QUICKSTART MANUAL PAN SPEAKER P 08-EN 54
Thank you for buying a Pan Acoustics product. The passive column-loudspeakers from the Pan Speaker®
series with EN 54-24 Certifi cate (typ B), are passive 100V column-loudspeakers in an aluminium housing for
use in voice evacuation systems inclusive optical indication for the available pilot tone signaling.
The Pan Speaker series offers, next to the EN 54-24 loudspeakers, a wide range of products for acoustically
challenging environments, classical AV-installation, theatre and outdoor situations. The series are comple-
ted by a specifi cally tuned low frequency woofer. All loudspeakers of the Pan Speaker series are of course
optimised for a natural speech- and music distribution.
Please carefully read this manual before starting up the system, to assure an interference free operation.
The manual is to be kept accordingly.

Please check the goods carefully for transport damage. If necessary, immediately inform the carrier and the
shipper of the goods. Check whether all components, associated with the device, are in the packaging.

Installation and connection
For the installation of the EN 54 Pan Speakers on walls and ceilings we offer a wide assortment of
accessories of different mounts.
The installation and commissioning of speakers only must be performed by qualifi ed personnel. It is to ensure
that the selected bracket meets the requirements on wall and ceiling structure and operational requirements.
National safety regulations for the operation and assembly are to be followed.

on data available at the time of publication. We reserve the right to change the applicable product improvement
and adaptation to new standards to the product.
Symbols and explanation
The symbol indicates a hazard with a high degree of risk. If this hazard is not avoided,
serious injury or death may be the result.
The symbol indicates a hazard with a moderate risk. If this danger is not avoided, injury or death
of the sequence can be medium to heavy.
The symbol indicates a hazard with a low level of risk. Disregard this notice slight injury might cause
damage to the property.
To avoid injury by falling,
• this device is, according to the assembly instructions, to be friction-locked, with suitable fasteners to the building.
• the underground (wall) is to be checked for mounting capability and installed and levelled professionally by
using the from Pan Acoustics supplied mounts and components or those explicitly mentioned in this manual.
• the key-elements and compounds are to be checked regularly for wear and loosening.
To minimize the risk of fi re or electrical hazard,
• it is not allowed to open the product as it does not contain parts that can be serviced by the user.
• the product should not not be exposed to moisture and humidity.
• no objects fi lled with liquids (e.g. bottles) are to be placed on the equipment.
• the system should not be exposed to excessive heat, sunshine or fi re.
• no naked fl ames (e.g. candles) are to be used in the vicinity of the device.
To prevent injury, this product must be put out of operation and be secured against accidental operation when the product
• has visible damage.
• includes loose parts.
• is no longer working correctly.
• was stored for a longer period under unfavourable conditions (e.g. in humid rooms).
• is exposed to bad transport (e.g. with an unsuitable packaging).
To avoid injuries as hearing damage due to high volumes, individuals should
• never stay directly in front of a connected speaker.
• not expose to a signifi cant period of high volume levels.
To avoid injury, electric shock and fi re, it is to ensure that all those are involved in the installation, operation or
dismantling, installation of the device / system, have read this manual.
To prevent damage to the product, it is important to avoid
• generating acoustic feedback.
• to reproduce distorted signals at a high level over a long time.
• to generate impulse noises (e.g. pops) that arise when a source device of the system is turned on,
connected or disconnected.
• to operate the device in high humidity environments.
