain
filterable cysts.
It is absolutely essential that the local distri-
butor be consulted before using this filter on
water of a different quality, respectively water
containing additives.
This Mycare water filter is suitable for
use in cold drinking water applications up to
a maximum water temperature of 30 °C
(86 °F).
The installation and operation of the
Mycare water filter is to be carriedout
in accordance with all rules and regulations
relevant and valid in the country of operation.
In addition to this, all valid regulations
governing health and safety in the country of
use are to be adhered to at all times.
The Mycare water filter may be used
only as described in these operating instruc-
tions, any further application is to be
deemed non-compliant with the safety
requirements indicated herein which may
result in a higher hazard risk to persons and
property.
The manufacturer / supplier cannot be held
liable for any damages resulting from such
use. Such usage is carried out at the user's
full risk. The intended use also includes the
observance of the operating instructions.
Please consult with our customer service
department before using this water filter for
any applications other than the ones stipu-
lated in this manual.
The Mycare water filter may only be
used in a technically correct condition, free
from defects and in accordance with health
and safety regulations!
Any functional defects are to be reported
immediately!

7Mycare MP 50
Intended use
2.1 Water pressure
The water pressure has to be between
103 kPa (15 psi) and 345 kPa (50 psi).
The water pressure must not fall below
103 kPa (15 psi) as otherwise the operation
can be impaired!
Failure to carry out regular maintenance
may result in a decrease in water pressure
and impair the filter function.
ATTENTION
(see chapter “Safety indications and
dangers due to non-compliance”)
At a water pressure higher than 414 kPa
(60 psi), a pressure reducer must be fitted
upstream the Mycare water filter (see
fig. 2).
In most modern installations, despite normal
system pressure conditions, peak pressures
of up to over 3000 kPa (435 psi) frequently
occur.
This will lead to damages!
The optimum static and operating pressure
range for the Mycare water filter is
between 103 kPa (15psi) to 345 kPa
(50 psi). Under these pressure ranges the
Mycare MP 50 water filter works most
effectively.
2.2 Information on hazard risks
2.2.1 Electrical equipment /
installations
Electrical devices / equipment that are not
splash-water proof and are situated in the
direct vicinity of the Mycare water filter
may be damaged by water escaping from
the Mycare water filter, causedas a
result of the device being operated impro-
perly. In addition, short circuits may occur if
such electrical devices / equipment are / is
connected to the electrical power supply.
This may result in the risk of danger of elec-
tric shock to persons.
Therefore all the electrical devices / equip-
ment situated in the direct vicinity should be
splash-water proof, respectively comply with
the statutory requirements for wet areas
(NEMA type 12/IP44).
