When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
A Note About Safety

2
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or

done by authorized service personnel only.
Shock Hazard:
This appliance has a polarized plug (one wide blade)
that reduces the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only
one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety
purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or
using an adapter. If the plug does not fit, reverse the plug.
If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.
Do not plug this appliance into an outlet with a voltage
other than specified on the bottom of this appliance.
We selected a short cord for this Coffee Maker to
reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in, or tripping
over a longer cord. If you need to use a longer cord, an
approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating
of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than
the rating of Coffee Maker. Make sure the extension cord
is arranged so that it cannot be pulled on by children or
tripped over.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use
any high wattage appliance on the same circuit as this
appliance. This Coffee Maker is not intended for use
by children, persons with reduced physical, sensory, or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have received supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.

Rainmaker™, drip tray, brew baskets, and mixing tube
are top-rack dishwasher safe.
Hand wash carafe and lid with mild detergent
after use. Rinse thoroughly. Carafe and lid are not
dishwasher safe. Placing carafe in dishwasher will
compromise the vacuum insulation.
Always unplug your Coffee Maker before cleaning it. Any service or
maintenance other than cleaning or descaling should be performed by an
authorized service representative. For more information,
call OXO Customer Service at (800) 545-4411.
Cleaning & Care
Never immerse the Coffee Maker power cord or
plug in water. Do not allow liquid to come in contact
with power cord or plug. Doing so can result in electrical
shock or death.
To prevent damage to the appliance when cleaning,
do not use alkaline cleaning agents, abrasive pads, harsh
chemicals, or spray cleaner chemicals when cleaning.
Regular Cleaning
Clean exterior regularly with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
Descale your Coffee Maker regularly. See pg. 13 for
descaling instructions.
Stain Removal
Remove coffee oil stains in the carafe by soaking overnight
with a small amount of dishwasher detergent and water.
Rinse thoroughly.
Filters
To replace filters for Small Brew Basket, purchase #2 cone
paper filters. To replace filters for Large Brew Basket, purchase
commercial basket large filters.
Drying
Keep water tank and brew basket lids open after brewing
for quick drying.

13
Descaling
1
Add Descaling
Solution
Add a mixture of water and
descaling solution to water tank.
Dilute your descaling solution by
following the water-to-solution ratio
on your descaling solution.
Note: If using vinegar to descale, fill the
water tank to the 6-cup line with vinegar
and fill to the 12-cup line with water to
make a 50/50 ratio.
2
Run the
Cleaning Cycle
Turn knob until “CLEAN” is
highlighted and press to select.
Note: Cleaning cycle will take around
25 minutes. Time will vary based on
amount of mineral deposit. Allow cycle to
finish to ensure machine is fully descaled.
3
Run a
Water-Only Cycle
Add filtered water to the 12–cup
fill line and run 9-12-cup cycle with
water only to rinse machine.
Scale is a naturally occurring buildup of mineral deposits.
How often you should descale your Coffee Maker depends
on water hardness.
OXO Brew Descaling Solution is available at www.oxo.com;
follow solution’s recommended use.
Notes on Descaling
The display screen will show an exclamation point next to CLEAN every 90 cycles as a helpful reminder that it’s time to
descale. Your Coffee Maker will not work properly if it is not descaled regularly. The warranty is voided if descaling is
not carried out in accordance with these instructions. Using filtered water will help prevent mineral buildup.

14
If the bar icons in the water tank
are blinking, add water.
If the carafe icon is blinking and Coffee
Maker beeps twice, ensure the carafe is
properly in place.
The ring around the BREW button
will light up when Coffee Maker
is ready to brew.
The display screen will show an exclamation point
next to “CLEAN” on your display screen when it’s
time to descale.
Display Notifications
If these errors are not resolved within 10 seconds, the brew cycle will be canceled.

15
Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
Coffee Maker base is warm after brewing.
The base of Coffee Maker may get warm after brewing, especially after a
12-cup cycle or multiple cycles in a row. However, to avoid burnt-tasting coffee,
there is no built-in heater in the base.
Water is bubbling/not bubbling while brewing.
The water is heated to exactly the right temperature for coffee to meet the SCA
standards, so it won’t always look like it’s boiling before brewing begins. However,
during the large-quantity brew cycles, you may see a few small bubbles in the water
while it’s being heated. That’s normal!
There is still condensation in the water tank after I finish brewing. This is normal. Leave the water tank lid open between uses so that the water can
evaporate and the water tank can dry out.
Coffee Maker is beeping. If Coffee Maker beeps while trying to brew, check the display
notifications on page 14.
Coffee Maker is popping or cracking during the brew cycle. This is normal. At the end of the brewing cycle, Coffee Maker is pumping a
mixture of water and air resulting in some popping noises.
Coffee Maker had water in the tank when I received it. Every Coffee Maker is tested to guarantee quality. As a result, a small amount of
filtered water may remain inside.
What filters do I need?
To replace filters for the Small Brew Basket, purchase #2 cone paper filters.
To replace filters for the Large Brew Basket, purchase commercial basket
large filters.
Coffee Maker screen says “CLN”.
Coffee Maker will will show CLN or show an exclamation point next to
“Clean” on the bottom menu every 90 cycles as a helpful reminder that it’s
time to descale. Follow instructions on page 13.
Coffee Maker is beeping and screen shows a set of letters
(such as “HHHH”)
Coffee Maker overheated. Coffee Maker can overheat due to excess scale build
up. Wait 15 minutes for Coffee Maker to cool down and descale with descaling
solution following the instructions on page 13.
