INTRODUCTION
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
4
The Ozito 3 in 1 Blower, Vacuum & Mulcher provides a complete solution to your
garden maintenance needs.
It is ideal for blowing leaves, grass clippings and other debris from courtyards,
driveways, decks and footpaths. The variable speed ensures greater control when
blowing different material from lightweight grass clippings to wet leaves.
The single action lever allows quick change over from blow to vacuum mode, it is suitable
for vacuuming leaves, grass clippings and garden debris.
Featuring a 10:1 mulching ratio it will reduce large piles of waste into easily manageable
mulch. A metal mulching blade ensures greater durability and delivers the strength to
mulch hard garden waste such as twigs and nuts.
With a large 45 litre collection bag the vacuum collects all of your material for easy
disposal or composting.
This product is intended for DIY use only.
Warning! When using mains-powered equipment, basic safety precautions,
including the following, should always be followed to reduce risk of fire,
electric shock, personal injury and material damage.
Read and understand the manual prior to operating this tool.
Save these instructions and other documents supplied with this tool for future reference.
The electric motor has been designed for 230V and 240V only. Always check that
the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
Note: The supply of 230V and 240V on Ozito tools are interchangeable for
Australia and New Zealand.
This tool is double insulated in accordance with AS/NZS 3100; therefore no
earth wire is required.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an electrician or a power
tool repairer in order to avoid a hazard.
Note: Double insulation does not take the place of normal safety precautions when
operating this tool. The insulation system is for added protection against injury
resulting from a possible electrical insulation failure within the tool.
Using an Extension Lead
Always use an approved extension lead suitable for the power input of this tool.
Before use, inspect the extension lead for signs of damage, wear and ageing.
Replace the extension lead if damaged or defective.
When using an extension lead on a reel, always unwind the lead completely. Use of
an extension lead not suitable for the power input of the tool or which is damaged or
defective may result in a risk of fire and electric shock.
It is recommended that the extension lead is a maximum of 25m in length. Do Not
use multiple extension leads.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Warning! Read all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term “Power Tool”
in all of the warnings listed below refers to your mains operated (corded)
power tool or battery operated (cordless) power tool.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1) WORK AREA
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions
can cause you to lose control.
2) ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power
tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or
unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for
outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3) PERSONAL SAFETY
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power
tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as
dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before
plugging in. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in
power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in
personal injury.
BVP-2400 Manual.qxd 9/11/09 5:40 PM Page 5

GENERAL SAFETY RULES (cont.)
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or
long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and
collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of
these devices can reduce dust related hazards.
4) POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your
application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate
for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any
power tool that can not be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must
be repaired.

the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power
tools operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use.
Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with
these instructions and in the manner intended for the particular type of
power tool, taking into account the working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from intended
could result in a hazardous situation.

OPERATION
Prior to use
Prior to using the blower vac, ensure you have read and understood this
instruction manual.
Ensure you are wearing suitable clothing and safety equipment including safety
glasses, ear protection and a mask if necessary.
Ensure the attachments on the blower vac are correctly fitted and adjusted.
Be aware of other people and animals in the area where you will be operating the
blower vac.
Turning on and off
CAUTION: Both the tubes and collection bag must
be fitted prior to switching on the blower vacuum.
To switch on, push the switch (5) to the “1” on position (Fig. 9).
To switch off, push the switch (5) to the “0” off position.
Important: After you have turned the blower vac off, do
not leave the product unattended until the blower vac
has been fully disconnected from the electrical supply.
Variable speed
Variable speed provides greater control when using
the blower vac, the blow speed can be adjusted
depending on the application and the weight of the
material being blown.
To adjust the blow speed rotate the variable speed dial (6).
The dial is numbered 1 to 6, setting to 1 provides the slowest
blow speed, setting to 6 provides the fastest blow speed.
Blowing
Move the mode selection lever (7) down towards the
collection bag (Fig. 10). The arrow on the lever will
point towards the blow icon on the motor housing.
When the blow operation is selected, air is expelled
through the outlet in the lower tube.
When the blow operation is selected ensure the
blower vac is pointed, directed and used in a safe
manner. Do not direct the air flow from this blower
vac directly or indirectly towards another person.
Vacuuming
Move the mode selecting lever upwards towards the
top of the housing (Fig. 11), the arrow on the lever will
point towards the vacuum icon on the motor housing.
When the vacuum operation is selected, air and debris is drawn up through the
vacuum tube, and forced through the mulching impellor.
The debris is mulched and then blown down into the collection bag.
Important: Always ensure the collection bag is correctly attached. Always be
aware of what is being drawn up into the blow/vac tube. This product is designed
to vacuum garden debris including leaves, grass, twigs and garden cuttings.

Important notes when using the blower/vacuum selection lever
Do not force the lever. The lever should move with very little resistance. If the lever is
difficult to move, disconnect the power supply, remove the collection bag, inspect the
motor housing and ensure debris, dirt or mud has not jammed the lever.
When selecting either of the operations, ensure the selection lever is fully in one
position or the other, not half way.
Adjusting the blower tube
The blower vac is fitted with an adjustable 3 position
tube that can be adjusted to obtain the
optimal working height.
To adjust the height of the blower tube depress the
tube locking button (12) and adjust the lower tube up
or down to one of the 3 positions.
Emptying the collection bag
The collection bag (8) is attached to the blower vac in 2 positions. It is not necessary
to remove the collection bag from the blower vac when the bag needs to be emptied.
The rear of the bag is fitted with a full length zip.
Simply open the zip and empty the contents.
Ensure to close the zip prior to operating the blower vac.
Note: The collection bag must be fitted for the blower vac to operate.
Tips for using your blower vac
The following points will assist in the operation of the blower vac.
• Always try and vacuum dry leaves, cuttings or general garden debris. Wet material
is difficult to mulch and can cause the blower vac to clog.
•If the leaves are damp, first use the blower vac in blow mode to pile the leaves in
one area. Vac and mulch the leaves when dry.
• Avoid using the vac on areas where there are stones or other hard objects. These
objects will damage the impellor of the blower vac.
•Do not allow the blower vac to pick up soil. Soil generally contains moisture and
when combined with other garden debris can clog the blower vac.
•The blower vac is not a garbage disposal unit. Do not attempt to mulch any
material other than general garden debris.
•For better performance and comfort, it is recommended the collection bag is
emptied when it becomes approximately half full. This reduces the weight and
also allows the vacuum operation to perform at its highest level.
